Bought a "Blue certified" with an extended warranty that covered everything till 100K miles at a dealership 3hrs away. Called the dealer who I purchased it from with a question about a cracked steering wheel air bag cover. I was told by Solomon Ford that any dealer will fix it for me. I have purchased 5 different trucks from Champion. They are more interested in changing their commercials every other week than they are ensuring a good Service Dept. After never receiving a call from Butch or the Gen mgr of Service, I drove to ask status. I was then told that "Ford denied it" I said could you please check again, Solomon Ford has assured me over and over it is a covered item. I was getting no where with Champion and if you ask me one hand doesn't know what the other is doing. No one took the time to further investigate my issue. I told Solomon that I'd try another Ford dealership. BOB FERRANDO took 20mins to see it was covered and called the next day for pics. Within 2 days the part was ordered. I will forever be dealingbwith "Arlan" at Ferrando for the rest of my car buying days. BEWARE OF CHAMPION FORD's willingness to fix warranted parts! I took my car for recall to Champion Ford in Erie Pa on 12/29/2023. Ford technicians called first time to replace rear brakes and pad that I agreed to it and they charged premium price compared to any other garage in the area. Second phone call was to replace struts and tires that were still under warranty and quoted $900 for struts and never asked for price on tires.They also charged diagnostic fee $143 for nonexistent issues. I refused struts and new tires and took to garage that replaced both not even year ago and both were in good working condition and not needed replacement . I felt like Champion Ford took advantage and still were trying to get even more money. I wouldn't recommend anyone to take vehicles for any car issue as they showed intent to overprice services and misrepresented cars problems. read more

I took my car to have the tires rotate, and oil changed. Not only did they work quickly, and got it done right the first time. They also worked me right in for an alignment. The world can be a crazy place, but we haven't had an issue with this dealership. I also added some touch-up paint that they had to order. I took my car in on a Friday. They had the paint on Monday. I was on a road trip and was due for a quick service/oil change. This was one of the easiest and most professional places I've gotten my 2016 Escape serviced anywhere. They were super accommodating for my tight schedule- getting us in and out in barely over an hour despite being pretty busy. We were offered not only a ride, but a solid recommendation of a nearby lunch spot while we waited, and were picked up promptly when we finished. There were no tricks nor upselling, just a simple fast service and a very reasonable bill. I wish there was a Ford dealership that ran this well back home. If I'm ever around Erie again and need a service, I know where to come. read more

I had originally given Champion Ford a ONE start review after having an issue with a sunroof repair on a vehicle which ended up being 9 1/2 weeks total with various issues that seemed to keep popping up when it was said it would be a day and 1/2 repair/install job, Champion Ford reached out to me and they did offer a form of compensation for the "intricacies of my service issue" which was finalized today (08/12/2024) So I do greatly appreciate that they took the time to reach out and did make an effort to compensate for the frustration for the service issue I had experienced. This has been a learning experience for all involved. Thank you Champion Ford for stepping up and providing something for the inconvenience and frustration experienced and wanting to resolve this issue. Lets hope that this can be something we can learn from both from a customer standpoint and from a business standpoint. Proper communication is important and helpful to resolve issues. I own a used Mazda Tribute(Ford Escape) and after 150,000 miles had an issue with the computer. Champion got in me in very quickly during a very busy time. (Over 80" of snow caused havoc in the past week) so impressed with champion in getting me my vehicle fixed and returned in a very timely fashion. Don't play around with local garages for issues with your Ford. The professionals at champion will save you money in the long run!! One of their employees told me to write a terrible review for how they treated me. They had my car for over 2 months, kept calling me a pushing back the day of when my car was supposed to be done. Along with that they kept changing the price on me, it started off somewhat reasonable but ended up being 2X what they first told me. I talked with several people who had similar work done and it cost half of what Champion charged me. Never going here again and wouldn't recommend them! After researching many different outlets online I was frustrated beyond belief when trying to find floor mats for my 2017 Ford Escape. This whole process was particularly hard for me as I did not want to spend a lot, but also wanted a quality product. After getting outrageous quotes online I decided to call Champion Ford (although I assumed the dealer prices would be high). When dealing with their customer service I was very satisfied with their professionalism. They immediately found floor mats in the back and told me the price. The price that I was given was much lower than anything I found so I decided to buy from the dealer. The mats are very high quality, and I am overjoyed that I could get them at a cheap price. Had a recall on my Ford Edge. Got a post card in the mail to schedule it. Called the number had it scheduled for today. I am working I have my client who is disabled. Asked my boss if I schedule this would it be okay. She said sure. We had a plan. We get there and they tell us it was last Friday. I say that is not possible. I call the toll free number and they said there is no record of me calling but the Ford dealership has me down for last week??So if I didn't call how did they have an appointment for me??. I brought my client rearranged our schedule to make this happen. Years ago I stopped in to test drive a vehicle. I have a different client with me as I need my vehicle for work. I test drove 2 but needed to talk to my husband for a final decision. They would not give me back my vehicle. Yes you read that right!! They wouldn't give me back my vehicle!!! He said I need to ask my manager. This was an older gentleman. I said, you don't have to ask you manager, I want to go, I need to leave I have scheduled meds with my client. Again said, I am going to ask my manager. Thank God I knew a woman there Eloise. I told her what was happening. She apologized and got my vehicle back. Until today I have not been back there. I have bought 4 cars from them in 5 years. To day I was on there lot looking for a new pick up truck.in the process my cat ran out of gas Nobody would help it's 98' outside we offered money or 2 rent a can they said no. The gas pumps for this lot are next to us. If I don't get some NICE retribution for this I'm going to push and push and push. As of now on our way to community Chevrolet where they have the same f150 as here but way less. Not sure if I could become a customer again read more

