Requested a simple quote--though I have to admit, I'm a bit baffled. Quoting a premium price without even coming out to see the job in person is impressive. I didn't realize photo-based estimating had become the gold standard for any type of professional work. Pure laziness. At that rate, I assume the crew shows up with x-ray vision and psychic powers? In all seriousness, for a price like that, I'd expect at least a site visit and a breakdown of where the costs are coming from. that's obviously not something this company offers, I'll continue looking for a company that actually assesses a job before pricing it like a luxury renovation. I would recommend staying away from this company. They only came and serviced our pool twice. The first time they backwashed my filter onto my decomposed granite and left ruts that I had to fix. Mark told us that our filter needed to be upgraded and provided a quote. We told him we would think about it but that we had just replaced the sand in our filter and didn't want to spend that much when our filter has worked fine for the past 10 years. We received an email from LuAnn saying they were still waiting to hear back from us about the filter, but again, we weren't interested and that wasn't what we contracted them to do. On the second pool service they cleaned the pool and turned on our water to add fresh water to our pool and never turned off our water. We found it still running that evening. Our pool had been overflowing all day. When we let Lu Ann know about it she simply replied saying she would let Mark know and again said they were waiting to hear about the filter upgrade. No apology at all. I called and spoke to Mark today because we returned from vacation to find our pool in need of service. Last week they were not able to come on our regular day but said they would come on Saturday. We looked at our cameras to see if anyone came and they hadn't. So I cleaned the pool myself and called Mark to tell him they didn't need to come tomorrow, which is our normal day. He got very defensive and accusatory. He didn't like that I knew my pool and asked why I needed a pool service company if I was such an "expert". He was condescending and rude. He has no concept of listening to a frustrated customer and instead attacks the customer. I finally told him there was no need to return and I hung up on him. I really just needed his company to show up consistently and clean/brush my pool and add chemicals. Instead a got a very confrontational, high pressure sales guy, with very little customer service skill. Seems like he knows a lot about pools, just horrible at customer service and very condescending. Would not recommend...to anyone...ever. read more

We requested an inground pool and spa. Everything was fine until we wanted to make a couple of changes prior to the start of construction. For reference, the plans and design had not been visited in about 6months when we went into contract. The owner tried to overcharge us for the changes, not once, but 3x all the way to the point of settling up to cancel the contract. He showed so much arrogance throughout the dispute, he refused to listen to the facts we were stating, and just kept saying we owed him money. Finally after getting his more level headed son involved, we were able to cancel the contract and he actually owed us money back from the original deposit. I'm so glad we dodged that bullet of having to work with him on such a big and expensive project. read more

His scheduling dept can't keep track of days and often won't show up at all. When they do they do the bare minimum. This business is doing some suspect activity to say the least. We had mark and his team remodel our pool just recently and it turned out soooo great!! They did tile, pebble tech plaster, new waterfall feature, water filter and pump. The whole process was great, we loved working with mark, he gave us great advice but he also let us make the choices! We were a little worried doing the pool end of May that we would miss swimming time but it was done super fast! We now have them servicing our pool and couldn't be happier! Mixed review on this company. I was selling my home and needed a status report on the condition of the pool in order to pass it on to the buyer. It took longer than I thought it should, the receptionist even said that the workman is a little slow, and the final report was too brief but it did suffice. The cleanup of the pool was very good and they did remove the diving board which was an add on, so that was good too. But the original reason for my business, the report, was lacking and therefore my review. read more

