This week I snagged some guara, hummingbird bush, and a gorgeous pink trumpet vine that's actually not toxic to pets (as most trumpet vines are). The staff all seem very knowledgeable and are really helpful. There are two older gentlemen that walk around and are always especially kind and helpful. There are some chickens clucking about and if you go in the indoor plant area you can meet parrots Jack and Diane who are happy to have a chat with you. There's also a huge selection of pottery.

I didn't think I'd find one in Arizona, but lo and behold... SummerWinds Nursery had it! The tree was healthy, vibrant, and honestly felt like a little miracle. In Filipino culture, calamansi is considered lucky. People plant it to attract abundance, place coins and grains at the base for prosperity, and use its juice in cleansing rituals. My mom was over the moon when I bought her one. The staff at SummerWinds were super helpful and genuinely kind. You can tell they care about their plants and their customers. The nursery itself is beautiful--peaceful, well-organized, and full of unique finds. Prices were reasonable. You can also get rewards here if you return again. Great value! They also have a poster showing what the flowers on different ones look like. The prices were reasonable and the workers were super friendly! I was greeted right when I walked in and asked if I needed help with anything. Later, another worker offered me a bottle of water since it was a pretty hot day. The workers seem to all be friends with each other as well and they were very knowledgeable. It's not right off the main road but they have a big sign out by the main road so you know where to turn and it's very easy to find. I definitely recommend coming here to get cacti for your yard. Much better than what you'll find at a big box store!

They have a great selection of smaller cacti, and you know they will survive the desert because they aren't all being stored in a greenhouse. The guy who worked there was very friendly and helped me find what I needed. He later helped me put what I bought in a box he provided along with some paper to help keep it from falling all over the car. I appreciate the attention to detail. Only thing they don't have is a basket or something to load up your selections on till you check out, so you have to bring them to the counter one or two at a time. What a hidden gem.

I was able to call…read moreand speak with someone who was kind and polite to help make sure I was able to locate my long blue hibiscus I had been searching for. And it wasn't just your ordinary one they had the unique one whose leaves were different and thrives in the very hot climate of AZ! I was also able to locate some Queen Palms that were a great addition to my backyard that they delivered and planted for me. I simply selected the ones I wanted and scheduled the delivery and planting. The only hiccup with my experience was that the post to secure the trees was an added fee at delivery. My only recommendation would be to disclose that at purchase so there's no confusion with the folks doing the delivery and the planting. The planting was $50 per tree which includes all the soil enhancements for planting. I had 3 trees and each added pole/post per tree was an added $15 per tree and what was collected at that point was $200. Somehow that math didn't quite add up --- maybe the gentleman was overheated at that point? Lesson learned at this point but would have been nice to know up front as I had already paid for the delivery fee and the trees and was made aware of the $50 per tree PLANTING fee to be paid at delivery but those posts were sure pricey!

They took the time to answer questions and tell us about all the upcoming events thy have planned, the bonsai class caught our eye. Which also got us excited to follow along & see what they also offer in the future. Their plant selection was impressive, with so many different varieties to choose from, and I loved that they also carried a wide range of unique planters so you can create the perfect setup all in one stop. The ambiance was GOOD. The space felt inviting, relaxing, and thoughtfully designed, making it easy to spend time browsing and enjoying the experience. I also felt the pricing was very reasonable for the quality and selection available. I can't wait to come back and see how it continues to grow!
