I love the food at this place - but their service is really poor. They aren't equipped to handle a full house and seem to give take out orders precedence over the dine-in crowd. We got there at 6 on Sunday night and they were full - but it was the senior dinner rush so it was at its end. We sat down and waited about 10 min for a menu or even acknowledgment of any kind. Another 10 or so before she took our order. We ordered a couple of combo plates and spring rolls to start. Combo plates come with wonton soup and our spring rolls came out before the soup - but that wasn't until almost 7pm! Around 715 finally got our soup. Finally finished and out the door around 745. Don't get me wrong - the lady serving us was pleasant and the food was great. Although I expected more sesame chicken on my combo plate than I actually got. They either need more staff for a full house (two servers doing tables and clean up, and cashing out guests) plus the owner who only looks after take out orders. I don't think the servers have a defined area and so it would seem some people get lost because you seat yourself. I watched one person get their own menus. Take out good. Dine in bad. read more

This was one of the few places open on a Sunday night in Owen Sound (and it was pretty full). I wasn't expecting much but it still kinda disappointed. I picked one of the few vegetarian options on the menu and it came with pork in the rice. Dietary restriction disrespect aside, it wasn't even that good. read more

A pretty standard small town chinese restaurant. The owner is always there and quite nice. Service is decent. I like the fact that everything is not dripping in oil or fried. I love their lo mein but unfortunately ive found that they tend to not de vein their shrimp (especially since I only eat veggies and seafood). Their garlic broccoli is delicious and well cooked. Not the lukewarm, half ass broccoli you often get at the best of restaurants. read more

Terrible service -- if there is any service at all; it's a so call Chinese restaurant but it gives you a strong impression that the Asians are not welcome. We visited it today, although there are a lot of vacated seats and two not so busy waitresses but our friendly hello greeting has been completely ignored, we had no other choices but leaving. This a very bad feeling and experience we never get at any other restaurants of Canada, I do hope that's a huge misunderstanding here, otherwise it's a big shame I have to say, sadly, as a Asian Canadian. read more

Channings has quickly become our fav restaurant for fresh food in Owen Sound. We usually do the take out combos on the back of the menu as each one feeds an adult with a but of left overs usually. Combo plate number 2 and 9 or 10 are great. Such fresh food non greasy, everything is amazing every time read more
