We went here twice while visiting on vacation. We thought the coffee was much better the second time. The first time we went, a few days ago, the barista was talking to us a lot about the expected hurricane and we think that is why our coffee orders tasted off. However, we came back Friday and coffee tasted much better! (Even though the first visit was still good we just knew it wasn't what we ordered). What a cute cafe! The location is large with tons of space inside. They sell little local gifts and branded merchandise as well. The staff are kind and friendly, although one of the times we went it took over 20 minutes to get our coffee. We went a couple times because my friend said the coffee was fantastic! However, at $7+ for a latte it seemed a little overpriced. I got a yogurt mixed with mango and coconut. It was delicious, but at $7 it also seemed overpriced. Their pastries are amazing, though, and obviously fresh baked. The apple turnover was flaky with a savory crust mixed with a sweet filling. I would suggest coming for pastries and a drink. read more

I tried a shaken espresso with oat milk and cold foam. They forgot my cold foam but after waiting for 20 minutes for our drinks, I didn't really wanna ask them to fix it. My boyfriend tried a strawberry cheesecake latte and it was pretty good but it was very small for how expensive it was. Had the West Third beverage via barista suggestion and probably would've preferred white west third if I noticed it as an option. But I mean, I had to order some drink because I did not want to get towed, right? Lol Staff is friendly and quick w food. This is typically a come and take out place but this place has a setup for staying in. Typical appropriately sized wooden chair seating in the main dining area and a few couches way in the back. There is some kind of "bar" area that may be used for something later on in the day or special events? With the inside setting, it is too bad they don't have some real meal type food offerings. As true to its name, there is a hang out area to dine outside as well. Why 5 stars instead of 4? I am able to work remotely the entire day with wifi access. Outlets abundant on a wall. Not as quiet as Charis because of the music, but still reasonably so. Also, the place is a local favorite with a homely vibe very suitable for Manteo. read more

Was in town for work and I always try to find a reliable coffee shop to get my day started. I ended up going here 3 days in a row for iced coffee and a breakfast sandwich. Staff were friendly and it was fairly quick so that was nice. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in the area. read more

We got this to go and it was wonderful. Firstly they packaged all the food in a really sturdy card board box which was nice. My family members who went in to get it found the inside to be very welcoming and clean. The employee was very kind. We got to eat an Asiago Bagel with Cream Cheese, Cinnamon Roll, Strawberry Cream Cheese Croissant, and Pro Surfer Zen Cup. To drink we got Coffee, Earl Grey with Lavender/Honey, and Cherry Italian Soda. The cinnamon roll and strawberry croissant were my two favorites. Both were very flavorful and fresh. The last food item was the Egg, Ham, and Cheese Croissant. It was not enjoyable because it was cold. All the beverages were good. I especially enjoyed my tea, they put the right amount of lavender to where you can taste it but it is not overwhelming. Overall, very pleased with our experience and we would recommend! read more

Group of four had 2 16 oz coffees, 2 specialty teas - all excellent, for the price of what 2 drinks at the chain coffee shop would charge. They also have delicious fresh pastries in a roomy, comfortable shop. The workers were pleasant & efficient in processing the order. read more

We came in today on our way back home from camping all week and wanting coffee from local place! Was not disappointed! Coffee was really good and we even got some coffee ground to take home. They have few locations in area and have a couple of options for picking up online or curbside as well. The staff was very nice. The only hiccup was our order got meshed in with someone else's so it took a minute to get it cleared up but they were great about it and so was the customers. Lots of inside space for seating.. you could come and sit and work on laptop with wifi access plus they had a printer ! They offer a good bit of baked items that looked very good too...next time we'd definitely go back! read more

Front Porch Cafe is aesthetically adorable. This is maybe a little cliche on my part...but I really loved the look of the front porch most of all, and appreciated the blend of Southern + laid back coastal energy it gave the building right from the get-go. I didn't have a coffee here, but grabbed one of their pastries for a quick breakfast. There were quite a few to choose from. I went with one of the more savory options and found it to be pretty tasty. The barista was kind, the food came out quickly, the price was decent. [Coronavirus review] This cafe offers tea, coffee, and basic food. The banana nut muffin and pomegranate green tea were fine and inexpensive. What was really clutch about them though is that they were allowing outdoor seating and had working WiFi, a boon for those of us who have online business to do. My reception was mediocre at best in the Outer Banks, so this was an oasis of modernity. They had a couple of high chairs with tables in the shade, and I wasn't the only one taking advantage of a place to sit. Delicious freshly brewed coffee. I was staying in Manteo for work and was looking for a place with good grab-and-go breakfast for my drive back to Raleigh. The Front Porch Cafe was perfect. There were three selections of daily drip coffee (light, medium, and dark). I chose the Kenyan medium coffee and it was smooth and delicious! From what I read on their website, they actually roast the beans onsite. I also ordered a ham, egg, and cheese croissant, which was also very tasty. It was heated up and very easy to eat on the go. The croissant had a bit of a sweet flavor. The restaurant is a warm and friendly place to hang out, sip some coffee, and eat some yummy treats. Beautiful location in Manteo with a nice front porch. Some loud trucks drove up and down the road but that isn't the cafe's fault. Iced drinks are delicious. Nothing finer than a mocha iced drink on a summer day. Friendly staff and the ability to order ahead is A+ service. read more

Great coffee - I don't always like coffee because I prefer strong, fresh ground from bean coffee - which to me gives the best aroma and taste. This place had great coffee. They have some nice pastries and there are a number of wines you can purchase. There are nice comfortable chairs. Well known for their banana nut muffins. Nice place to hang back, catch up on e-mail/facebook..... Friendly staff. The place may not be much to look at from the outside because it is off highway 64 but it's worth it. OK, The first time I went here I gave a review on the wrong place. Funny but the picture showed Front Porch Cafe. I always try to stop here on my visits to the OB. A great atmosphere and the people are very friendly and the coffee is above grade. The bakery treats are scrumptious. I have a weakness for Scones and this cafe has one of the most delicious Cinnamon Scones EVER ! Sorry *Bucks. I go to the other place allot *B -with * being a star. But I have to say , I like Front Porch Cafe better. Larger inside (the one in Manteo) and very clean. The best part is they have a Internet Docking Bar. You have power outlets and a DIRECT CONNECTION ( 100.0 Mbps ). Great for those VPN business travelers ( yours truly ). OH . They supply the cat-5 cable also. It does not get any better than this. A great coffee house that has it all. Make sure you stop when in Manteo. Next to RD Sawyer Motor -The Ford Dealer on Main St Hwy 64. Charming little place that I'm glad to have discovered on my recent OBX vacation. The ambiance is chill and the coffee was delicious. They only had the ingredients available to make one of the menu's yogurt "zen bowls", and it was ultimately a little disappointing. Just yogurt w/ a few flavor blobs sprinkled on top.
