I haven't tried this place for twenty years. My parents always took me to a different Chinese restaurant, so I went there too. No more. It is, by far, the best Asian food in Moscow. I visit mostly at lunch, which I find fantastic. I'm just not into the shared thing practiced at most Chinese restaurants for dinner. Modestly priced and a good quantity of food. The quality is good to great. They have a spiciness scale and 3 is much as I will go and I love hot. The food is ok at best. But the real problem is the staff, they are kinda but it seems that the female that works there everyday cause problems. Every time I come in I see her making the employees very uncomfortable and spends most of the time criticizing them. The restaurant is always dirty, no one puts time into making anything look nice. when I get my seat the tables filthy and the place mat and silverware is usually gross. Love eating here. I'm usually never disappointed when deciding to eat Chang sing. This time i went in on Saturday and I got the one of the lunch specials. Mongolian beef. Hot and sour soup. Egg roll. It took me forever to find a good Chinese place when I moved to this area, and I overlooked Chang Sing way too many times before I actually tried their food. I was really hopeful for this place, but I was pretty disappointed in my meal. I got a dinner combo and the price was great. I really enjoyed the egg drop soup and the fried rice, but the lo mein had mushy noodles and the sweet and sour chicken was tough and chewy. I probably won't go here again, except maybe for some soup if I'm sick. read more

I've been going to this place since I was about 5-years-old. I've been to every chinese place on the Palouse - multiple times - and Chang Sing is the best food you're going to find in Moscow. This is no joke. The people are friendly, the service is fast, and they have a great selection. The dining room has really been cleaned up. For a while it was kind of dirty and cluttered, but the food was always great so we ignored the fact that three tables were always full of crap the owners had stacked up in there. Mmmm, I moved away from Moscow over a year ago, but I still dream of Chang Sing's delicious food. I did not like Chinese food for almost 10 years before Bac T. brought me to my senses. On top of how tasty it is, you really can't beat the customer service. How many restaurants in Moscow (or anywhere else for that matter) throw a 4th of July party and feed all of their customers for free? I'll be back every time I visit. read more

Yes Chang Sing is better than it used to be, but that's not saying much. I've gone there twice since the new ownership took over and yes, yes, yes it is better than it used to be. This does not mean it's very good. Nothing I've had there has been anything better than any of the other Chinese joints in town. I don't get what people are all jacked up about. I say it's on par with every other Chinese place in Moscow. However, not as good as The Emerald or New Garden in Pullman. read more

I was referred to this place from a friend who says this is their favorite Chinese restaurant in town. I was in a hurry so had to get my food to go. The menu is standard American-Chinese food around these parts with nothing unique. Prices seemed reasonable. I tried the combination plate with general Tso chicken and sweet and sour chicken. The general chicken had good flavor and remained crunchy in all the sauce however the chicken chunks were huge making it fairly hard to eat without a knife. The sweet and sour chicken had a good sauce but I felt the breading on the chicken was too much making it seem more like a hushpuppy - all breading and no chicken. The fried rice was good but nothing special to make it stand out. I tried the BBQ pork in place of the eggroll. Two small pieces of pork tenderloin was super moist though didn't have much of a BBQ flavor I expect. I also got the hot and sour soup which also had a nice flavor to it. Overall, the food was good and deserves a return visit for more! read more

I looove this place, I am a regular customer for take out. The service is very friendly. I am addicted to the food. I always get the same thing, combo d it comes with general tso's which is very good, I substitute almond fried chicken for sweet and sour it's so good i get the gravy on the side for take out so it stays really crispy if I don't eat it all right away. The only reason I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is that I'm Chinese, and I've been to lots of 5-star Chinese restaurants around the US and beyond. But I was very impressed with this restaurant. Fresh vegetables that were stir-fried slightly crisp, food that tasted like it was supposed to, tender meat, not greasy, not overly salted. I've had some bad Chinese food here in Moscow, so I was prepared for mediocre, at best. Not so. I highly recommend this restaurant, and I definitely will be back, maybe tomorrow! read more

I live part-time in asia and just recently returned. A couple of friends of mine highly suggested Chang Sing as a great restaurant since new ownership has cleaned up the place and have a new menu...without msg. The owner, Billy, and his wife are most gracious and cordial. the servers are friendly, helpful and attentive. The food is fresh, outstanding & prepared when ordered! Truly the best chinese food that I have experienced in the Moscow area. It is was surely a pleasant dining experience shared with my friends. For sure I shall be dining there frequently. The place doesn't look like the most appealing restaurant in town, but they actually have good food. I went in after a friend referred me, sampled their "suggested" dinner combo with 3 chili peppers and it wasn't too bad. My stomach wasn't happy the next day, but my taste buds didn't mind :-D. I recently went in and ordered their orange chicken. IT WAS DELICIOUS! Huge chunks of white meat chicken and thick and spicy orange sauce. I wasn't expecting the orange zest peels in the sauce, so when I took a bite, I was very surprised. The fried rice could be better but it's not too bad. Overall, they seem to have improved in food quality. I'll probably go there for lunch tomorrow. read more
