I was out with the doggo and decided to grab something for dinner. I had decided I'd try this restaurant as I'd never been here before. And seeing as it's just recently re-opened after COVID I thought I'd give it a try. They are currently hiring and there were two people who were there to wait on customers. A girl about 18-20 and a kid who looked no older than 13. The girls were great, polite, and obviously trying to help make this a great place to go. They showed me they cared. Five stars to them. I ordered 3 different dishes: sesame beef, hunan chicken and another spicy chicken dish, I forget which one. All together it was about $45. I orders for take out. It took about 45 minutes as, per the girls, they were slammed. They had a few people in the restaurant and 4 phone ordered. They told me there were only two people cooking. I felt that. No prob, went to walk the doggo and came back. When I got it home the chicken tasted a bit rubbery and I was a little disappointed as it just didn't taste that good. It's obvious they cut the chicken in house. I hope that as they get more experienced cooks in there the chicken will taste better. I guessing they cook a lot of chicken at once then use what they need for each dish as needed. The beef was pretty good- but then it's hard to mess up deep fried meat. I will try this place again once they're fully staffed and see what it's like then. I really do hope they get the traffic they need to hire the people they need to make it a rocking place. read more

I was surprised that this restaurant is rated so high. I relied on this high rating and went there a few weeks ago. I was not deeply disappointed but I would say I will not go there any more. The food was just ok, very typical American Chinese food. If you are a Chinese Chinese reading this,I would not suggest you go. The ones on Main Street are way better. I ordered Mu xu pork, which is the food closes to authentic Chinese food flavor wise. The tortilla was cold and thick. We had three people and ordered three MAIN dishes on a dinner menu, but they only gave us ONE MINI bowl of rice. If we want extra rice, it will be one dollar for a bowl. Their excuses are: the soup dose not come with rice because it is a soup, the Mu xu pork does not come with rice because it comes with tortilla, and the only dish that comes with rice is the other dish we ordered, I cannot remember what that was. Those were ridiculous excuses! The soup was a main dish that comes in a big soup bowl, it was not an appetizer. Ask Chinese people if they just drink soup without rice? Even Americans will tell you that their soup comes with biscuits! I have been to lots of Chinese restaurants in different states around the US. They all offer big bowls of rice and they can be refilled indefinitely for free. This is the first restaurant I know that charges for extra bowls of rices. I would probably give this place negative stars if I could. Idk why their Yelp page says they close at 9:30, they actually close a little before 8:30pm and stop taking orders sometime around 8pm. My girlfriend and I tried to go there the last two nights but they kept changing the hours each time we called. They really aren't worth the hassle imo. Chang Sing *used* to be one of the most disgusting restaurants in town. I have a friend who worked in the kitchen as a dishwasher for one day before leaving because it was so filthy. The few times I went there were always piles of papers and dishes in one booth or other where the manager was sitting. But the place is under new management and it's completely turned around. The food is stellar, reasonably priced, with generous portions and friendly staff. Highly recommended. Great take-out. I'd like to try the buffet sometimes, if they still have it. read more

I love this place. We got some serious chinese food cravings one night, and I called Chang Sing's at about 9:45pm asking if they were still open. I was pretty positive they'd be closed. Instead, the nice lady told me they'd stay open for us if we'd come on by. We raced on down and ordered two combo dinners. I noticed that their menu said they closed at 9:30 that night. Yet they stayed there til past 10pm just to make us some delicious food!! Best people ever, I tell you. Anyway, the food is delicious. We love the General Tso chicken especially. The sweet and sour pork is great, the pork fried rice is wonderful, the egg rolls are tasty, the sesame chicken is amazing, the hot and sour soup is great....actually, everything I've ever tried here is delicious. Under new management and it. is. awesome. It is better than any other Chinese restaurant in Moscow-Pullman. I know that will offend Emerald and New Garden loyalists, but it is true. Their food is flavorful, rich, and filling, and they serve a great variety. They start you off with free crispy wonton strips with sweet and sour sauce and hot mustard. Their tea is slightly sweeter than usual, and pairs beautifully with the full-flavored, delectable hot and sour soup. If you like hot and sour soup even a little, try theirs! When it comes to appetizers, their BBQ pork is delicious (it's also available as a side on Individual Dinner combos instead of eggroll). It's sweet and tender and wonderful. I've had the General's Chicken, Orange Chicken, Sweet and Sour Pork, and Sweet and Sour Chicken. I didn't really care for the Sweet and Sour Pork; it was a little too tough for me. But the Sweet and Sour Chicken had a perfect texture, and the batter was deliciously light and fluffy. The General's Chicken is authentically made with a crunchy batter, using mostly dark-meat chicken, with white onions, bell peppers, and green onions. The sauce is quintessential General Tso's--spicy, robust, and tangy. The Orange Chicken is of a similar texture, and the orange sauce is also flavorful and thick, with strips of orange zest in it. Delicious! I've also heard great things about the Mongolian Beef. They also give you free orange slices along with your fortune cookies; two wedges per person. The waitstaff is very friendly and the prices are average for Chinese food around here. But you'll get so much more satisfaction for your dining dollar here. Give it a try; you won't regret it. It gets a 4 for the specific meal I would order: stir fried veggies and rice without MSG. When I would be too busy studying to make real dinner I could order that and get 2-3 meals out of it. It's not authentic Chinese food by any stretch of the imagination. Chang Sing has decent chinese food for an OK price. I've had better (for cheaper) and worse (that was more expensive). When I go for "chinese" I want American Chinese and this place delivers that, though it's missing that punch (or maybe an extra dollop of oil or sauce) that I'm looking for. For comparison, it has more flavor than Li's Garden, but is more expensive. I also went to the China Buffet and actually thought it was OK and cheapest (considering it's a buffet). To be fair, I've only tried the lunch specials at both Li's and Chang Sing. I think both are OK, but won't satisfy your craving for greasy Chinese food. read more

