Came here earlier this week for a quick lunch. This little hole-in-the-wall was quite popular for lunch, even later in the afternoon on a weekday. They boast both an indoor and outdoor ordering station. While known for their burgers, they also had a sort of hot bar with southern cooking (chicken livers, southern veggies, etc). You can also get milkshakes and ice cream for dessert. They have indoor and outdoor seating. I came with a large number of coworkers; I opted for outdoor but there was room for everyone to go where they pleased. The service was polite and welcoming. However, the woman who took my order seemed to have a hard time hearing me, which wound up ultimately creating a problem. I asked for a mushroom and Swiss burger, to which she responded, "A burger with no mustard?" And I said,"No ma'am, a mushroom and Swiss burger." She said "got it," in a way that suggested to me that she maybe really didn't...and when my order was delivered to me, I wound up with a totally plain burger, but for a ton of mustard on top. We were in a hurry and it had taken a while to get our orders out to our large party, so I didn't figure it was worth sending back. But for this mistake, my food was yummy and I enjoyed it. The fries on the side were about average but they were hot and fresh. The burger patty was juicy and cooked well and the bun was nicely toasted. Couldn't resist checking this place out after all the fabulous reviews. If you go anytime during or close to lunch time on the weekend, this place looks to be packed out. They have an indoor window where you can place orders, but there is also a spot outside, so they are doubling up on the orders that they are taking. One star deduct for the impatient person that took my order. Not everyone has eaten here before and may need a second to compile what they want. My order wasn't difficult, but I don't like specific things on my burger, please don't get frustrated when people are trying to customize their order a bit. The food took about thirty minutes to come out, but it was fresh and hot off the grill. The burger, a slightly modified CharBurger (no tomato - no sauce - add bacon). Tasted like a good home made burger. As other reviews have said, cooked done, but not dry, still plenty juicy on the inside. I'd give the burger 4 stars. The fries were really good as well and had the perfect amount of seasoning. I'd give the fries 5 stars. The onion rings on the other hand, not my favorite. Too much batter and really nothing special about the flavor of it. I'd give the onion rings 2 0r 3 out of 5 (Note: you can get a 1/2 and 1/2 order of fries and onion rings). The milk shake was where they really shined! Great creamy flavor and thick enough you could drink it, but not so thin you could drink it quickly. I'd give the shake 5 stars. The place itself, would be classified as a dive, which is perfectly ok with me. Some of the best food comes from places like that, and these guys put out some good quality food. Amazing burgers! Great service and laid back atmosphere. Wildcat burger is the staple on the menu but they have other great stuff.

I love the Charburger! Not sure what their "sauce" is, but it freakin' works. The burgers are always perfect, well done, but not over-cooked and dry. Their fries are like homemade and excellent. I have been there MANY times, but this last visit cost them a star. When I say "no onions", I mean NO ONIONS! I am highly allergic and it took two days to fully recover from the poison to my system (thank you Benadryl - you likely saved my life). I had a bad experience with a delivery. I am a primary care giver and sometimes just get too tired to cook. Today was one of those days. Char burger had to close early because of staffing. The delivery people didn't let me know for 45 minutes. By then we were hungry and I was tired and irritated. I complained and Char Burger replied wonderfully. That's a great business that listens and responds without reacting. We have never had one of their burgers ( we are vegetarian) but they make a great omelet. read more

Stopped in for breakfast. I have to say it was really good, but the biscuits were like hockey pucks even after being drowned in gravy. I'm chalking that up to they start serving breakfast at 6AM and we didn't get there until 9 and it appeared that they had already cooked biscuits for the day and were heating them up as ordered. Hash browns were stale/crunchy.. like they had been partially fried, sat in grease and then heated up when we ordered.. it was like chewing on gravel. I would give them a second. We drove an hour and a half away from home for a basketball game and were starving- lo and behold this hole in the wall, doesn't look like much. But I've gotta say - BEST BURGERS we've had in years!!! We both had double cheeseburger meals. Meat juicy and cooked perfectly. The cheese was amazing - two slices! The burgers tasted fresh. You can easily tell that they are hand formed and grilled. The fries tasted like typical fast food fries except that ours seemed like they had been cooked, gotten cold and then dropped back in the oil. My husband had a chocolate shake that tasted more like thickened chocolate milk. I will come back during the week to try their lunch offerings but I probably wouldn't come back for burgers and fries. While my Mushroom Swish Burger was excellent, my wife order a grilled cheese with Fries. She always specifies "No Pickles" They brought her food with pickles. She advised the person who brought the food of the error. They offered to take the plate back and remake it. She took them up on the offer. I was suspicious that they were back at the table in less then two minutes with the food. You can't make a grilled cheese that fast, and they didn't. Their was still pickles juice on the plate and you could smell it on the fries too. Needless to say my wife refuses to eat there again. They lied to her when they said they remade the food. Slow because they were making the food fresh. Their breakfast and lunch bar offerings look promising. They have some pictures and lists of offerings on their FaceBook page. Another reviewer talked about their off brand ketchup. I suspect she mistook their wildcat sauce for ketchup.
