I explained that I didn't mind paying more if my taxes were done properly, but the tone and attitude made it clear I was being stereotyped and judged based on where I'm from. The manager tried to apologize and insisted that I was not denied service because of my nationality but by then, the damage was done. I felt humiliated, disrespected, and unwelcome. I ended up in tears. No one should ever have to feel discriminated against, especially when seeking professional services. Discrimination has no place in business, and I hope this office reflects seriously on how they treat people from different backgrounds. Before I even sat down, I told her I wanted a quote on how much my tax refund would be filing with them...since H&R Block and another flushing CPA (Ruth Wu - Sr.Accountant of Liberty Accounting & Tax Services) provided me with their quote. All she was willing to tell me was that it's $50 to file, take it or leave it.... but they won't offer an estimation to let people shop around. So why have me sit down, and then look at all my documents??? I get more friendly faces attempting to file my taxes online with turbotax right now... they got cute pictures too and very user friendly platform... not to mention, cost less too. In short.... you're a paid service.... so how about learning some customer service skills ?? a smile? nicer phrasing when speaking to people? Unfortunately, my experience was extremely disappointing and concerning. During the pre-engagement period, Sandy was responsive and helpful. However, after I signed the engagement letter, key components of the originally discussed scope were omitted without adequate clarification. I take responsibility for not catching this in the final agreement--lesson learned. In a rush to get things done, I agreed to additional charges to complete my 2024 financials. Immediately after providing my payment information, my card was charged more than we discussed. While frustrating, I allowed it, hoping to get my tax returns completed without further issues. Over the next two months, I received little to no progress updates. Instead, I was asked for even more money, despite our flat-fee agreement. At one point, I received a generic email stating that my tax return extension was filed--but I never received confirmation or a copy, which is standard practice with every other CPA I've worked with. When I finally pressed for clarification, I was ignored for several days. Eventually, I was sent a letter explaining that the IRS had rejected my Form 7004 extension due to a software issue, and that a paper submission had supposedly been mailed. This was never communicated to me at the time it happened. By this point, I had also discovered that no bookkeeping work had been completed--despite already being paid for. I made the decision to terminate the relationship. As of today, I have not received any completed bookkeeping work. The only thing I received was a partially prepared tax return that I would never file, as I genuinely believe it could risk triggering an audit. In my opinion, Canna CPAs operates with poor communication, lacks transparency, and did not deliver on the services I paid for. Proceed with caution and make sure you read every line of any engagement letter before signing.

I had a sensitive and unique issue that could only be addressed by a CPA. But not just any CPA, I needed someone that was knowledgeable and would be able to defend their work in case of an audit. After searching around, I came across Ahad & Co and what a relief and blessing they are. I simply called them, explained my issue, then I was connected with one of their professionals. The CPA confirmed that it was something they could tackle and we began the process. At the time, I was working with Tarikur, an absolute treasure to work with! He explained what needed to be done, asked all pertinent questions, and guided me thru the process. In the end, I came back with an awesome refund, and greater than that, I had a peace of mind with regard to my situation. Fast forward to 2026, I did not hesitate to have them prepare my taxes again. Unfortunately, Tarikur is no longer there, but I was assisted by Akram. There were some delays but he completed my taxes before the deadline and his did a great job preparing everything. I found it very easy to review my return and understand his rationale for his preparation. Furthermore, I received a great return again and I could not be more pleased! Aside from my experience with the staff, I really appreciate their customer portal. There is no need to email anything because you can upload all of your documents to their secure portal. You can also chat with your rep, pay your invoices, and download your returns, all in one place. I especially appreciated that as a returning customer, all my documents were there, so Akram was able to see what was done last year. Super efficient! In terms of pricing, they will seem high if you are used to doing your own taxes or maybe you've gone to a local tax preparer. However, it's important to understand that these are true tax experts who can navigate any situation, so you're in good hands. If you are dealing with a sensitive tax situation and want a peace of mind, I highly recommend using them. I filed on the deadline last year and ahad&co, cpa literally…read morenever filed my taxes. Just didn't file them at all. I reached out to them months later inquiring about the filing for another matter and they casually informed me they never filed them. They offered plenty of excuses, blamed me for filing them within the legal submission parameters (i.e. on/by April 15th), and offered zero compensation for their egregious error. They actually proceeded to charge me the full amount to file and even expected me to pay the late-filing & extension fees that I incurred as a direct and sole result of an accounting firm's inability to file taxes! Every single representative I have dealt with is allergic to accountability and deals exclusively in excuses. Shameful and unprofessional behavior all around... especially from Edderkys Gonzalez and the ceo, Ahad Ali. He is full of excuses all while admitting they screwed up. They offered $100 off of preparation service for this year...I immediately declined. Then they offered $200 off and I immediately declined. That is a fraction of what they cost me already from last year in late penalties alone and the ceo told me the absolute most he could discount tax preparation at his own company was $200. Clearly a lie. He's the ceo of a small, private, company...not the ceo of Goldman Sachs.
