Did my lift here years ago, also this event happened years ago. (review is very late, but started thinking as I saw ads for them on Facebook regularly, people need to be aware of their practice) apparently they didn't tighten the steering knuckle lower 2 bolts on my Tacoma, clearly before I left I saw a thread sticking out on the lower control arm bolts, didn't say anything as I'd thought they'd honor their work, and thought they possibly even messed up the threads on that bolt that was loose which is why it didn't go all the way in, (as a mechanic I'm not going to touch something I'm afraid will break which would turn to my fault, liability is pretty important in the automotive service industry) they reassured me before I left that everything was perfect even though the skid plate wasn't installed as well until I said something, then within less than 6000 miles down the road and within less than a 6 month period, lower control arm came loose and went straight to the floor, took it back to them with a tow truck and they charged me for the labor to replace a lifetime warranty part from rough country as well as a CV axle that got damage due to collateral damage from the bolt coming loose. Clearly they didn't tighten the bolt with their response as "we loctite everything" well loctite only goes a long way when the bolt is torqued with a torqued wrench. A real shop would've comp everything and own up to their mistake and repair it for free due to technician negligence. But that didn't happen, rather just down another couple hundred dollars, around $800-1,000 to fix their mistake. But I mean the lifetime part was free which was great, one company at least honored something. Never coming back here again, neither will ever be involved with this shop ever again. Still have my receipt and can easily warranty stuff yourself on rough country website. Wasn't going to argue with these guys in person as they're pretty intimidated and aggressive when you put them on the spot. So it's easier to result in online reviews and let people know their practice as they're also firm with whatever they say with no room for talk or solution unless I'm guessing legal action is taken or a harsh review is made. They honestly just hungry for money, made the victim an even bigger one. read more

So I went to Goodyear thinking that Tony would be there, but he left 2 years ago. Now I see why? Because they are so so bad. Not only did I get into some sort of screaming match with several of the employees, one guy called me a Karen, another set that I was just a woman. And what do I know? Another said, you know, don't you? Women just know about shopping. I was livid and didn't know what to do at this point. So I screamed and said, I want my car, I just want my car. Not sure where things went wrong and how I'm one of the few who had a bad experience but when it comes to professionalism, this company doesn't seem to have any. I called in last night around 4 to see if I could get spark plugs and coils changed out. I was told to show up tomorrow (today) and it would be taken care of. I dropped it off at 10am today. I did not get one phone call or email, after being told before I left that they would check it out and call me with a price range. I call them two times with only one response. I was told they did not work on it one bit and they wanted to keep over night. I don't know about anyone else and I realize it's always island time here but things need to be done in an orderly, timely fashion. Bought some spacers from these guys couple years ago. Been called them to ask what brand it was. Since I wasn't too knowledgeable about it it when I purchased it and never dawned on me to ask. Didn't say on receipt butt charged me over $300. So I go in to get tire rotation and brake job with another reputable mechanic and show me the hack job they did to my car. Not sure what cheap brand he bought off Amazon which he tells me when I'm asking him now. But the only one I could find was some generic brand that cost $50 for 4 spacers. So I kept calling this guy "Dino" and some female, think is his wife who keeps telling me he busy in the back and when I do get in touch with him he says he'll look it up and send me a pic of the spacers he ordered. I told him the spacers were corroded and looked like it was rusting. He says to me they are aluminum and cannot be. I told him I'd send him pics. Also cut the bolts to fit spacers but cuts were not clean and fllush and not below the spacers. My mechanic had to recut to make it flat and flush. My mechanic said that was one of the worst hack jobs putting on simple spacers he's ever seen and if he had not caught it the wheel could've came off because the wheel want flush due to not smoothing out the bolts after cutting them. These guys are shady as he'll. DO NOT TAKE YOUR CAR THERE! over priced, lousy customer service and there work is horrible. To your comment Dino I never told you i had spacing issues with brakes and my wheels were stock wheels not bought off online. I just wanted my tires with more aggressive look and stick out closer to fender and the tires were purchased from you with roughly 