We always try to find a cool coffee place when on vacation and I came across this one on our way out of town. It's set in a building with a few other things but I have to say this was by far the best coffee I have had while on our many trips last few weeks. First the staff was very nice and very helpful. I got a pumpkin spice latte it was perfect! Not too sweet but just right and wasn't scalding hot.. perfectly hot!! Then I got a crud fin.. it's like a flaky croissant but in the shape of tall muffin.. I got pina colada one it had frosting on top and delicious cream on inside! Not too much cream but oh my goodness just amazing!! Now I wish IDD bought several to bring home! It's such a cute shop. They have shirts and all kinds of drink ware for sale with company name on it. They allow dogs and I always love seeing all the pups with their owners.. there's a dog treat bowl for the fur babies so they aren't left out! The coolest thing was on the one wall there's a prayer wall. You write down what you pray for and when it comes true you draw a red heart around it..I just loved this place.. I'm hoping I can go and see online if they ship stuff cause all I can think about are those cruffins!! While touring the outer banks we wanted to only use local coffee houses and roasters we started in north GA to Chattanooga down through Florida and up to the outer banks of NC on the last day of our journey we packed up the camper and headed into manteo I would recommend to go back for the camper because it can be difficult to find parking for such a rig in town but let's stay on task if you drink regular coffee everyday when you step into this sanctuary by the water it will be like you are having coffee for the first time hands down the best cup of coffee I've had ever and the cheddar bacon muffin was out of this world a great atmosphere right by the water and several shops around you could spend a few hours exploring and even go back for a second cup don't miss this great spot read more

This little coffee shop is really cute, but a bit pricey. We bought two smoothies and it cost $12.00! I love the idea of the prayer wall! This shop definitely believes in being ambassadors of God, and focuses on the gospel from the music it plays, the books on the shelf, and the Bible versus on the prayer wall. It is comfy, cozy and clean. The two individuals that were there( maybe the owner?) were very friendly! I enjoyed the ambiance but not the price! read more

Best coffee in OBX, hands down! Featured here is a pour over, 2 dirty chais, and a salted caramel frapp. And the bagels.... wow not only was the coffee and food amazing, but the people there are the NICEST! They also had a prayer wall, and I added a prayer for my lovely aunt who is battling cancer. Finding this coffee shop was one of the highlights of our trip! I absolutely adore this coffee shop. It's located in Manteo which is about 7.2 miles from Nags Head. They roast all their own coffee beans. Their coffees are smooth and always made to perfection. I was in Manteo for the afternoon and needed a caffeine fix. While browsing the other shops, I cam across Charis. The late afternoon made for an empty coffee shop and I wasn't sure they were open. They were friendly. As I left I noticed all the 'tags' on the wall. I later read about their mission. If I had known I would have added my own to the wall. Glad I supported a coffee shop with a mission larger than themselves. read more

If you care about your health, don't come here. I went in to order a drink and the woman behind the counter was not wearing a mask. When I asked her about it, she said,"we don't have to if we're not comfortable". I said "well, I'm not comfortable" and I left. Good vibes abound. I spent a couple hours working here and, while doing so, enjoyed the mix of tourists and regulars coming in for coffee or a bite. The owner's friendly demeanor, uplifting music and fun decor -- think chalkboard walls kids can write on -- make this a definite stop. If you need more convincing, the baked items are yummy and a portion of profits go to a different charity ever month. I love social enterprises like this. Kudos! read more

Wow! This place is so peaceful and beautiful. The coffee is excellent and done very well. The croffin (crossaint muffin) was the best "muffin" I've ever had! The best coffee and baristas around. I find myself going daily and I love that this place is my little piece of paradise away from the craziness of the world. The native is a staple of mine and the prayer wall is absolutely gorgeous. Love that they allow you to come in with or without a mask. For those saying they are breaking the "law", laws and "mandates" or "requirements" are all very different things, friend. No laws are being broken here. The house brew was delicious, possibly the best brewed coffee I've had in a while. It was smooth, not acidic, and tasted well with soy milk. Lovely shop and prayer wall. Customer service was mediocre and espresso drinks were subpar. The coffee to milk ratio was off, the temperature was not to specialty coffee standard (Barista Level II and Taster here). Even after paying for an extra shot of espresso in hope to fix the balance, I ended up dumping out my drink on the side walk. Will never return. read more
