The company has always been good to me. When a hurricane destroyed my car and part of our house, the claims process was easy. They've been fair and offer many different discounts. Came back to Maine 3 years ago. Lisa's office (I've worked with her and Kyle) is great! Everything is always taken care of (changing policies, moving accounts, getting new quotes etc) very quickly and professionally. One of the few businesses I know I can ask and then forget about it because it WILL be done. Filed for reimbursement on a lockout today, the check was ready within a couple hours. Awesome!!! I've been loyal so State Farm for a while. As long as I'm here, I will work with this specific office.

Just to get my stuff switched over it was a nightmare. I would try calling in and sometimes it took days for me to get a call back if at all. Took for ever to just get the account setup then after that they started messing up my payments. That was the last straw, they called me saying I had held my payment, which I had not done. I talked to Peggy and she was unhelpful and rude. Never apologizing and saying the issue was I was paying with a credit card, blaming me. This office is disorganize, and has no customer service except for one women, Lizzy. The rest of them can care less, once they had me as a customer they dropped me and only want their money and do not care at all about having happy customers.

I would rate this company negative if I could. My 90 year old dad worked 30 years with CMP. All his…read moreretirement paperwork showed he had a $33000 life insurance policy with Met life until death. He retired in 1994. His online benefits as of Nov , 2024 still show a $33000 policy. After his death, it took months for my siblings and myself to obtain payment. We each recieved $8200. We even received a letter informing us that was the expected amount for each of the four of us. Now, Met Life via mail is telling each of us we were overpaid!. The letter states that his original life insurance certificate had a line stating after age 65 his policy amount would be reduced by 10% yearly. Met life is saying the most it can be worth is $10000, so we each have to repay $5700!!. Horrible, Horrible company... Stay away!!!

The only reason I'm not giving this one star is because I remember the woman I first met with when…read moresetting up my policy (Kris I think) was very pleasant and helpful. My customer service interactions with the front desk since then, however, have been awful. I am relatively young and new to the insurance world--I learned while at the Town Hall that my insurance card expired two months ago. I called D&H and the woman on the other end came off as very rude, I felt she was yelling at me and scolding me. Apparently my coverage lapsed in April and they sent me mail about it--but I never received that mail. I had mail from the address I signed up with forwarded to my new one, although I had not yet informed the insurance company of my new address (thought the post office forwarding would work in the mean time). The woman came off as accusatory--she seemed to be yelling at me and told me I should have let them know about my change of address, and now my rates will be higher because almost no one will take a client who has lapsed in coverage. I should have let them know sooner, yes, but the way she spoke to me made me feel defensive and attacked. I also want an insurance company that will try to reach me with more than just a letter (phone call, maybe) if there is an extra form I have to fill out that I wasn't aware of before my coverage lapsed. You'd think they would have called me if I had to do something to keep my coverage. They've lost my business
