I was looking for a new dry cleaner in Napa and Chardonnay was in a convenient location for me. When I walked in, I was not greeted so I said I was a new customer. The person behind the counter told me to write down my name and number on a piece of paper. I did so and started handing them my laundry. She told me it would take a week to get my cleaning back. I asked about a minor repair on a jacket she said it would be at least a eeek for the repair and another week for the cleaning. At this point, I questioned walking in the door, then I looked around and the place was filthy. The person behind the counter was so rude that I decided to take my business elsewhere. They over charged me by $14 and instead of refunding me the overcharged amount (which by the way is because they tried giving me someone else's blouse), they told me the manager would call me back. Nobody called me so I went back and asked to be refunded and I was told I have a $10 credit on my account! This is illegal. You cannot do this. I bought a new blouse that got tangled up in the washing machine the first time I cleaned it. It was so badly wrinkled, that I could not fix it with a steamer or re-washing, and ironing didn't seem like the solution because of how thin the material is. I received the blouse back in perfect condition and was surprised to see this little note attached. This is definitely a business that holds itself to high standards. They did a great job! I dropped off a few items to them at the beginning of the month for dry cleaning and repairs. One of the items came back with these weird inky black stains, and another item completely disappeared (still don't have it in my possession). The owner proceeded to gaslight me on the phone the whole time, accusing me of the wrongdoing of the items. When I told him that I should have never done business with them because of his business's bad reviews, he stated "Every dry cleaner in Napa has bad reviews". My husband took 5 items for a dry cleaner, dress shirts and a suit, a couple weeks ago after he picked those items on 06/10/24 a burgundy shirt got several decoloration all over but the worse was, his suit didn't fit on him pants shorter and coat sleeves shorts too, we where attending a ceremony far away from home and with the short time to go get something else to ware. I when over Chardonnay cleaners on Wednesday to put my complain, expecting they take the responsibility for the damage of the shirt and for switch his suit some where else, we need to get reimbursement for those garments, the suit itself cost over $900.00 and the shirt $170 On Wednesday when I explain the attendant what was the situation and my complain, she explain that her manager will contact my husband to fallow up with this issue that day or the fallow day. They really need to have more times available for alterations - not everyone can take time off work to get alterations done. I got an appointment for today as I happen to be off work today and they happen to be open, but I was running about 15 minutes late and called them to let them know. Turns out their alterations employee had already left, which I was a bit annoyed by - it had only been 15 minutes! The person on the other end of the phone said I could still come in and they could do it for me, but not the alteration job, just the pins. If I could alter clothing myself, why would I have made an alterations appointment in the first place?!? Also I found the scheduling of the original appointment a tad frustrating. I booked this appointment at the end of May and asked if Wednesday the 19th (meaning JUNE 19th, something I thought was implied!) was open. They said no, we are closed on Sundays. I assume they thought I meant May 19th, a date that had passed at the time of my call. I dropped off 4 men's dress shirts. When I arrived to pick them up on the day I was told they were ready they said only 2 of the shirts are ready but that I could pay for everything and take them home and then come back later that day to get the rest. I did just that. After getting home that evening with the second part of the order my husband noticed we had only received 3 shirts back. I immediately called and was told they didn't see I had dropped off 4 shirts. I told them I have the receipt that I paid for 4. They told me they would review the security video and call me back the next day. It's now been 3 weeks later. I have called multiple times and been in the store 3 times and each time I'm told the manager is out but "will call you before the end of the day". I've never received a call. When I called again yesterday I was told the same thing "manager is out but he needs to review the video". I told her I've been waiting weeks and she said "he will be here in 30-40 mins and I will personally make sure he calls you." He has not. The dress shirt is over $100 and at this point it's been almost a month since I first dropped it off. Not sure what to do as I've paid for the dress shirt to be dry cleaned and I've been ghosted by the manager. On a recent trip home to