My boyfriend came here specifically to buy new tires and get them mounted for brand new rims for his car. Located near ward and across the street from the U-Haul storage place and next to Bliss (Haircut shop) is where you'll find this awesome shop. After messaging about 6 other shops, chance customs stood out from the rest. The best customer service out there from an auto shop. The owner Francis, helps his customers from setting up appointments, answering questions about projects, and giving suggestions from his automotive experience. His super fast and informative responses via yelp and instagram showed us he really cares for his customers and is passionate about his work. My boyfriend Shaun, brought new rims in for a complete new set of tires and after his reccomendation was able to found the perfect fit and ride for the car especially this set of tires are for aftermarket rims with a stretch. Love these guys. Super honest, true to their quote. Reached out to these folks in need of an aftermarket headlight installation and Francis responded back and helped me out. He was a great guy, talked good story and helped to guide me through what was necessary. Joe installed the headlights and was very thorough to make sure everything worked. Needless to say it looks amazing and these guys did a great job. Would highly recommend anyone come here for any custom or aftermarket work.

Long story short another shop installed my lower ball joint, struts, and upper control arm and lower ball joint ended up collapsing on the next day. Thank God it was just on the parking area. Just took one call from chance customs and they were able to get me in just an hour and resolve all the issues that was caused by the previous "diesel mechanic" just want to thank Francis and he's crew! Man. Chance from the beginning to the end was the most polite, patient, informative and respectful person I've met when it comes to dealing with aftermarket wheels. The work that he did on stretching my tires was fast and great quality. His prices are really fair also. What really made me respect him even more was I was at fault for loosening my valve stem when I tried to reinstall and put air into the wheels. Chance told me to come back and he drove all the way from his home and back to the shop to fix it for no charge. There aren't too many guys like him in the import industry anymore and Im so glad I chose Chance Customs. read more

Picked up an '08 Mustang "Bullitt" version which I've always wanted after watching Steve McQueen as a kid jump through the streets of San Francisco in the original '68 GT 390 Fastback variant. in the movie by the same name. I was lucky to find a S-197/5th Gen "Bullitt" this far west (thank you JMac \m/) but wanted to turn it into a daily driver, so mods had to be taken off and put back to OEM. In this case, the suspension. While I love the look of the "lowered lifestyle", the handling of the car and all of that, the truth is on Honolulu roads your constantly having to dodge potholes that are more that happy to crack/bend a rim, knock suspension out of alignment or a whole bunch of of other potential problems not to mention taking speed bumps etc. at 45 degree angles in hopes that you don't "bottom out" and give yourself a heart attack. Enter Francis and the boys at Chance Customs. I explained what I wanted to do (get the car back to OEM ride height) and they took care of me with top notch service, both in the office and out in the service bay. the car rides sooooo much better back at the proper height not to mention I'm no longer scared shitless when I'm staring down upcoming speed bumps. It'll take another couple of weeks for the installed springs, struts and shocks to settle in and maybe drop 1/4 " which is perfect. Yes yes I know, I could have gone the "coilover" route, but I knew that I was never going to lower the car again, so why bother? Oh and then the potholes....nope! The bottom line is the car is fun to drive again, still plenty responsive and still plenty bite in the corners with the stock bullitt strut tower brace installed. I've got some other projects I want to do like new rubber and suspension refresh both front and back - I'll be heading back to Francis to get it done right and with Aloha! You should too. read more

Took my truck to get aligned after installing aftermarket adjustable front struts and upper control arms. Upon inspection the auto tech found some issues on my lift kit which Francis had installed 6yrs ago (wasn't because of the job he did. It was the lift kit itself). Couldn't get the truck aligned unless those issues were fixed. Contacted Francis. Sent some pics of the issues. He said they can do job. Dropped it off. Was finished at the estimated time he gave me. He also wants to make sure the customer is satisfied by showing the work they did before leaving. He got a forever customer. Highly recommend. Much Mahalo'z read more

Francis man...im speechless. My truck looks so much better now thanks to you and your expertise! Sent a yelp message to a bunch of shops and out of all of them Francis was the only one who took the time to educate me on what would work best for my truck. Hands down this man knows what customer service is! I had one shop reply to me with a simple "nah" when I asked for help. Not gonna put them on blast here! Took my truck in today for a 2" Rough Country leveling kit, 1.5" spacers and BF Goodrich KO2's on my stock rims. My wife and I was floored by the results and VERY happy with the service that they provided at Chance Customs. I could have gone to another shop but I chose Chance Customs because of the time Francis dedicated for me in educating me on why one kit would work and what not. Francis got me in within a day to mount some 305's that several other places said they couldn't mount. Dropped them off and he had them done in less than an hour. Should be 10 stars! My Neighbor is a mechanic and said he could do it, but said honestly "Chance is the place he would go if he was dropping a truck." So I hit them up on Fb. Francis was super responsive. I dropped by and he had another silverado on the rack. He showed me the best drop kit to use. We talked about the pros and cons of the different kits 2/4 vs. 3/5. Shout out to Francis at Chance Customs. From day one of requesting a quote (quick responses) to changing my appointment twice to the day i got my rims installed, he showed so much patience, aloha, and professionalism. Francis was able to provide a service that 90% of tire/rim companies could not do, which was to install my new rims on my current tires that I had on my vehicle which included mounting and balancing. A lot of other places wanted me to buy new tires with the installation (I expected that's how most places operated) or just did not offer the service at all due to "risk." If they did offer this service they charged what I thought was a little ridiculous. The location is a small little shop at a busy intersection so make sure to drive slow when you get around the area. Nice thing is that you have whole foods and the entire Ward complex to kill time while you wait. GO SUPPORT LOCAL & Highly recommend Chance Customs. read more

