This place continues to be one of my all time favorites for really great burgers. I sometimes just crave simple basic food, no frills.( Although they do have many options for add ones and "fancier" burgers). This bar still has the best value for food, in my opinion. The basic burger is 8 oz and priced to include lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle and chips. Sides like fries, onion rings, macaroni salad or regular salad can be purchased to add on. I got the basic burger, medium rare and added a small size Caesar salad. My total was $12.... UNBELIEVABLE value. It was cooked perfectly medium rare. My friend had a burger with several toppings and the onion rings looked amazing. My Caesar dressing tasted homemade. You order at a window and pay, then they call your name or buzz you when it's ready. We sat outside on this warm beautiful day in the shade with a nice breeze. Blarney Stone is an unmatched Syracuse staple. I typically come here for the crowd and for pool while a game is on, but when I do get food it is great. The tenders and fries are basic as well as the mozzarella sticks, but by no means does it mean they're bad!! There are four patio areas. Showed up with dog, another group already there had a dog too. There for a few hours, brought four water bottles but needed more so went into bar to get water for dog. Bartender tells me that dogs not allowed and signs are "everywhere". No there isn't. Management comes out 30 mins later and tells me no dogs and that there is a sign "at the entrance". No there isn't. There is one tiny sign near a side door and it says no dogs allowed. Inside? Outside? How about spending $20 at Walmart and get four signs. Post them at the entrances to the patio areas so it is clear dogs aren't welcome. Love this place but use some common sense. read more

I stopped in with my family to get burgers and drinks. The bartender (Kayla) is incredibly rude. I asked for a glass of water and she snapped that they "have to charge for water." Another customer at the bar was given free water without any issue. We were polite, paying customers who came in for dinner and were treated with attitude for no reason. Dam, that was one of the best burgers I've ever had! For a first timer, it was a little confusing, but we found a regular who walked us through it. You order and pay at the kitchen window, then grab a table. When the food ready, they call your name to pick it up. There are two bars for easy access to the many draft beers. I got the Tuesday special, a burger and domestic beer for $8.50. I upgraded to a Blue Moon for $1.50. The burger is made to your liking with toppings of your choice. Such good portions of corned beef and sauerkraut with melted Swiss on marble rye! Never thought I'd like something as much as the blarney burger but this definitely rivaled it. I have forgotten more than once. That said, I really like this place. Some feel it's the best hamburger in Syracuse. I might not go that far, but it's a real hamburger, not like some fast food junk and it's no more expensive than comparable fast food. The price is up from $4.75 in 2018 to $7. But it's still a solid value. I also got a dozen chicken wings for $12 (no longer $10) still cheaper than other local wing restaurants which can charge $1.50-2 per wing. They had a special on chicken legs which I didn't see because I ordered online. The wings were properly cooked. They seemed noticeably larger and meatier than the wings most restaurants serve these days. That said, I seldom buy wings any more. They have gotten too expensive. At home I mostly buy chicken thighs. There is an additional 75 cent charge if the package items in a clam shell to go. The kitchen was very busy with 4 or more guys cooking. My order came out promptly but there is often a line to order. This is a sports bar with multiple TVs and a wide variety of beers. (I don't drink alcohol). The atmosphere is very sports bar. Tons of guys yelling at the tvs. There is outdoor terrace dining if the inside is too raucous for you. This is just the kind of restaurant that the fast food chains are putting out of business, but it's far better than the chains. Check it out and see! read more

Blarney is a Tipp Hill classic. Stopped in at about 3:30 on a Tuesday. Not very busy and the crowd seemed to be comprised of mostly retirees. Quite different from what you'll see once the sun goes down. First, Blarney is cash only. They do have an ATM on site but fees aren't any fun. That being said, the place is incredibly inexpensive. 2.75 for a single Gin and Tonic. Burger and fries for less than 9 bucks. Good stuff. I've never had a bad meal at Blarney- my personal favorite its their blonde Reuben. Most people will go with the most popular menu item- the ubiquitous Blarney Burger. It's a good, homestyle burger. There's a couple reasons it's the most popular item and the taste is one of them. The fries are also my favorite in the 315 so make sure you order some of those. Only complaint is the place can get packed and the wait for food becomes exponentially longer. I'll be continuing my patronage. read more

Blarney Stone is by far my favorite and go-to bar across Syracuse. I don't go out a lot anymore, but without a doubt, I've spent more money here than any other bar by an order of magnitudes. I turned 21 right here at the bar, way back when, and never looked back! They do all their food from a cash-only window in the back. Their prices are ridiculously low, and you're getting good quality food. Never come here without at least $10 for a blarney burger and a drink. This restaurant is how I kept in touch with many of my friends. If "Let's hang out" doesn't feel right, start with "Let's get a Blarney Burger". If they say no to that, you probably dodged a bullet anyway. Sometimes it takes a great deal of luck or patience, but if the weather is nice, you wanna make sure you get a seat on the patio. I still have friendships that are held together with standing Blarney Burger dates a few times a year. Their other food is also crazy cheap and surprisingly great quality. Last time we went we tried the Tipperary Dip sandwich, which was incredible and only like $8.00. Their wings are some of the highest rated in Syracuse. I don't know if they still do it, but they always used to have specials on wings during SU games if you ate in, but the hardest part was getting a table before the place got packed. Beer recommendations: Nine Decent burger. Kind of still the same good hang, but not really. Pick it over Tully's or any of the chains 100% of the time. Food is still generally good, but nothing really stands out. Feel like this place is overrated as a foodie destination. Have had overcooked burgers in the past, but nothing that came out like a brick. It's a lot of good options, but I'd avoid the salads, overdressed. Service has usually been great, but occasionally has seemed overwhelmed. It's a popular spot during events like the Shamrock Run, and I've taken to avoiding it during "peak" hours (and popular SU basketball games). Incredibly loud during these times. I wouldn't not recommend it. But unless it's an odd night, not going to push to come here. read more

When we got up to the window to retrieve our food, I noticed flies just sitting on top of our burgers..there were flies flying around in the kitchen, many of them! From a distance the kitchen looked dirty...It's obviously dirty because of all the flies. It just turned February and there are no flies outside because it's winter here in CNY and very cold! They only had one Irish beer (Guinness), which was a surprise. The place was jam packed, although the four of us did find a table. I've been here many times but this is my first time rating it. They are known for their burgers and chicken wings and I've had both in the past and they are very good! Last Friday I went in for fish fry at about 7:00 pm and they were out of fish( Friday during lent this is understandable). My only other fish choices were New England clam chowder and crab cake and I got both. The soup was very good but the crab cake was very fishy and I would not recommend it. They had a couple of decent craft beers on draft. The place is so noisy on a Friday night it is hard to talk and no tables were available so we took a seat at the bar. If your looking for pub food at a decent price this is the place to go. I will try again on a Friday to get the fish fry.
