a basket of chicken wings and celery
Marissa R.

nice spot to watch games and grab some wings. we got the garlic parmesan and medium wings which were both good. the environment is typical for a dive bar with a mixed crowd. the bartender was friendly and attentive. i wish the wings were a little bit more crispy but they were decent. i would definitely come back!

The Beginning II is one of the first spots I go to whenever I visit Syracuse. Mike the owner knows his wings! My usual go to is Medium and they are the perfect amount of hot. The bar is super fun with games and an outdoor area. There's a great selection of beer as well. Never a bad time at this place! I can confidently say these are the best chicken wings I have ever had in my life. Hands down.

$15 for these "chicken fingers." A double order of 9? Guess you don't have to be a math major to run a bar.

Crooks. Ordered two orders of "chicken fingers" at a total cost of about $15. What I got was 9 tiny nuggets. I went back looking for the other order and upon showing the bar tender, he admitted it looked like one order. He came back claiming the cook said it was a double order. I asked "would you pay $15 for that?" He said no, and that was that. I'll post a photo if I can. Either way, avoid this place like the plague. Awful, awful, awful.

Best wings in Syracuse! The beer is cold and it's a fantastic hidden gem. Come get some.

You can tell that Mike, the owner, has been there done that, and has probably forgotten more about the bar business than most know.

Fancy this place is not but I have found some of the best food I have had has come from a dive…read morerestaurant/bar. This place is perfect for the Sport's enthusiast as there are TV's on every wall pretty much, for fans to catch their favorite teams playing. There is also, a separate room off the bar area for large gatherings. Our waiter was warm and friendly. He took our order promptly.... we waited and waited for our food to come out. Mind you we ordered two sandwiches and a bowl of soup. The soup came out and again we waited. Unfortunately, all we got to try was the soup as we had an event we had to get to as our sandwiches when asked were not prepared. Sometimes things happen when you run a business and it is how you handle them that is the difference between just a restaurant and a great restaurant. This restaurant would earn five stars on just how things were handled. Kudos go to the staff there.... The French Onion soup we had for me was not my cup of tea as it was over seasoned and had way too many croutons which between the seasoning and bread overpowered the soup. My partner in crime thought it tasted OK and proceeded to devour the soup so will leave that up to you to decide LOL !!!!

The popcorn was salty and added a bubbly feeling to my tongue with a measly tint of delight . I swear, I could of ate it until the day I die . But those Shirley temples, ohhhhhhh weeee! They were sooooo good and included the perfect amount of cherry! I felt like an angel rocking in Gods lap! For my entree, I chose the most finest delicacy they had to offer. I had the shrimp and crab Alfredo with their gourmet garlic bread. How it was so crisp. To rap it up, I had their Reese's Pieces Pie . The chocolate to peanut butter ratio was perfection . All throughout the meal, my waiter was right there by our side whenever we needed him! He was a nice fella and I wish I had caught his name . The restaurant was popping and the music was just wonderful . The walls had expressive art with a touch of sports jerseys and posters . I played at the arcade in the restaurant after I ate and won a rubber duck ! Who said a little old lady cant have some fun too ! I left feeling like I ate a horse , a quite delicious one indeed! All in all, this place was very well rounded with a check mark for EVERY single box. This is a great place for family and friends and I 100% do RECOMMEND!!!!!

She went on to list a bunch of items she loves from there and kept saying how good the food is, so I was sold. I ended up calling and placing our order, and they dropped it off right at my job, which was super convenient. I ordered the honey barbecue wings and added a side of barbecue sauce--though honestly, I didn't even need it. These wings were slamming. As you can see from the picture, every single wing was soaked perfectly in sauce. No dry spots at all. You get a dozen wings with your order, and they also include celery and ranch on the side. Even the celery and ranch tasted heaven-sent, which says a lot because usually that's just an afterthought. They have a pretty full menu with a nice variety of American-style dishes to choose from. I've heard it's a great bar atmosphere too, although I haven't eaten inside yet--but I'm definitely looking forward to that experience. Based on the food alone, I'll absolutely be ordering from here again.

A short wait for menus and to scour drink menu. I went with pomegranate cosmo, unfortunately it lacked presentation due to shortage of appropriate glassware. Server was apologetic, taste was pleasant but strong and lacking garnish. My friend just ordered a light draft and we ordered Reuben egg rolls to share. Best Reuben egg rolls I have had in the Cuse! Tons of tender corned beef, and just a hint of sauerkraut and Swiss served with thousands island dressing! I ordered an extra for take out for my Irish man at home and short rib tacos. Those did not keep well for take out, more meat and toppings would improve the continuity compared to tortillas. Service excellent, frequently checked upon for refills and food order. Prompt delivery and friendly service! Great place for meetups with a pub sports bar atmosphere. I'm not sure I noticed remanence of the prior press room. Many televisions great for sport events. Menu is simple and pub oriented.
