Many years ago, I spent a lot of time working in Syracuse, and back then an awesome co-worker let me in on a secret that the best wings in town are at Change of Pace neighborhood tavern. I've seen they've since won "best wings" awards, so the secret is out! This place is informal & down to earth, usually lively, and has plenty of TV's for sports - GO 'Cuse! There's a good selection of drafts and a solid food menu, including app's, hot sandwiches, pizza, burgers/wraps, & even salads! They have a family friendly back dining room that is great for groups, & watching more sports (see pic). Tip: Unless u see a waitress in front bar area (you may on busiest nights), you order from the bartender.

The bartender was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. I came specifically for the wings as I had heard they were some of the best in town. There were awards posted on the walls showing they had the best wings. Typical bar ambiance, there is an awkward step to get inside which might prove difficult for those with mobility or accessibility issues. The wings however were delicious! They really were some of the best I have ever had. Perfectly crispy, juicy, and well sauced.

Heard these were the best wings in Cuse, so I had to try them out for myself. Expectations were high and they were fulfilled! They have a bunch of different flavors to choose from. You can get 2 flavors per dozen. I went with salt and pepper and honey hot. Honey hot was my favorite as it was sweet with a kick as the name implies. The salt and pepper were a dry rub, still delicious as well. I like mine extra crispy and they obliged.

The other night my partner and I decided to get wings here at Change of Pace. We arrived at 6PM. Upon arrival we stood at the bar waiting to be helped. We were not greeted. As we waited, I got the attention of the bartender and told her we would like to place an order. The bartender continued to tell me she would help me as soon as she could. We continued to wait patiently and she took my order at 6:18PM. She proceeds to tell me my order should be out in about 30 minutes, I said okay thank you we will wait. I was told my order would be brought to me when it was ready. All the staff continued to walk around helping other people and bringing them their orders but I never got mine. I looked down at my phone to check the time and seen that we had been waiting for over an hour. So, I went up and asked about the status of my order. The bartender tells me she will go grab it. When she brings it out, I check it and realize that my wings were cold, and my fries were soggy. Unacceptable. I asked her if something could be done about it and her response was that she was busy and that it was my fault that my order sat in the back. She said it was my responsibility to pick up my order, mind you she said it would be brought to me when she took my order. I asked if she could get them to remake the food and she gave me an attitude, so I asked for a refund. At this point I did not care about the food. She told me if I wanted a refund that I would have to call the owner. Yeah, absolutely not. I gave them the food back and asked for a refund. I did get my refund but that wasn't my issue. The problem I had with this interaction was the fact that this bartender had poor customer service skills. This could have all been prevented because it was clearly a misunderstanding. After asking for my refund, me and my partner were told not to come back. Got it. I now understand how they treat people at this establishment. I realized that they treat the regulars with respect and serve them first before they help anyone else. I am highly upset with how this was handled when it could have been an easy fix. Instead, I was told not to come back because I refused to wait an additional hour for them to remake my food. I simply wanted a refund instead because I had already waited for over an hour to get my order in the first place. An hour and fifteen minutes to be exact. Overall my experience was a bad one but I hope nobody else has to deal with something like this in the future.

Great staff, great food, and great atmosphere! The staff were extremely kind and engaging throughout our visit. Amazing wings and an impressive pizza. Apparently their dough is made on-site for all pizzas. Crunchy outside with a fluffy center, really a special and unique treat. Compared to other places you can taste the difference. We enjoyed the various selections of beer choices whilst watching many members of the neighborhood come in for their pickup orders for the Bills game, confirming how good this place really is.

In this time of social distancing I ordered chicken wings for pick up from here. The service was quick and friendly. The wings were AMAZING!!! I like my wings extra crispy and extra saucey and these were on point. I ordered three different kids of wings, (I like a variety) garlic, mild and barbecue. The garlic wings had a lot of garlic on them and not that much butter, which was great. They are fairly priced too, you get a dozen for $11.00.

Tons of tender corned beef, and just a hint of sauerkraut and Swiss served with thousands island dressing! I ordered an extra for take out for my Irish man at home and short rib tacos. Those did not keep well for take out, more meat and toppings would improve the continuity compared to tortillas. Service excellent, frequently checked upon for refills and food order. Prompt delivery and friendly service! Great place for meetups with a pub sports bar atmosphere. I'm not sure I noticed remanence of the prior press room. Many televisions great for sport events. Menu is simple and pub oriented.

We were greeted warmly by the bartender who was taken care of a few patrons at the bar. We grabbed menus and sat down at a separate area where the dart boards are. They had an up charge for fries over potato chips but I was in the mood for fries and it was reasonable $1.99. The sandwich was huge and I especially liked that the bun was toasted and crisp. The meat was not over cooked and the cheese was melted with the peppers and onions underneath. The fries looked pale but they were cooked and lightly salted. The cook brought the food out to us which was a nice touch. They checked on our table several times to make sure we were ok. My lunch mates had hamburgers which they really liked. Altogether a pleasant experience. This is not a fancy place but they have good reasonable food (my lunch was 15.15 total with tax and up charge for using a credit card).