We took our Ford Ranger into Champion Ford in Erie to have the recalled airbags replaced. Our brakes were fine went we dropped it off, but when we picked it up our rear brake line was broken and leaking. This brake line is damaged from above(under the hood) not damaged from beneath the vehicle. The service manager told us they were not responsible because they were never under the hood. To our knowledge the first step in replacing air bags is to disconnect the battery. This is a safety issue and also precaution against possible vehicle damage. So either they didn't follow proper procedure or they lied. The manager "reminded" us we refused the 7 point check up, but they did offer to fix the brake line for us and we would be charged for it. We will never go there again and cannot recommend them to anyone else! read more

Had a water pump fail on my Taurus which ultimately blew the motor. Took it to Champion, they quoted over $10k for a new motor and $7k for a used one. Called another shop in Erie and installed the used motor for under $2k. Never going there again.... read more

After the reply from someone who identified himself as an owner, I called to speak to him. He offered no help what so ever. To the contrary, he had his staff call to schedule maintenance on my truck despite my telling him that I would never trust them to touch any vehicle I owned. They called so frequently despite my demands that they stop that I traded my Ford in on a Chevy truck. So if you complain about them, do not be surprised that they try to harass you too! read more

Would never have been able to set up phones, programs doors or figure out all the bells and whistles. He was a huge help. Walked my mom thru all the instruments on car. This place is beyond terrible. Had an appointment for a regular state inspection. It apparently took them 2 hours to see a rotor. I was visibly irritated on the amount of time it took to do just an inspection. Watched the same employees wondering around aimlessly the whole time I was waiting. I asked 2 or 3 times if something was wrong and I was finally told that it takes 2 hours or so because they pull all 4 tires off. Really? Any idiot can pull 4 tires off with an impact driver up on a lift in less than 5 minutes. I'm almost 40 years old so I have had a regular annual state inspection done quite a few times. After 2 hours of frustration and impatience she came to get me to tell me they are failing the truck because of one rotor being pitted. They then had the nerve to put me as a paying customer on blast on social media (Facebook) and said the following......"Sorry you don't feel the same now as when you bought your vehicle, your review then was stellar. We will be sure to instruct our employees to appear more rushed when using the vending machine on their lunch break. Also, we have multiple openings for a qualified technicians, which may be of interest to someone with your skills. Apologies for taking too long, BTW - your gender has no bearing on the situation." I cannot believe the nerve of this business. Once they get your hard earned money from a vehicle purchase they could care less how they treat you!!! After car shopping for weeks, we stopped at Champion Ford in Erie. I was first impressed by the ample customer parking that was lacking at every other place we shopped. Merch Calabrese was actually waiting outside to greet us. I told him straight out that I practically had a car bought at another dealership and we were only here to see the color combo as we had to order the car in. He still gave us the attention one would receive if they were buying the car there. More knowledgeable than the other dealership, he politely pointed out features and qualities we didn't know, then asked if he could give us a price. He easily beat my price without the vague number shuffle I was used to. Even delivered it to my home in Albion. After the sale I realized the inspection would expire in 2 months and although not obligated to do so, Merch apologized and insisted I bring the car in at my convenience to update the stickers, then had it washed and filled with gas, all at no charge. All in all I couldn't have had a better experience. read more