Definitely do NOT recommend. Unless you like being scammed, yelled at, and generally treated very poorly. We signed up for cleaning service for our pool 3 weeks ago - for an initial cleaning (that we were told would take at least 3 weeks) and then monthly service after that. On the very first day out, Mark began trying to pressure sell us into a bigger filter. The one we have is less than a year old and 3x bigger than what is required for our pool. Despite this and despite us saying that we weren't interested, Mark called us 5 times across 2 days pressuring us to buy this even larger system for $1000. When we told him no after the last time, he then called back less than an hour later. He had magically "just" came into possession of a used filter in the exact same model he had been attempting to get us to buy and could get it to us for half the cost. I'll trust you to follow the same logic on whether or not the "new" one we supposedly needed would have actually been new. We again said no and he said we would have to replace the cartridge for our filter then. We agreed to this and the filter was replaced without an estimate ever being provided to us. When we got the bill they had charged us 120% markup on the cartridge. We asked for a cost breakdown and were not provided one. Instead we were told that it was markup, removal and installation. Bear in mind that to replace a cartridge filter, you need only remove the top, pull-up and out to remove the old one, and drop the new one in - like replacing a coffee filter in the morning. It takes less than 10 min - so this definitely wasn't labor charge. When we got the reply to the cost breakdown request, we told Chambers we were canceling our service with them. At this point, they had been out 3 times across 2 weeks - twice for the cleaning and once for the cartridge install. We were then told we would need to pay the cleaning service charge, the cartridge charge, and the monthly service charge - an excess of $600. On top of all of this, the communication between the family who runs this business is extremely poor and confusing. As an example - one time where we were told via text to run our filter for 4 hours. Then, the next (and last time they came out) we were called and yelled at for only running it for 4 hours. I wish I was joking. I have never been treated so outrageously as this company has and would never recommend them to anyone. **Edit in response to Chambers reply below to add that most of his reply is either untrue or very skewed. Anyone looking for more information should check other reviews here, Next Door, and other review places. This company has almost nothing but bad reviews and people with similar experiences. read more

I called several pool places in town to ask about checking out a possible problem and setting up weekly services. Some companies never called me back at all, one called a few days later and told me they could come out in 2 weeks, but Mark called me back right away and showed up promptly. Mark and his son were super nice and seemed very knowledgeable. My husband and I appreciated them both and actually liked chatting with them. Within minutes, they'd tested the water and told us exactly what needed to be done to get it right. My husband ran to the store and bought what was needed, then Mark showed us how to add it and make sure everything was good. We planned to set up weekly service with them (which was actually cheaper than 2 other places who finally called me back). We were looking forward to having them take care of our pool, but then we got hit with several financial hardships all within a couple days, and we decided we couldn't afford the service right now. When I told Mark, he was very nice about it and didn't make me feel guilty for canceling. A couple days later, Mark called to make sure the pool still looked good. I asked him to advise me on how to turn off the heat (because the temp was rising so high during that heatwave). Instead of telling me over the phone, Mark came right over and showed me how to do it. He also noticed something wasn't running correctly with the filter, so he checked it all out and fixed the problem quickly. Mark never charged me for that visit, and I really appreciated that he genuinely wanted to help me. When things settle down for us, we will definitely hire Chambers to service our pool. read more

I was having major problems with my dads pool equipment. I was in the process of selling the house. We had a pool service but i would never get a call back for the owner our his service guys. Mark walked me through and recommended what needs to be done to not only get the pool back to being crystal clear but also have it remain that way. Threw a dart at the list of pool service companies because we needed help with an issue with our backyard spalshpad. Ryan came out and was beyond helpful. He helped clean and check both the filter and the pump, and when he determined those were not to blame for the poor flow to the splashpad he conceded that the likely culprit was not his area of expertise. But he did not just leave it at that and abandon us to find yet another blind grab at repair service. He gave several recommendations and went to great lengths to put us in touch with someone who could help us correct the issue with the spalshpad. Definitely a welcome surprise these days when most companies won't even return your calls. I would recommend Chambers 10/10. read more

We have a weekly service with Chambers Pool Service for close to a year now. During their first visit which was designed to assess for a quote, the auto top off was over flowing the pool into the yard. Not only did the crew stop to flow but they also fixed the problem on the spot without charging a dime. Additionally, last week the pool was looking a bit murky. I called and left a message with the shop and with in 5 minutes the owner returned my call and was on the way to my home with his crew to solve the issue. Within 12 hours the pool was crystal clear and the pump was reprogrammed for proper water flow! After spending 5 years working at the White House Medical Unit, I can say that I know what customer service is all about. Chambers pool far exceeded my standards!! read more
