They usually use Evans Transportation if their kids can't pick them up. But because of COVID, Evans was not operating. Not wanting them to be stranded at the airport and knowing they don't know how to use Uber or Lyft, I decided to search for other alternatives. I knew I wanted something where I can pay in advance so my parents didn't need to worry about paying, and something that can drive them and their luggage directly home with no other passengers in the car. I looked at reviews on Yelp and saw that Golden Gate had some good ones. I compared prices to some other shuttle services as well and decided this was very reasonable. I sent out a message through Yelp and they responded quickly. I was able to set up a shuttle ride over the phone two days in advance to have my parents picked up from SFO. What I really liked and the reason I give this company 5 stars, was their clear communication. My parents are not clear communicators, so it was imperative that I needed a shuttle service that could understand and work with me to help my parents find their way from plane to shuttle. While I was stuck at work. Lol. They were able to check on my parents' flight status, and the driver arrived on time. My parents did not follow directions (I knew it) so the driver had to contact me, but they eventually contacted the shuttle driver and found each other. Once in the car they realized they did not have their house keys. Luckily, I work one exit away from their house and the driver was kind enough to make a stop by my work to pick up my copy of keys. I really appreciate the good service this shuttle company provided. I have not personally used this service, but my parents have said that they would definitely use them again. Ride was smooth, car was clean, driver wore a mask. At a time where we are experiencing a pandemic and stress levels are high, it's good to know getting a ride from the airport is one less thing to worry about. We spoke with Yad and was able to book him for a van for six people the day before we were to leave. So last minute of us but he was more than willing to accommodate us. It is so nice how Yad remembers me too! Very sweet guy and punctual too which is what I truly appreciate. My family were happy because they didn't have to worry about driving to the airport and figuring out where to park. We rented the limo from 6:00 pm-12:00 am. He showed up around 5:30 pm and waited patiently while the kids finished taking photos. He had cider, sodas and water for the kids along with glasses and cups for them. They could play their own music. Once they arrived at The Asian Art Museum in SF and he dropped them off, he texted me and sent a photo of them heading up the stairs and let me know they had arrived safely. He asked me to share his work phone number with the kids so that they could call him once the dance ended and they could find him just in case. He reassured me that they did not have to rush as well. He had them back home by 11:40 pm safe and sound. The kids said he was great. On the road the van was clunky. the headlights were pointing at the ground on the right side, the van vibrated real bad with the brakes. the driver was swearving from left to right. He almost slammed into the back of another car because he was trying to accerate faster than a car that was merging on the freeway. Apparently their phone system was down. Luckily I emailed them and received a reply that everything was confirmed. That was a stressful day. Trying to figure out Plan B. I hired them for my June wedding. What I rented was a White stretch limo (which seats 8 comfortably) and a White stretch Hummer. The limo drivers arrived at our pick up area on time in Napa. Myself and my ladies rode in the Stretch limo while my husband and his guys went in the hummer. When I entered our limo. I was shocked to see the interior so used up. There were cracks on the seats and carpet was dirty. Not what I was expecting from the pictures I saw online. My ladies and I celebrated and opened a bottle of champagne (which is included in the rental) and soda for the flower girls, along with bottle water. When we arrived at the church and I was getting out of the limo (obviously I would need help) the limo driver just stood there holding the door. WHAT??? It was my camera man who actually walked over to help me out. Then he probably realized "I better help her". I chuck it to a lot was going on and it probably didn't click. When it came time to go to our photo shoot. My husband and I took the stretch and the rest of the wedding party went into the hummer. The hummer is beautiful. Back to the other limo. When we got in. There was empty water bottles on the seats and empty soda cans in the bar area. Even in the hummer there was empty cans. What the heck! Even after the photo shoot the garbage was still not disposed of. This was not the first time I've rode in a limo (it's my 4th time) and it is not acceptable for garbage to remain in the vehicle. The drivers are waiting for an hour or even 2 hours for you. They should clean up all the garbage. Restock the bar with new water, soda and ice. You should not go into a limo with melted ice cooling your champagne, empty or half full soda and water. Poor use of time. In a nut shell rent the hummer and not the stretch limo. Just driving, waiting and opening the door is not the only thing a limo driver should do. Find some initiative. Not the greatest of service. Additional info: Minimum 4 hours of service.
