Delicious home cooked meals. Love the catfish. The service could be a bit better but overall a good place to eat.

My food came out quickly. When I arrived home, the BBQ pork was still warm. The ranch dressing was nice and cold. The cheese on my salad melted into the meat and was delicious. The salad was excellent, made with fresh crispy lettuce. If you like this type of salad, please stop by. It tastes so good!

This spot does barbeque, catfish, and chicken fingers. There's a fairly large parking lot and lots of space inside, as well as a drive-through. The inside is basic but features some country decor (like, redneck country, not cowboy country, lol). You order at the counter. The ladies' bathroom was clean. Service was...nice, I guess, but I couldn't help but feel like I was getting looked at funny when I didn't know the standard protocol for ordering/getting sauce/picking up food, etc. Definitely a "local" vibe. The very loud conversation about the election a large table of patrons was engaged in didn't help. That's not the restaurant's fault, but it still wasn't what I wanted to listen to while I ate. Anyway, I wound up ordering the smaller chicken finger plate since those came highly recommended in reviews. The plate comes with fries, coleslaw, and hush puppies. They call your number when your food is ready and you pick it up at the counter. There's a large array of sauce bottles so you can grab your favorites to take to the table. I was a little concerned about the sauces that usually need refrigeration just sitting out on the counter, but the bottles themselves were cold so I guess they figured out some kind of system to keep them chilled. I was...frankly disappointed in the tenders. They had a very strange, slightly cakey breading (rather than crumbly/crispy) that got soggy and soft very quickly. They reminded me of Chili's chicken crispers, which I really don't like. Ranch improved them some but I don't think I finished a single tender. The fries were frozen-fried crinkle cuts and needed a scoch more salt. I skipped the slaw. I enjoyed the hush puppies dipped in ketchup! Very oniony. Overall, nothing super objectionable but just didn't wow me too much. If I return in the future, I'll try some barbeque instead.

We decided on the Rib Plate with two sides and a brisket sandwich with one side and our adventures began! The owner Robert was hands on taking our ordering and cutting a generous portion of fall off the bone ribs! The menu said 4 bones, he cut easily six, and oh my gosh delicious! The tow sides of collard greens and steakhouse style potato salad was just as good! The brisket sandwich was huge and overflowing with the most flavorful and moist brisket we ever tasted! The side of coke slaw was homemade and yummy! The hospitality from the moment we walked in the door was over the top with several employees checking in if we needed anything or if they can be of help, The owner Robert even stopped by our table to ask how was everything on the little break he got! We drove here from Knoxville and will gladly drive back to try the other menu items!!!

First time visiting, and not only was the food to the moon fantastic with portions big enough to feed the inhabitants of Jupiter! but the man serenaded me. Yes, I got dinner and a show. The brisket? Tender enough to not use your dentures The pulled pork? Plentiful like it was trying to apologize for every bad BBQ I've ever had. And that Georgia sweet sauce? A whole spiritual experience. The green beans came in seasoned like they had something to prove, and the banana puddin'... well, that was the kind of dessert that makes you rethink your life choices in the best way. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. Loved the rustic eclectic decor! 10/10 would celebrate being fabulous here again.

The fish was fresh, seasoned well and cooked crispy like I requested it. I love their vinegar slaw and the baked beans were good. Not going to lie, I was a bit shocked how small the pieces of fish were considering generous portions of other foods I've tried here. I ordered the 3 piece, thinking I'd have a little leftover for dinner, but nah. Lol. It IS enough for a lunch portion, though. Their loaded nachos are still my favorite thing to eat here!

It was extremely tender and melts in your mouth! You don't need a knife because it falls apart on its own and it was seasoned to perfection. The smoked wings were delicious as well and paired perfectly with the white sauce. The mac wasn't the greatest but I enjoyed the potato salad. The Texas toast was a great addition and was perfect for creating a little bbq sandwich. My total came out to around $32 which I felt was a bit pricey when I had paid but after getting my plate I realized how large the portions were which totally justified the cost. At most BBQ restaurants I usually finish all my food but here I had left overs so I basically got 2 meals out of the one plate. Another thing I liked is that they have a variety of sauces and they aren't stingy with them. Overall this is a great spot with friendly staff that provides wonderful service. The food is delicious and the restaurant is clean and well decorated. I will definitely be back! I was told that Boarhog's is the best BBQ in Huntsville and I can now confirm that as true!

10/10--absolutely worth the stop!…read more If you're heading to Lynchburg for the Jack Daniel's Distillery (or any of the nearby whiskey distilleries), do yourself a favor and eat at Barrel House BBQ afterward. First things first: if you're a die-hard brisket lover, just know they don't serve brisket. But honestly? Their ribs more than make up for it. Coming from Florida, where truly great, non-franchise barbecue can be hard to find, we're always excited to try local BBQ when we travel. Barrel House absolutely exceeded our expectations. We ordered the three-meat platter with sides (and couldn't resist adding a couple of extras), and every single bite was fantastic. The meats were tender and juicy, nothing was dry, and the barbecue sauce was incredible. What really made the experience stand out was the atmosphere. It's a small, tucked-away hole-in-the-wall that feels welcoming the moment you walk in. You can grab a marker and sign the walls, which was a fun touch, and they also encourage guests to leave signed dollar bills that are donated to a charitable cause each year. It's those little details that make places memorable. The owner (or manager--I never did ask which) was outstanding. Even during a busy lunch rush, he was everywhere at once--helping customers, running food, supporting his staff, and making sure everyone was taken care of. You could tell he genuinely cared about both his employees and his guests. Sometimes the best restaurants are the ones hiding down a side street, and this place proves it. We'll absolutely be back the next time we're in Lynchburg. Highly recommend!

The waitress was friendly and gave some amazing recommendations!! The sandwich was a nice touch. Very original and filling. Their potato salad was one of the better ones I've had in a long, long time. The vinegar slaw was great and original as well. Nicely done. The best part of this meal were the ribs. I have got to say that these were the best ribs I've ever had in my life. And, let me tell you... I've had a lot of ribs... the meat just melted off the bones. The flavor was next level. And, the proportions of meat to bone are ones I've never seen in my life, not even at a backyard barbecue. If you haven't been and are in the area, go check it out!!! You won't be disappointed. Ah-mazing!!!
