Passed by this burrito joint while visiting the finger lakes, and we stopped in for lunch. It was a great choice. The place has a cool vibe; exposed brick and wide plank floors, chalked up menu. We were happily greeted by the staff, and they quickly put our orders together. We got one burrito and two bowls. The staff talked us through the order, putting each one together with the several choices of fixins. It's like that burrito chain (rhymes with Bipotlay), but the staff are cool and happy, and the food looks super fresh. Three meals came to about $35 total, so affordable. Bowls were stacked, and the burrito was big, about the size of a prairie dog. Ish. Taste was great. A little more kick or spice in some of the food would have made it all perfect. (I got mild salsa in my burrito; should have gone with medium or hot). You can't go wrong with this place. Typically enjoy our meals from Charr and I haven't been since Covid closed the area until yesterday but from March to now something has happened because the quality of food and portions have exponentially dropped. I got a burrito bowl with sparse amounts of everything but what was really the nail in the coffin was the beef tacos. Not only was there a HUGE piece of fat included in a taco with beef attached which was quite disgusting to look at and horrifying had it been bitten into but to top it off the grease from the beef created a large bowl at the bottom of the container and soaked all the tortillas. Needless to say it wasn't a pleasant dining experience and highly disappointing. I don't see us returning, definitely not any time soon but maybe never again smh. The restaurant is basically a local version of the Chipotle national chain. It is good basic food at a reasonable price...... perfect for college kids. So I love this place, BUT the past two times it was horrible. First time I chalked it up because people have days and I work in the food industry. But today I walked in, greeted the person at the counter by saying hi how are you? They just looked at me and didn't say a word. So I responded I'm doing good how are you? (Again) no response just straight looked at me as if I had three heads? So I walked out. I am a polite person and for someone not to respond three times I when I'm trying to order food. I was working in the area and decided to check this place out for lunch. From what I read, this location just opened, but the business has been around for longer. The inside is super modern and charming - that whole rustic chic vibe! During my visit, everything tasted super fresh, and there were more topping options than Chipotle - such a plus!!!! I got a pork burrito bowl with pinto beans, lettuce, salsa verde, jalapenos, red cabbage, cilantro, and sour cream. It was definitely delicious and very fresh! Both my coworkers had chicken bowls and loved them, as well! I wish places like this would stock horchata - only a few do. So that's a recommendation for the future! Even though the place was packed with a Tuesday lunch crowd they walked me through the 'build your own' Burrito in minutes. The selection of ingredients was huge, the quality of the ingredients was 1st class, the portions were generous. We ate in and sat at a bar where we could watch the ebb and flow of historic Castle St. It took awhile to eat my Burrito (it must have weighed 2 pounds) but even though the place was busy and I'm hard of hearing we could still understand each other in normal conversation level voice. I was very pleased with the price (under $25 for 2 lunches with drinks). I was also pleased that when it came time to leave I was able to put my packaging in recycle. Char is a really fun spot in Seneca with fresh, delicious food. It's the same premise as Chipotle, but local and fresh. My husband and I both ordered salads and appreciated that it was easy to avoid dairy and eggs. I highly recommend the vinaigrette for the salad! We were looking for a quick stop for lunch on our way up to the Erie Canal. Read some quick reviews and decided to give Char a try. Restaurant is quiet, quaint, and very clean. And the food - delicious! I ordered the vege bowl and my husband got three beef tacos. We also got an order of chips and guacamole. All the food was wonderfully cooked, seasoned - all very fresh. While walking around Geneva, we passed Char Burrito Bar so we stopped in. The atmosphere was pleasant and so were the employees. They asked if it was our first time there, we said yes. They explained how the whole thing worked. When we sat to eat our food, it was delicious! I love Moe's because they have fresh ingredients. This place is about the same, but far better. You pick if you want tacos, a bowl, a burrito, etc. From there what meat and the ingredients. The menu states if there are any extra charges such as guacamole, which even Moe's charges extra for. This place kind of reminds me of Chipotle with its menu options. The difference is the 'local vibe' it offers. They use local, pasture raised meats and everything onsite tasted fresh.