Ordered food to go. Three entrees. Ordered at 6:45 pm. The phone guy says it will be 15 -20 minutes. No problem! My son arrives at 7:00, told it will be a few minutes. At 8:30, they bring the food out. Total came to $41.80, (according to their menu prices) they ring it up and my son pays with a credit card, they charge it $51.80. I really eat too often at this place. Their food is outstandingly delicious, dining in is a breeze, and you can even call in for take-out! Their service is fast and friendly, and pretty reasonably priced. Their hours are great...perfect for those Chinese food cravings on a late Friday or Saturday night (they're open till 11:30PM on those nights); they are even open on Sundays! The worst customer service we have ever experienced from any restaurant was at Chang Sing. First, their online menu pricing is wrong (the real amount is almost twice as much as listed online). But we were regular customers. However, tonight, an employee got our order wrong on a take-out and over-charged us. When we asked them to fix it, the owner wouldn't fix it! Then proceeded to ban us because we wanted a refund for the stuff we were over charged on!! I can't believe with the way they treat customers that they are still in business. There are no praises to sing about Chang Sing unless you're a college student with little money and even less taste in what constitutes, "food." I've been around the world a few times and I'm still willing to try places as visually unappealing as Chang Sing in the hopes of discovering a gem. But sometimes, a sparsely appointed dining room apparently thrown together with a tight budget in a one-stop used restaurant supply store tells the tale pretty accurately. I ate here recently (8/15/13) with two willing accomplices. Our bravery was first rewarded with gray, steamed potstickers that were the color of an ashen corpse. The wontons they were made of were unusually thick and seemed either poorly made or horribly freezer burned. Although the filling was passable, the overall grade was a solid D. Next up, our main courses including, Lo Mein, S&S chicken, Mongolian Beef, General Tso chicken, and S&S pork. These were chosen for not only their common appearance on many Chinese menus, but also because these are usually the most abused dishes in a Chinese restaurant. Probably because real chefs disdain these staples of American appeal. The S&S chicken appeared as long, thin, breaded & deep-fried meat tubes not resembling any chicken part I'd ever seen covered in the usual red dyed corn starch glop. Not much else in the way of vegetable matter accompanied these chicken tubes. The white rice served with the meal also had the same gray color to it as the pot stickers. I don't know if this is a theme they are trying for but I prefer my food not look like a landfill corpse. The Lo Mein was unremarkable in a tasteless brown sauce of little or no merit. The General Tso chicken was made with a darker version of the S&S glop and equally as tasteless. Although the chicken appeared to have come from an actual chicken, it tasted bland and over cooked. The S&S Pork also had no redeeming qualities. The closest thing to acceptable was the Mongolian Beef. Although the beef was relatively tender, the sauce was brown and bland when usually, this dish can be quite remarkable when done properly. To be fair, we requested several of our dishes be made without MSG. But no amount of chemical assistance could have brought any of these failures to life. They were all DOA. All together, Chang Sing can be passed by for anything else. Even Applebee's. Anyone who rates this place higher than one star is either very hungry or very inexperienced when it comes to rating "food." read more

Got food here for the first time after seeing all the high ratings and I have to say it was good. I tried the almond chicken, general tso's chicken and the beef with pea pods, all with pork fried rice. The almond chicken was good but very dry unless you really covered it with the sauce. The general tso's chicken tasted like it does just about anywhere you get it. The beef was good but the pea pods were a bit over cooked. The rice was excellent. First off, the customer service here rocks. I called right at 9pm one night and asked if they were closed. I was informed that they were closed, but he would still cook for me, if I wanted a to-go order. I ordered the combo plate with their fried rice, chow mein and sweet and sour chicken - yum! Ten minutes later, I had dinner waiting for me and some friendly, awesome service. Their crab rangoons are freaking delicious too, by the way. I'm so stoked to have some good Chinese food in Moscow, it's been a long time!