33-34k miles on my vehicle on 8/27/22 (you did not take odometer reading, not sure why as most companies would) and when you read the tread on tire on 2/26/25 it was 64,130 miles so that's about 30k miles the tires warranty is 50k-60k depending on type. So get your facts straight. As for your story about my children, I said if the spacers failed due to improper installation or faulty parts I wanted to know what brand the spacers were so if there was an accident and my wheels fell out I would want to know who to go after. My children are always in my car with me, if they were to end up in the hospital or anything were to happen to them due to a faulty car part or it's installation someone would be held responsible. I kept asking you for the brand numerous times and left numerous messages but you never responded. As far as the Installation of the spacers the pictures don't lie. It is not leveled flat and the ride wasnt as smooth and more bumpy but you said it would be with wider stance. Had to get them redone and ride became much smoother. Also prices of generic spacers has not gotten cheaper. Stayed same or got even more expensive. Also Nitto tires company has requested a BOL number from you so that they can track the tire down. If you even sent it that is. Sent you an email so if you can reply it would be greatly appreciated. Also you should check your workers, the one time I got my tires rotated there (because it was free with tire purchase, didn't document or keep records of tire rotation either) your guys never rotated them. I know because my one scuffed rim on right front wheel was in the same place. Tried to be nice and not mention it because i know you wouldve just denied it. That's why I started taking back to Honda and paid for tire rotation and not go back to your place even though it was free. read more

My sons catalytic converter was stolen from his car and he was going to go through his insurance but the shop that they wanted him to use had a 4 month wait. A good friend of mine told me to call Dino because his moms car had hers stolen as well. Dinos wife Jacqueline answers and is the sweetest! Came here following day when they opened and they had many options in stock, was able to take me right then and there. Quick change. Super happy! Came back a month later cause car felt wobbly at low speeds and when driving highway speeds got worse (no pulling, alignment was ok), they took a look at it. Nothing seen, but they test drove it and felt it too. They switched out and upgraded my tires. They explained what happened. They made sure after changing tires out that it wasn't occuring still. DJ is honest and straightforward. He did everything that he needed to do to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Update: Upon arrival and first interaction with Dino, he treated me poorly and insisted that the leak was due to a super small dent in the rim, also when I approached his crew member who was working and I asked quite nicely if I could see the leak in correspondence with the dent the guy (without a mask) proceeded to venomously say "he was working on another vehicle" And "When he's done with it" (Refering to Dino) with a very ugly expression on his face then he wiped the rims he had quite obviously finished with already, he spent 3 mins or so wiping once on each rim then realized I wasn't going away so he went in the back I'm sure to get me off his back. While Dino showed me the leak with water while the tire was still on He continued to insist that the minor damage to the rim caused said tire to leak but I refused and since he came off as a bit condescending I decided to tell him I would like to see the tire with off the rim so I could take a picture for my Yelp review. He then completely switched demeanor because then I suddenly wasn't a young boy who was trying to fix his tire but a paying consumer with the power of Yelp Anyways, the rest of the time he was actually quite helpful and nice and treated me like a customer I'm just kind of peeved that I had to use that. He replaced the tire afterward and some small talk but i don't think I'll be visiting DJs for my next set and I'll leave the pictures from my visit for you to decide if I'm wrong I'm leaving 3 stars instead of 2 because my car is up and running again and Janine(idk how to spell her name) on the phone was very friendly and professional even though dealing with them was a headache Also on the phone with Jeremy he gave me a quote for $710 for one rim and tire yet while Dino was playing nice with me he told me to report it to the gov and get a settlement and he proceeded to give me a quote for $400 just thought that was a bit funny read more

Went to get muffler / resonator delete. Went in and was pretty good price compared to other places. Took a while but it was fine. Noticed after driving for a few days had exhaust smell and exhaust sounded bad. Ended up finding a exhaust leak on the part where they removed the resonator. Made a bad farting sound on acceleration. Also found my exhaust tips crooked. They offered to fix but I just went to rads instead. read more