see my mom, she gave me a tablecloth and set of napkins. They are simple but embroidered by my grandmother and I remember their presence at many a family meal in my childhood. They were stained from years of use and simple household cleaning. Worst service! I came in to have my jeans tailored its long so I need to have it shortened. Kids running the show stating I need to make an appt with someone who can take measurements who works from home which is only available on the days on her schedule which is a weekday but some people work on weekdays so I can't possibly take a day off for this small little thing to be cut shorter. So then I suggested can I borrow their pins so I can pin it myself and they told me I have to go home and do that and come back. What a waste of my time trying to communicate with non intelligent people. Common sense isn't common anymore. This was my second time using Chardonnay Cleaners. The first time I had a 5' diameter thick oriental rug. I was told (did not get the name) it would be about $106.00. This was the lowest bid I had received so I took the rug to the Soscol facility. Jackie was very nice and received the rug. Then I get a call that it will be about $165.00 to clean the rug, not the $106.00 had been quoted over the phone a few days prior. I was very tempted to cancel, however, since they were only slightly higher then the other quotes I said to go ahead. It took 2 weeks but the rug was delivered and looked better, but still had some noticeable marks. I know that sometimes stains are permanent. Usually, with other cleaners, there is a note explaining that they could not remove the stains entirely. A note would have been appreciated so that I knew they had worked on it. Then, on my second time, I brought in 3 shirts and Jackie was working the counter. We looked at the shirts and agreed two were for laundry and one for dry cleaning. The shirts were supposed to be delivered on Wed., Sept.7. No Show. I called and was told my route day had been changed to Thursday. The shirts arrived Thursday and looked good. Then I looked at the attached billing and saw all three had been dry cleaned at $10.25 each. I called and spoke to Jasmine. She told me that the laundry price was $4.25. She was very nice and apologized for the error and she (and her co-worker Jackie) put a $20.00 credit my account, not just $12.00, for future use. And she also said my pick up/delivery day was now back Wed. All this makes me a little uncertain about using them again. I will give it one more shot and see how it goes. TBC... read more

I've been a customer for thirty years. I took a sweater into the cleaners in October and presented new credit card information which was refused. I picked up the sweater and again said you have the wrong credit for information and the clerk said no it's paid. 30 days go by I get a statement I go to Chardonnay to pay again refused. I called the manager and was told it was a billing problem and he'd call me the next day. No phone call now another statement came. I spoke to the general manager and explained everything and she refused to listen. She kept saying bill was over due. The worst customer is ever. read more

I stopped in today to drop off my items for cleaning. I've been going to Chardonnay for quite a few years. I dealt with Jackie. But when I arrived none of the open signs were on and the door would not readily open. Jackie was standing behind the second desk didn't look up when I walked in and regretfully took out one of her AirPods. She told me that it would be dropped at my house next week. I let her know that I pickup. I've always had good service. I requested a pick up on Wednesday or Thursday. She told me that there was absolutely nothing she would do to even get me a few of my items before Friday. She blamed COVID. Her attitude is downright awful. When asked her name, she was very snotty and told me she was there every day. I've never seen her before. It's really sad when a locally owned company doesn't at least try to accommodate the locals. Long-time customer. Today experienced rude and demeaning customer service. We gave them 4 valuable items on Monday. Came to pick them up today after their email notice said the items were ready. However, only two items were returned. We understand that stuff happens, but when questioned about the missing items, the clerk repeatedly said "That's all I have for you" when my wife asked about the missing items, and then told her to go home and check her closet for the missing items, implying she was an idiot for asking. She said, "I'll ask the manager to review the security video", perhaps thinking it would prove that my wife had only given two items, not four. When shown the receipt for 4 items, she said she was not the one to process this order because she had been out sick with Covid and was still not feeling well. She then admitted something looked odd with the order but offered no help. This long time Napa company has lost our business, not because of a mishap, but because of rude and insulting behavior.
