Not my first time at Chandni Chowk, but this time we tried a few different things--Chhole Samosa, Papdi Chaat, Dahi Puri, and of course the live golgappe and chah (pretty sure they call it Matka Chai). The chhole were excellent--perfect color, perfect taste. Samosa was just okay. Papdi chaat was also fine, though I kept wishing they added a bhalla (vada) in there--it would take it to the next level. Dahi puri was okay too, but honestly I only wanted one or two of those... would've been great if the last golgappa at the live station could be a dahi one. The chai was disappointing this time--not the same as before. Ambiance and vibe are always fun here, and service was quick, which I appreciate.
I have been a fan of Aavash since he opened his first truck Momo Cook. It has been an honor watching his journey to now opening a restaurant featuring all his best dishes. The food quality has stayed consistent for over 6 years. He makes the most flavorful chowmein and the orange sauce he makes is the best it goes well with everything. Anytime aim craving momo or chowmein I think about his dishes. It was my first time trying the full menu. I enjoyed the BBQ chicken with rumali roti it was very smooth and savory. I had the dahi vada and lakhpati chaat and enjoy the lakhpati more because it has some crunch and more flavor. The chai was also good my husband ordered it twice and it was served in a cute tradition chai holder stand. I appreciated the amount of detail they paid attention to maintain the vibe of chandni chonk. His chowmein is not oily and has so much flavor just eating alone is a party for your taste buds. The ambience if the restaurant is super cute and authentic. You can see that they put a lot of time and energy into crafting their menu and decorating the restaurant. I am so happy that this great food is now available in Milpitas.

This location in Fremont is a food truck where you can get live pani puri (you get 8 with 1 order and can choose which of the 5 panis you'd like to try). We did have to wait in line for a bit for our order, but the samosa chaat was flavorful and delicious. The pani puris were also unique and fun to eat. This place is great for a quick snack and good vibes, and it's also next to to Deccan Morsels and Apni Mandi.
The atmosphere would make you feel like you're in India. My friends and I had their chhole kulche and golgappe. The service was super quick for chhole kulche but golgappe since it's live counter it's a little slow. The chhole kulche were piping hot which was awesome. It tasted great but wouldn't say it was authentic kulche. Golgappe were not bad. They had 5-6 flavors of paani, but in my opinion apni mandi has better golgappe.
Live pani puri with several options for the pani is their top sellers. You get a buzzer and at once 2-4 folks are served live. Great idea in an excellent location with good ambiance. The surrounding place is lively, gives you good Indian street food vibes. Chole kulche and dahi poori didn't impress as much as pani puri. Several revisits only for the live pani puri.

Found this amazing gol gappa/ pani puri place that satisfies my delhi craving after 8 years of search!! Love their short and sweet menu and fantastic dance songs blaring out of a food truck near apna bazar indian store in fremont. The staff is friendly and the line is always long :) They have live paani puri counter where u can choose from 4-5 different flavors of dipping water - so cool!! I just loved the "khatta meetha". Another highlight for me was the banta soda or kanchhe wali bottal if u all remember from school days back home in india. The masala and the tastte was so refreshing and nostalgic. Mazaaaa!! Slightly more expensive for the price i would want to pay at a food truck but worth it for gol gappa and banta $6. Chk out menu pic below. Dahi sev puri was average - good quality ingredients but very soggy and over loaded.
The place has a great atmosphere with cool lighting and oil barrels repurposed as standing tables, plus a cozy fireplace. We tried the chole-kulcha and chai. The chole was tasty, but the kulchas were a bit underwhelming. However, I really enjoyed the chai!

Chai is awesome. First time, I found a place in bay area that serve chai in kulhaad. Its definitely expensive - but good to try once. Good part is their location. Lot of other food places and grocery store there. Expect a lot of crowd on weekends. Will try other items next time.
Chandni Chowk is a colorful food truck next to a parking lot of a large Indian grocery. this food is typical Delhi street food. the scene at night is lit with colorful lights and Indian music. dining is on steel drums, no chairs, standing room only. offerings: live pani puri. 5 panis: mint, kala khatta, khatta meetha (spicy), pineapple, pomegrate. flavors mostly watery fruit flavors, chaat, chai, chloe kulche. eats: live pani puri (8/8.99) -puris are fried hollow, crispy dough balls that can be filled with liquids and/or food condiments. the puris here have basic pani (liquid flavors). -the puris are filled one by one by vendor, placed in a small food tray, u eat it whole. process repeats with another one. one can have a variety of pani. -i liked the mint and fruity ones. the spicy one is interesting, *not suitable for take away. made individually to be eaten immediately. take outs: -food is fresh tasting. limited menu -while take away is possible. eating it asap is the best option for optimal taste -lots of parking in the parking lot. -gets busy at peak times in the evening. -hours skewed late afternoons on. weekends are all day.

