By the time the power was back up on photo day my session had already come to pass so here I am ripping and running trying to pick up the pieces and figure something out. By this time it was approx 5PM I had made several phones calls and couldn't get anyone to take us. I stumbled across this guy on google and he was very professional, understanding, and quick to respond to Justin's and my needs as to how our day went and what we were aiming to do in such short notice and at the drop of a dime. This man met us an hour later at our location, did a 2 hour unplanned session, he was very patient, had all of his things together, organized, professional, funny, very friendly, outgoing,and helpful. He made the photoshoot completely about us and what we wanted to do and had great pointers on helping us achieve the best photos we could have possibly have ever captured. Out of all the things we came into that day the moments that were spent with him definitely touched us and made us so much more appreciative of the little things and the small people that play big parts in something that was so important and close to our hearts. We could not be more grateful to Pastor Mike for everything he did to create a wedding ceremony…read morethat was truly moving, personable, heartfelt, organized, emotional, and unique. We were searching for someone religious yet tolerant who loves what they do and does it for the right reasons. Someone who would tailor the ceremony to be traditional yet our own, and who has personally been in a tried and true relationship. That was Pastor Mike. When we first came across his website, there was just something different about him. We watched the video and he seemed warm, personable, and kind. When I called him to ask a few questions and setup a meeting, he seemed truly excited to meet us. The gentle yet professional demeanor we'd first noticed continued throughout our phone conversation, and we were hopeful it would continue into our in person meeting as well. When we arrived at our first meeting, we had the pleasure of also meeting his wife who was heading out to do some shopping as we chatted. She came along for the ride as it was a bit of a drive from their home to our meeting spot in Chicago. This was fun for us as it served as a bit of an icebreaker - she was also lovely. We sat down and right off the bat noticed how organized he was. He was ready with questions and the information we'd already covered had been filled in so no time was wasted. He recorded the entire meeting so he could re-listen to our conversation as he constructed our ceremony later on. He was meticulous about the details but wasn't afraid to just let us talk. We laughed and joked and by the end of it we couldn't believe how fast time had flown. It was FUN and let me tell you, wedding planning is stressful! It was a good reminder of what it was all about. Pastor Mike also made the trip for our rehearsal to help organize everything to be sure we were ready for the next day. Throughout the process he was prompt in his replies whenever we reached out, his pricing was MORE than reasonable, was organized and sent drafts of the ceremony with updates if changes were made, asked if he was unsure about something, sent reminders and updates, was a calm and reassuring energy leading up to the day and the day of, the list goes on... There is a twinkle in his eye - he's lived life and been around the block a few times, and you can tell he is a happy man. He was unafraid to laugh or make suggestions but was respectful of who we are and what our vision was. With Pastor Mike, we really felt like we could be ourselves. We received many compliments about our service being unique and moving and there were many (happy) tears shed throughout by everyone in attendance. Though we invited him to both the rehearsal dinner and the wedding reception, he gracefully declined thanking us but saying he believed it was a time for us to be with family and friends. Class act. Thank you for all that you did to make our day truly unforgettable, Pastor Mike. We hope you will be in our lives for years to come as we do now consider you a friend.
