My parents needed a ride home from the airport after being stuck in the Philippines due to their flights being cancelled and rebooked multiple times. They usually use Evans Transportation if their kids can't pick them up. But because of COVID, Evans was not operating. Not wanting them to be stranded at the airport and knowing they don't know how to use Uber or Lyft, I decided to search for other alternatives. I knew I wanted something where I can pay in advance so my parents didn't need to worry about paying, and something that can drive them and their luggage directly home with no other passengers in the car. I looked at reviews on Yelp and saw that Golden Gate had some good ones. I compared prices to some other shuttle services as well and decided this was very reasonable. I sent out a message through Yelp and they responded quickly. I was able to set up a shuttle ride over the phone two days in advance to have my parents picked up from SFO. What I really liked and the reason I give this company 5 stars, was their clear communication. My parents are not clear communicators, so it was imperative that I needed a shuttle service that could understand and work with me to help my parents find their way from plane to shuttle. While I was stuck at work. Lol. They were able to check on my parents' flight status, and the driver arrived on time. My parents did not follow directions (I knew it) so the driver had to contact me, but they eventually contacted the shuttle driver and found each other. Once in the car they realized they did not have their house keys. Luckily, I work one exit away from their house and the driver was kind enough to make a stop by my work to pick up my copy of keys. I really appreciate the good service this shuttle company provided. I have not personally used this service, but my parents have said that they would definitely use them again. Ride was smooth, car was clean, driver wore a mask. At a time where we are experiencing a pandemic and stress levels are high, it's good to know getting a ride from the airport is one less thing to worry about. I usually use this service only for when I have to go on business trips (about once a year). This time I used for personal family trip. We spoke with Yad and was able to book him for a van for six people the day before we were to leave. So last minute of us but he was more than willing to accommodate us. It is so nice how Yad remembers me too! Very sweet guy and punctual too which is what I truly appreciate. My family were happy because they didn't have to worry about driving to the airport and figuring out where to park. Exceptional service, hands down. They provided airport service to SF for us during the extreme hours of about 3:30AM and Midnight for the return transport. They were early both times, which is awesome. Being on time is obviously important, but to be early to an appointment speaks more to me about their promptness. The day before we came back to the US, we got a message from Yad asking if our flight details hadn't changed. Got a quote on Yelp and finalized details via email. Quick to respond to emails and texts. Originally booked for departure but also ended up using for arrival as well. Both times were great rides - on time, vehicles were clean, wasn't texting/calling or using cell phone while driving . Our flight was actually early but our plane ended up sitting on the tarmac for 30min and we communicated any updates via text, and was very patient and understanding about the situation. Can't say enough positive things about Golden Gate Shuttle. Our usual driver was Yad, and he was outstanding. I used GGS quite a bit over a period where I was flying back and forth a lot between Chicago and the Bay Area. Taking BART late at night, and when only back in the Bay for a weekend just wasn't convenient or time effective. He was always there, and dealt with the frequent flight delays and late arrivals with patience and a smile. Also used them to pick up and drop off a sister-in-law, mother-in-law, and wife to the airport a couple times. Always there, always dependable, and trust me, sending a car service to pick up an in-law gets major points. Going from SFO to Benicia is no small task, let alone for a mother-in-law in her 80's. I needed a same-day 10 P.M. ride from Oakland Airport to Benicia. They were on time, courteous, and drove safely. I had looked at some other reviews for Benicia, and they were not very good. Either they were late, never showed up, or the drivers were lacking in driving skills and business courtesy. A relative suggested Uber, but quite frankly, I do not trust them because recent media stories show that their driver and vehicle safety screening really sux big time. I had to take a trip back to the east coast earlier this month, which meant travel through SFO. I like to take BART because it's so easy, but flight was leaving early, so there was no way BART would get me there early enough using the first train of the morning. I thought about using Uber (never have yet), and checked out the price from Benicia to SFO, and it wasn't cheap, and the idea of riding in someone's Prius at 4 in the morning was hardly exciting. I checked out Yelp and that led me to Golden Gate and Yad. I made the call, and I got a person with a professional demeanor answer on the other end. Alright! He told me his name was Yad, and I told him my situation. He told me he could accommodate my schedule, and when I asked about price, he was better than Uber. Reservation set! He was right on time, got me to SFO with plenty of time to spare, and was nothing but courteous. I decided then I'd have him pick me up on the way home, and he told me, "No problem." I texted Yad my flight info for the trip back. What was supposed to be a flight arriving back at SFO around 10:30 pm on Friday night ended up being a series of problems. I kept Yad apprised of the problems, and he never suggested to find other arrangements. I ended up meeting him curbside around 1:45 am Saturday morning. He was right there, grabbed my luggage and got me home quick and safely. No extra charges, no complaints, just great service! I know if I have any shuttle or limo needs, Yad's my guy. read more

If you are not sure which limo service you need to choose, trust me, you must go with Golden Gate Shuttle. YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT!! My husband and I live in Northern VA, and we were looking for a limo service that could accommodate our needs for our wedding in Sonoma, CA last month in September. All of our out of town guests were staying at Best Western in Sonoma while the church was only 2 blocks away and the reception venue was 10 mins away from the church. We simply needed a few limos to transfer 36 guests to and from the hotel and the venue. All of the limo service we contacted for estimates said that they would charge the 5 hour minimum, but we did not want to pay for it as we only needed rides to/from the hotel and the venue, 5 hours apart. We found Golden Gate Shuttle when we started talking about giving up on the limo service option for our wedding. Yad, the owner of Golden Gate Shuttle is the BEST! He only charged us the two rides we got to/from the church and the venue, not the 5 hour minimum nonsense. There were some miscommunications on our end that picking up our guests did not go as smooth as planned after the wedding, but this is no fault to Yad. He showed up with two lifts on time as instructed and again they were there again when we were ready to leave the reception venue. They were very pleasant, courteous and punctual. That's everything you need from a limo service, right? The service was beyond expectation that we decided to use them for the winery tour next day. I had 8 of my family members who came to our wedding all the way from Japan, and I wanted them to experience the Napa/Sonoma scene during their visit. Again, he was on time, courteous and generous offering a bottle of campaign for all of us. Next day, a few of my family members had to catch the early flight from SFO, so I was going to call Uber or local airport shuttle, but once again, we were so satisfied the service Yad provided, we used the Golden Gate Shuttle again!! Everything went perfectly, but this is not the end. There is one more thing Yad did for us even after we came back home in VA!!! My uncle from Japan left his sunglasses in the limo during the winery tour. I immediately contacted Yad, but we were already on the way to SFO. He offered to send the sunglasses to Japan (remember, he did not have to do this!!!). Sure enough, I got a copy of the USPS receipt confirming the shipment to Japan!! I'm the last person who would provide reviews on Yelp.
