I have been going to Chancy's since I was young and I am in my mid 40's now. We only get to go when we visit and today was one of those days. This place has awesome burgers, homemade Suzy Q's are always a hit, and today we decided to give breakfast a try. My son got the bacon omelette. He said it was good, a little thin where as he likes the fluffy style omelette. I had the country fried steak, over medium eggs which were cooked PERFECT, hash browns that were so good, and toast. My son stole my toast but it was normal toast. I would get the breakfast again. The service is always great, refills in drinks, sauces or other needs are always met quickly. The place is old ya all, it's not a fancy place by any means but it's a delicious diner where the food is still an insanely great price. My breakfast was $10. This will always be one of our go to's when we go home to visit. read more

Great food from a delicious breakfast to pizza. Ii had the Jackman cheeseburger and homemade curly fries. Also had breakfast. Wonderful people from owners to the staff. Food is hot and cooked to perfection. Plenty of parking for all kinds of vehicles. My "must stop" place when trucking in the area. Can't say enough good things about the business. read more

This is my second visit. I ordered a side salad and a tenderloin sandwich. Both were good. I liked it with salad that they gave you the dressing as I like to put the amount I want and many times ask for additional dressing. Ice burg lettuce only and came with tomato and cheese. The tenderloin was small to average sized and crispy. Waitress never checked back. I ordered without mayo but it would have been better with ketchup or mustard. It was good. I mostly give out 4 and 5 stars but this didn't really stand out to me. Other reviewers talk about portion size - they must have ordered different than I as I'm still hungry after lunch. I have no idea why the previous review was so critical of this place it's a small town restaurant with delicious food oversized servings and milkshakes to die for. The prices are like stepping back 20 years extremely good prices with large servings what could you ask for. Poor management of time, poor multi-tasking, and improper prioritizing of service. Took 1.5 hours for simple grilled food while only a maximum of 5 eat-in parties (2 large and 3 small) at any given time and only 10 or less to-go orders filled during that time. Quality of food was your usual pre-frozen grill food items, not homemade. if you have any plenty of time, can wait, and enjoy this type of food then this is your place. The staff/owner is not concerned about being efficient or open to feedback. They are completely satisfied with status quo and unwilling to allow for improvement or constructive feedback. Appears to be little to no other options in the area than this place. so not much choice while passing through which creates a high demand with little to no other options as you drive through Kansas to MissourI. The rest of my party was very sad that there were only excuses made for the tardiness of their long-awaited food. The server was congenial, but no one was truly concerned that there service is so inefficient. As a business owner (I speak from experience) you have to be able to take honest criticism without resorting to Ad Hominem arguments (personal attacks/human arguments) in order to deflect away from the truths being shared. Remaining professional is a must. The kind of behavior displayed by the owner does not build credibility, but merely distrust, disgust, and disrespect. We ALL have room to grow, but some are not ready to face that reality. IMHO, if you save a little $ along the way you can improve your financial situation and expand your business and become more efficient. I don't really think Chancy's needs reviews for their core business, but I am going to leave one for the occasional customer that stops in their middle of nowhere diner and does an internet search for good places to eat in the Moran, KS area. I stopped in on May 27. 2022 based on some good Google reviews because I was in the area around lunchtime. I am super critical and I left Chancy's super happy. Five Stars for everything - Six Stars for value. Best Patty Melt I have ever had - macaroni salad, well, I want the recipe - butterscotch malt, just as awesome as other reviews indicated. This was my first visit, was in town for a volleyball tournament. Restaurant was about half full at the time of our visit. Was told this place was THE place to eat.... The good: milkshakes are off the chain good as is the onion straws and waffle fries! Service was about so so. The bad: Burgers are so so, not real bad but not great The ugly: wait times are excessively long, we were in town for a volleyball tournament and figured this would be a quick in and out. It was not, the pork tenderloin was possibly the worst I've ever personally eaten in my opinion. Over cooked and hard to even chew. Tasted like cardboard. Ordered with with everything and got lettuce, pickle, and what appeared to be mayo. I wish i would have gotten the pork tenderloin i read about in their 5 star reviews! Overall I'm confused if I'll ever return to be honest, seems like a hit or miss kinda place by the way the reviews are. I'll edit this review if I do. read more

This is not a place you settle for when you're in a small town. It's a place you drive to the small town just to eat here. This place is great. A small town diner like atmosphere putting out tremendous food. Had a burger and cheese bites. Both were above and beyond most places you can can find in a big city. The toppings for the burger were fresh and flavorful. They do not just throw things together, they use quality ingredients to make your food taste great. The staff is not only polite but also helpful in anything you may need. Enjoy your meal but don't forget to save room for dessert. They have tremendous pies. read more