Had heard lot about this place and surely the ambience and atmosphere was pretty good ; but the food was strictly ok. Tried the live panipuri with multiple flavors but honestly did not enjoy the very sweet flavors like mango, pineapple but just only the mint and Khatta meetha. Also had ordered veg Manchurian and triple chicken schzewan to-go but were both not worth the price; and being from Mumbai the expectation with triple schzewan is much higher. Maybe next time will try the papdi chaat , chole bhatura as looked good. read more

Where to begin. This spot just hits different. It's nostalgic on wheels. Its one of the few places in the bay that serve live pani puri. And they have multiple flavors. The service is comparatively fast, based on the amount of people that crowd up this spot. Also, there is always Indian music playing which makes you wanna dance :D Apart from the pani puri, which is very good, I have also tried some of the other chaats here which are very tasty as well. The food along with the ambiance here makes me wanna drive 45 mins to reach here :) read more
I thought I wrote a review for it already, but I think i wasjust taking pictures and posting it, but anyway, as far as the food goes this fantastic, awesome medley, a flavor and the profile of the stuff it's just amazing they have on the spot and the Samosa shot is just to die for I think I've tried half of the menu by now and I'm looking forward to try the other half I think and my girlfriends ate there for a week straight. Came here late evening for dinner. It's food truck trying to give you India feels for having pani puri outside. The Togo service was quick but the wait for pani puri stall was crazy long. Very loud music playing in background can get annoying real quick and is uncalled for. I got the chole bature and samosa chole for to go. Both were decent tasting and can recommend. Samosas filling was bit hot. Pani puri is bit hyped and flavors are okay. Overall pricy place and you get 10 puris for pani puri. Not sure if I'll visit again but for one time it's okay. read more

Had a great time enjoying food truck style desi food with my family! The bollywood music and dhaba style "tables" makes it feel like you're in india! The food, though on the pricier side, was really good! We got some dahi puri, chole kulcha, and thumbs up from the first truck and got hakka noodles, momos, and schezwan potatoes from the second. The highlights for me were definitely the schezwan potatoes and hakka noodles, so good! Also ended the night with paan from Apna Bazaar, definitely recommend for a fun evening out with friends and/or family! read more

i love pani puri!! there's not much here in washington so this was a real treat. it's live so you eat them immediately as they hand you one after the other. it's fun to do this with someone else or a group. my favorite was definitely the khatta metha which has tamarind in it! it's refreshing and savory at the same time. read more

I think one of the best things about the Bay Area is the multitude of authentic or near-authentic foods and experiences of different cultures. My boyfriend and I randomly stumbled upon this gem of a place in while visiting Apni Mandi, a huge 24-hour Indian grocery store. We noticed the lively and warm energy and checked it out. We ordered matka chai and a set of pani puri (8 in each set). The chai was so comforting - creamy, sweet, and spiced. The pani puri experience was fun and delicious. The outer shell is crispy, filled with potato, and then dipped into pani puri water. There were 5 pani puri waters. The pineapple one was unique and delicious. The staff were nice The area was clean. My favorite was the firepits. I didn't see any restrooms but it seems to be more of a quick hangout spot. I highly recommend :) read more

Always come here for the panipuri. My friend introduced me and I love trying new foods. We make this a regular thing to come at least once a month. It's a food truck and located in a parking lot. I love the variety of flavors (pineapple, passion fruit, Khatta Meetha, Kala Khatta Pani. I always order with their chai tea that's provided in a clay cup. Definitely worth a try. read more
Amazing experience that took me way back in time. Loved the vibe, the setup the entire atmosphere and the very specially decorated/painted truck just made everything perfect. We ordered quite a few rounds of Live Pani Puri and topped that up with cutting chai. All but for the Pomegranate water for the Pani Puri were a hit and tasted pretty authentic (as much as it could get :) ). Wait times can be a bit crazy on weekends though weekdays would not turn out to be that bad if you have made it early in the evening to the truck. Would love to go back and try the other options they got on the truck for sure. read more

One of the best Indian food trucks in Fremont. They serve tasty chai in clay cups (disposable) making it feel super authentic. My favorite item from their menu is chole with is serviced with chapati/roti but I like to get an extra one. If you're a fan of spicy food then you'll love the food. The food truck is located across from Fremont Apni Mandi. The parking might be a challenge but not impossible. On the weekends this location gets super busy making it a fun place to visit. Would definitely recommend. read more

Took me back to india. Such a cool experience eating pani puri served individually that you're transported to Panjab. I really enjoyed tons of flavors of pani puri water. Samosa chat was great! I do think the chai could be a little sweeter/tastier - but it's hard to make chai to fit everyone's taste/ preferences so that's expected. Service was fast, and the seating takes you back to dhabas in panjab. I love the fun atmosphere in the evening, it's such a vibe with fun music! read more

Go for the ambiance.. it transports you back to your Indian street food experience. We had a plate of pani puri with a variety of flavors !! Kala ghatta, ghatta meetta and pine apple were team favorites. The dahi puri was colorful and full of dahi.. a bit overwhelming. All in all I'd come back. But please be more mindful of the establishment and don't steal their tea cups! read more

Came to Chandni Chowk on a Saturday evening following some recommendation on Instagram. I'm glad I did not drive all the way just for this, met up with a friend so that made up for the drive. The food is pricey and I did not find it as unique as described in many Instagram blogs. The matka chai was the worst purchase, the flavor of the chai was alright but you could feel the matka taste, and maybe my specific matka was not baked all the way so I could feel the clay. The pani puri was more or less same as anywhere else but they are pricier though they give 8 it's better to split between two. The dahi papdi chat was the best of the three items we had and was a little bit on the sweeter side. Service was great we were with a toddler and the gentleman at the pani puri counter entertained her with some dry puris, kudos on that. Ambiance was indeed great, am sure it gets better as the sun goes down. Music was punchy and ample space to stand around. Parking is a bit tough as you have to park across the street in the lot shared with Apna Bazaar and that's always busy. read more
