Greg, the owner of the shop said he would repair it while I waited, as I was coming from the City, he even sent me to a great restaurant down the street (Rita's). He fixed it and even dropped it off at the restaurant! I can't say enough positive things about this business!

I called Greg's about repairing a broken front-wheel drive cable on a Toro Recycler. I was told over the phone it could be repaired and that it was a simple fix. When I got the mower back nearly three weeks later, I was hit with a bill for $310 and change, more than half the cost of a new mower, same make and model. The bill included several miscellaneous charges that I never authorized. Nor was I ever contacted about whether I wanted those additional services performed. The additional charges: oil change, new spark plug, air filter, blade sharpening, and new wheels. When I take my car into be serviced for one problem and the mechanic finds an additional problem, I am contacted and asked whether I want the additional work performed, and I get a cost estimate. No assumptions are made about what I am willing to pay for. In this case, if I had known the total cost of the repairs to be done, I would've declined having them done and looked into a new mower. Granted, Greg's did reduce the bill by $50 after I expressed my displeasure with their lack of professionalism, but the repair costs are still slightly more than half the price of a new mower. When using Greg's be sure to get a cost estimate up front and spell out the work to be done.

My boyfriend and I were in downtown Geneva checking out some of the shops before dinner when I…read morenoticed there was a plant store. I am so happy I found this place! Their plants look really healthy and they have an amazing selection. I had been looking for a scindapsus pictus (often called a satin pothos, but I learned while I was here that it's not actually a pothos). The nurseries I'd been to never had one and so I was pleasantly surprised they had quite a few to pick from! Laura was super helpful and kind! They have a really pretty setup. They sell adorable decor and plant pots as well. As someone who is new to plants, I appreciated Laura's expertise and advice. She answered all my questions thoroughly. I was advised that I could buy soil for my plants from them in the future whenever I need to repot. She gave me a plant card with information on how to care for my plant at checkout. I also joined the plant points program. I live kind of far but will drive out here again to buy another plant, soil, or anything else I may need in the future! If you're a plant person, you must visit GROW Geneva.

They have a good mix of common and more rare plants, and prices are reasonable for the most part. Their $5 Saturday in store and online plant special is always a good deal (the day I went it was a 4" peperomia frost in store and a 4" lipstick plant online). Their new store has more homewares, jewelry, and gifts/trinkets than their previous location, since this one has more space. They had some cute things. Definitely a fun place to browse, and for plant-lovers like myself it's extremely hard to walk out empty-handed.

I did think some of the produce was priced a bit higher than I expected, but overall it was still a fun experience. I also finally tasted the peach slushy. It needed more peach flavor, but it was refreshing, considering how warm it was outdoors. One of my favorite treats was the peach funnel cake. I asked them to add ice cream to make it a sundae, and it was absolutely delicious! One suggestion I'd love to see in the future would be a homemade peach puree or peach syrup to drizzle on top. I think that would take it to the next level. I didn't purchase admission to the area with the petting zoo and other family activities, so I also missed out on the beer garden and grilled food. I think it would be a great idea to have a few food trucks or additional food vendors near the farm stand for visitors who are just there to shop or enjoy the festival without entering the activity area. I definitely would have spent more on food if that had been an option. Overall, I had a wonderful visit!

Rude customer service with a side of crazy high prices!!…read more Bought from them at the Wheaton farmers market. In addition to a bad attitude from the woman that was "assisting" us and being snarky because of a simple question about a peach, I was told we had to buy the entire carton of peaches instead of 3 or 4 of them. She then hand placed each peach into a bag and when we got home, 2 of them were already super soft and over ripe with the skin pulled back. The grand finale to all this is the asinine price. Almost $30 for a handful of peaches and a tomato. Learned my lesson w this group. The other farm stand at the market provides a much friendlier experience and a slightly less sticker shock.

I was…read moremisdiagnosing the problem (thinking it was brown patch) all along and nothing seemed to work. Finally, I gave up and called Lawn doctor. Don (the owner) came to look over the lawn and he immediately found out the problem. He patiently explained to me the problem, showing the problem bug and even suggesting a solution. I was pleasantly surprised by his demeanor (very professional, not pushy) and decided to go with him for the application. Based on Don's suggestion, I could have been a prick and done the treatment myself from store purchased insecticides (I couldn't do it!). Don gave me a quote for two applications. I felt the quote was reasonable and justified. After the first application, the crew came to check the results. After checking the grass, (on the scheduled day of second application), I got a call that a second application was not necessary and therefore they hadn't applied it (and of course I wasn't charged for the second application). The company could have easily applied the second application and charged me for the same, and I would have probably paid for it without questioning. But the company didn't do it. It stuck to their morals. I personally felt very happy that such honest and trustworthy companies still exist even today. Now I know who to consult for all of my future lawn care needs and I would strongly recommend and endorse them for anyone looking for a lawn care company. (Note that I don't usually write out online reviews for companies, I only do so when I really feel touched by a companies gesture)
