Took my sons new to him truck here to have exhaust fixed/change. Chaney informed me that they don't delete Cat converters (I didn't ask for that) I wanted dual exhaust put on. He informed me to put stock exhaust on it would be 3k. I sent my back to get his keys to his truck. Chaney informed my 17yr old he would not have even bought the truck. Why? Why would he say something like that to a kid? He don't know how hard my son worked to buy that truck, what he went they to get the truck or the stress and worry it has already caused him. My son didn't asked for his advice or his opinion. It was unneeded and done more damage to a crap situatio. Chaney was to be hired to do a job and he couldn't/wouldn't do it. Fine that's on him. But he should not have said shit to him. my son was obviously angry and said he told him to go to hell and dude proceeded to cuss him out. Mr. Chaney needs some professional courtesy. I went to Chaney's because my air conditioner wasn't getting cool. I was quoted at $1050 dollars for an air compressor and refrigerant. I was advised to drop my vehicle off the following week because they were busy at the moment. I went to a shop a mile away and found out a wiring harness was frayed and it would take 1 hours labor. I was almost charged 10x more. If a company will admit to charging the most in the area at $125 per hour, at least be able to properly diagnose a simple component such as a wiring harness read more

If you are looking for a reputable, good to thier word buisness....keep looking. About 3 months ago Chaney Towing was called out on a tow on 34th in Alexander, ND to pull a truck from a ditch. After attempting this endeavor and closing traffic 2 hours, they approached Elk River Pipeliners who was waiting for accident to be cleared. Chaney asked our driver if they could use the loader we were hauling to assist in the removal of said truck. Our driver was gracious and allowed the use of the loader to use as an anchor. Upon removal of truck, the very appreciative owner of Chaney thanked our driver and shook his hand. We were told that anytime we needed a favor...they would comply. Long story short, we called in that favor this morning. Apparently, a man's word and handshake are not honored at this establishment and needless to say, the owner wanted to charge us for this favor. Doing buisness with a company and owner who have no regard for courtesy and respect is your choice. Be prepared to bend over while the owner offers false promises. Shady to say the least and I do not expect this or any company to succeed in such a manner. Highly disappointed in this buisness. My advise. ..call someone else. read more

Asked Chaney's to find an oil leak. 3 weeks later when they did not call, I called and found out they did $1500 in unauthorized repairs. When I told him that I did not authorize any repairs, that I just wanted to find out where the leak was and how much it would cost, he became very nasty to me on the phone and said if I didn't want to pay it I could bring him the title. I paid for the car and picked it up but found they did not repair what they said they repaired. I returned the car to Chaney and after another two weeks he refused to fix it claiming he did not have time and if I did not like it I could just take the car. I had to take it to any other repair shop and it cost me $1600 to do the repairs Chaney's claimed they did. BEWARE! This man can not be trusted. He was nasty to me and when I asked him to make the repairs he told me he had made, he became ballistic on me. Needless to say, this is not over! read more

This business has served Williston ND since 1984. That's a long time. As a longtime customer these people have bent over backwards at times to ensure good service for me, my family, and many other longtime residents. They are fair and do their best to accommodate a booming busy place with patience when it seems that the citizens of this town have none to give back. I hate that one person can write a long winded negative review because of their experience. People like that wouldnt take the time to write a positive one I bet from good service if they recieved it. We're all entitled to our opinion, But just like any business or person if you give respect you get respect. End rant. I have sent many new people to them and will continue to do so.
