Firstly, this location has higher prices than the Maryville location. And, while their quesabirria tacos are meaty, they are so greasy and oily it makes them very difficult to enjoy. The Maryville location birria is much better. read more

We have always loved Chapulines on Hunt Rd. The food, the service, every last second of it. The last 2 times we have went in there Betty has been running the register. She has been very short, argumentative and hateful. The first time I was annoyed but gave her the benefit of the doubt that something might be going on. We went back in tonight, stood at the counter for 4 minutes before even being acknowledged. While waiting for our food the table number broke. When we went back up to the counter to get the food, I explained that it had broken. She snatched it out of my hands and threw it behind her into a trash can. I understand people have hard days, but if you are going to be the first point of contact, there's a level of customer service that needs to be met. Unfortunately, I feel like if this happened multiple times to me I am not the only one. Let's improve on that so customers will continue to return. We will ALWAYS love the quality of food. read more

If you're looking for vegan options, the rice is not vegan as it's made with animal broth. The cashier checked about the beans and both the black beans and pinto beans are not made with animal products so they are vegan friendly. The vegan options consist of fajita style onions and green bell peppers on a taco or in a burrito with a slice of avocado. We opted for one taco with black beans and one with pinto beans. We also ordered the chips and guacamole. The chips and guacamole were very good. The tacos were not to our liking and we only ate about half of each one. First off you got to know this is not a fine dining restaurant, it's connected to a gas station so if you go there expecting more you'll be disappointed. I'd like to give them a 3.5 star but this app won't let you. I don't quite think they were bad but not really a 4 star. I ordered a steak street taco, some rice, pinto beans and street corn. I ordered to go and they didn't include all I ordered so they lose a star for that. The food I did get was ok, it's definitely a huge step up from Taco Bell, but it does seem like fast food. The chips & salsa were good, the rice also was good, the street taco was good but needed some additional spicing up. I'd like to go back and try the fajitas or a chimichanga and add some additional veggies to make more of a decision. You order at the cashier, it was delivered quickly, they seem nice but not overly outgoing. Bottom line, I'd like to try it one more time but it wouldn't be a restaurant I would make a habit of going to. I decided to try this place again, and it was outstanding, everything was a great flavor and they were super nice. Can't say enough about how ordering the right thing makes a big difference! We are from Bakersfield California and have struggled finding a good place for quick Mexican food. This place is ligit!! Salsa bar with a great selection. Their meat is quality. As soon as the cashier saw us lingering on the menu board, he asked if it was our first time ordering. When we said it was, he proceeded to patiently give us a complete overview and recommendations from the menu. I liked the alacarte menu. The prices and portions were spot on too. I had a fried shrimp and carnitas taco and a Corona beer. (They only have Mexican selections). My wife and I shared a side of street corn. It was definitely large enough to share. All the food is cooked fresh to order. They have a huge menu for a small place. There's a salsa bar to dress your food as you wish. One more thing. Place is located at the end of a gas station. The folks I work with nicknamed it "gas station tacos". The first time they said that I was a bit hesitant. Let me tell you don't let the location throw you off. This place is awesome! The line at lunch is out the door. Parking can be a little challenging as they do share the lot with the gas station. They only have indoor seating with out 12 4 person booths and a bar top that 4 people can sit at. I have had tacos and the fajita bowl and all have been excellent. I have been here about 10 times and never had a bad meal. Great staff, clean restaurant and reasonable prices. Definitely give them a try you won't regret it. read more

Ok guys, my husband and I are originally from central CA. We have been on the hunt for traditional Mexican food, street tacos specifically. Well I can honestly say we have found it. This was amazing. We tried the pork belly tacos , and the steak "asada" tacos. Oh my gosh! This were so good. We also ordered beans and rice. This is the most traditional Mexican food we have found since moving to TN over 2 years ago. The street tacos are amazing I will definitely be back. The servers were very nice.