Outstanding customer service! I went to the Kapolei Goodyear because i had a bolt and washer between the treads of my driver side rear tire. The tire was holding air but obviously i had to either repair it or replace it. I pleaded with the woman at the register to patch it so i could get to a Doctor's appt at QMC in town. If i cancel same day i get charged $150.00! The woman at the register told me she could not help me and i would have to schedule an appt. I scheduled for two days later at Noon because that was first available! Mind you i live alone on the West side of the island and work in town. If i don't work, i don't get paid! Needless to say i had a blowout driving West on H-1 after my Doctor's appt! I ended up meeting Bernie an amazing Wahine who drives a tow truck with Cachola Towing and although she was pau with work she stopped to help me! Amazing person with a giant heart filled with Aloha. Bernie towed me to DJ's Motorsports in Kapolei and less than an hour later they replaced my rear tires and balanced them. Outstanding service! Love Love Love Dino & Jocelyn....Those that don't know, that's what DJ stands for lol. My tundra's catalytic converters were shot when my piston rings blew and had to replace the motor. When I found out that my truck has multiple cats & would be close to 7k to get them replaced with OEM, I started researching other options. Went to several shops both repair shops & exhaust shops. Got several quotes. DJ was my last stop. DJ was able to get me in Magnaflow High Performance Cats & added Magnaflow Mufflers, pipes & tips for nearly half of what everyone was charging for the cats only. One cat went bad , brought my truck in , they checked it & he was able to warranty them, get a replacement & installed them and now everything is cherry. Came to the shop with one thing to fix and left with another. He truly cares for his customers and wants to ensure their satisfaction with their services. Went to get quoted for exhaust in waipahu the day before for a ridiculous amount, came to DJ's motorsport way more affordable and awesome quality work. We explained to Dino that we wanted her LOUD lol.. Dino took our suv in and thought he had a certain exhaust in stock that was the super 10's. To lift, or not to lift? That is the question.......when you're a truck owner. Personally, the answer was yes for me since I have grown tired of my Chevy's low-profile look. However, I am what this generation calls a "noob" when it comes to the lifted truck game. I didn't know where to begin! So, I went on Yelp and requested a quote from a handful of custom auto shops, explaining in brief detail my truck's current height status and what I ultimately wanted done to it. DJ's Motorsports was the only one that responded and they asked that I come in to the shop so the owner Dino could take a look at my truck. They responded relatively quick (less than 12 hours) and I appreciated their willingness to help me. I visited the shop early on a Saturday morning and was immediately directed to the office by a friendly (although intimidating) tatted up technician with braids. I met the man himself, Dino, as soon as I entered the office and after a quick introduction from me, we both went outside to my truck. He had me turn the steering wheel to each side so he could get a look at the setup. It had rained earlier in the morning and the ground was wet, but that didn't stop Dino from getting down on his back to look at my truck's under carriage. Gotta love that type of dedication! After a while, he explained to me what needed to be done and was kind enough to give me a solid quote. Dino answered all of my "noob" questions and he seemed to know all the answers. However, he didn't come off as pretentious or high makamaka, and took my half-dim witted questions in stride. I appreciated that part of my visit a lot! Even though I left the shop with just a quote and the same low-pro truck I arrived in, my pride was still in tact, and I gained some confidence in knowing that when I was ready, my truck was gonna be in good hands here. Needed work done. I had parts I needed installed. Browsed around. Got in-touch with a few shops. No availability until 1-2 weeks out. Understandable. It's FCFS. I'm not the only one. Who needs work done. And I respect that. Gave DJ's a call. Asked me what I needed done. And without any further questions. Took my car in. That same day. Was very grateful. Phone etiquette was good. Friendly & business oriented. Attentive to customers. Shop was easy to find. Cool little industrial area in Kapolei. Shop was neat & organized. Nice & clean. Was very professional. Was a good first impression to me. Signage telling you were the office was, easy to find. Office/waiting room was very impressive. Neat & orderly. Couches. TV. Vending machines. Water dispenser. Not a bad place to hang. While you wait for your car. A/C'ed as well. Hahaha.. Dino was cool from the first initial phone call. And even in-person. Setup the work I needed. Treats you like a friend/family. Rather than a customer. Craziest part. Asked him a projected completed date. He said tomorrow. Literally the next day. And crazy thing is. He delivered on that.