My car was ready within 45mins. The dash did have a crack which James showed me and offered to replace it at no charge. James, Justin, and Erin seem to work well together and treat each other with respect and this business seems to run pretty smooth. I just get a good feeling of trust when I go see them. They are in the business to help people not rip you off. But parking and dropping off your car can be a slight challenge. Just be patient the team is great about helping you to drop your car. No appointment needed for safety check or was not rudely turned away from auto mechanic shops when it gets too busy despite making calls and waiting/confirmation before coming over. Still do not need to get out of the car but just need to get your required documents ready as well as the mileage since they will ask from you verbally and check your odometer. Need to follow the staff instructions as asked and they do check window tint. They usually take out the old safety stick and place new one on your bumper but this time, the staff just placed it over my old which I didn't like. I tried asking but no time so maybe next time... This place can get busy since I had to park on the side and wait in line queue outside and reversing back into traffic on queen street can be intimidating at times when it is busy after all is done. $27 safety check fee which includes tax (but add $3 more if paying by debit/credit card). Some stuff changed but still I would still consider this place again for safety check and for convenience.

What truly stood out, though, wasn't just the quality of his work--it was him. My family was with me, and Greg treated all of us with such genuine kindness, respect, and aloha. After a fishing day with my family, squid juice spilled into my car and soaked into the carpet. The smell was awful. No matter what I tried, it wouldn't go away, and I genuinely thought my car was permanently ruined. Of course, I reached out to Greg--and once again, he worked his magic. NEWEST UPDATE: Aloha folks -- i've updated my review as…read morethere has been some progress. Greg reached out to me explaining that based on the video I sent, it appeared that the ceramic coating was working, but not how it should be. He asked if I could bring the vehicle in so that his team could wash it, and verify this in person. We agreed that I would drop my vehicle off on Friday. This will allow for a pickup on Saturday. Upon drop off, his guys, Zane and Kato accepted the vehicle and tested the ceramic. Right away, Zane said that it wasn't reacting correctly. I left my keys with them and was told that the vehicle would be ready for pickup the following day and I would be notified by call or text. Saturday -- Premiere is open until 6pm. Once 5pm came around I was admittedly starting to get a little bit nervous seeing as how I needed my car for work on Monday, and I knew they were closed on Sunday. I attempted to call and received no response. Living closeby, I just decided to head over. I got there about 540pm. Greg was there detailing the interior of a car. He had plenty of vehicles to take care of. He was friendly and apologized for the lack of communication, citing that he was swamped with the influx of vehicles. He explained that my car was "done" but that he, himself, had taken issue with it. When we approached my car, it was clear that work had been done. But upon closer inspection, there were water spots on my glass and streak marks on areas, exacerbated by the light from his cell phone flashlight. He was able to quickly wipe some of them off. He again apologized and said that he didn't like the work that was done and asked if he could keep my vehicle until Tuesday so that it could be completely redone. This I respect. Alot. For a boss to take ownership of their work and the work of their employees goes a long way. I left it -- picked it up on Tuesday. The car looks fantastic. Here's to waiting it out and see if the ceramic holds this time around. Very glad that I chose the boys at Premiere. Will update in a week :) ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Aloha all! Second time using the boys at Premiere Island Auto Detail. They did an amazing job on my camaro, that I felt it only right to use them for our SUV. My last interactions with Greg (the owner) and his team were nothing short of amazing. He is a personably guy. I reached out to them asking for an interior and exterior detail on my 2023 Mazda CX50. After some back and forth on the services, I ended up changing my service to a "basic" ceramic coating (which includes an exterior detail to prep it) and full interior detail. The price was amazing. Greg takes care of his customers. I wont mention it here as pricing can always change. As a reminder to anyone reading this -- its always a nice gesture to tip them, though, not required. Greg was able to take my car pretty quickly. I made the appointment for a drop off on Saturday. For those of you that don't know, ceramic coatings require a curing time, and therefore, I needed to leave my vehicle overnight. The garage is secure and under surveillance. It is easily accessible in the downtown area. I came back the next morning to pickup my car. It looked stellar! The lighting really makes the cars pop too. The exterior looked brand new (minus water spots that apparently weren't able to be removed from the 3m decals). The interior also looked great. I had some minor pet fur still embedded, but nothing to harp about. I noticed that the trunk space wasn't addressed though. No biggie. Now the reason for my decrease in rating: I want to start off by reiterating that Greg and his team are excellent dudes to work with. They are friendly, fast, and do good work. My Mazda, this time around, just isn't what I expected from them. I haven't been able to get back for the car wash because the weather has been awful -- so its been a little bit of time since the coating. There are some spots where the ceramic is noticeable. Particularly under the side mirrors, you can see the coating is still there and streaked on. The new formula that they used on this "basic" coating, definitely shows a difference. Maybe this coating only included one pass over, i'm not sure, but the beading effect just isn't there. Dirt and grime still clings to the car and it doesn't wash off with water. The roof doesnt appear to have been coated, but I could be wrong. The wheels were not coated. I am unsure if the glass was coated. The trim appears to have been coated but not wiped off properly. Anyway, do I recommend them? Absolutely. I still think they do good work at a great price. However, I would strongly encourage you to ask about their options for ceramic coating and not get a lesser package. Mahalo Premiere
