This place is doing a lot with a small staff. At least that's how it appeared the day the seven of us arrived. Happy to find a breakfast place that had vegan options, we loved the looks and menu here. One Gentleman was running the front of the house. He had to take orders, get drinks, etc. Hopefully someone was in the back cooking, lol. Food took awhile but was totally delicious. Five stars easily for quality, quantity and taste. Have to say that none of us were fans of the vessels used as plates though. Made for difficult eating, especially with the pancakes. I ordered the pancake, 2 eggs and turkey sausage. It was a windy day, about 82 and cloudy. I got my eggs scrambled and I also sat outside. I don't usually judge a book by its cover but I think I should have. Nothing special, people behind counter were nice, which does mean something, that's why I gave it a 3. I also got a 16oz coffee. It felt dirty, it was dirty, the containers they serve are cardboard and flimsy, so on a windy day you can only guess what happened. Yep, food on my lap. Service was alright- very nice people. Ordered a bowl with Turkey meat, super greens, rice, cheddar, sweet potato (but they didn't add it), Brussel sprouts, carrots. With avocado ranch as the dressing. Giving it a 9/10. The turkey meat was tender and seasoned well and combination of other foods flavors very good. My husband ordered a Grilled chicken bacon wrap with cucumber salad. It had minimal flavor so it was a 6/10 for him but adding the ranch and other dressings they had, made it better. May be better on a bun (which they do offer) the ranch made that dish decent. Cucumber salad was good. We were excited to taste the Piña colada matcha smoothie as we are adamant matcha lovers. Unfortunately we were very underwhelmed. Definitely a 2/10 and for $8???? Very unfortunate. We kind of tasted the coconut but not much matcha or anything else. We'd give this place a try again. However, extremely over priced unless we were over charged. Wasn't sure about the trash situation. Nothing was labeled. Stopped here for a quick lunch and was definitely not disappointed. Not a full service, you order at the register and self-seat. I had a bowl and the sweet oat smoothie. The bowl was super customizable, they have a ton of options for proteins, veggies, cheese, and other toppings. Everything tasted very fresh. The smoothie was also tasty and was a very plentiful serving. My boyfriend had the chicken bacon wrap and the yogurt parfait, which he was very satisfied with, and my brother had the snickers açaí bowl; he enjoyed it but said it was not very filling. We sat outside and had an amazing view of the water! If the weather permits I would definitely recommend sitting on the deck, though they had some seating inside along with a bar. Such a wonderful place to try! I am super into healthy but flavorful, garden decor, patio places and this had everything. I came on a Saturday about 1pm and the place was not busy at all. You can eat inside or outside and there are umbrellas if you like shade. The water front was beautiful so I sat outside and enjoyed the sun. The outside is beautiful for taking nice photos with the water in the background. The service was very quick. There was a guy and girl working who were very kind, helpful, and had great recommendations. The menu has many options including breakfast, lunch, smoothies, juices, etc. there is something for everyone. Even the pickiest eaters lol I got the omelette and potatoes and my friend got the omelette and pancake with apple sauce. We enjoyed our food so much. My friend also got a beet juice and the flu shot juice and said both were very good. Food came quick. We really enjoyed it. There is also a cute little shop inside that sells a few clothes, little trinkets, and doggie things. I really liked sticker wall (2 for a dollar). I think they could make cheap unique souviners. The first time we stopped by, we got the green magic and snickers açaí bowls to go. Green magic is blended with banana, spinach, kale, mango, lime and apple. Topped with pineapple, apples, coconut, chia seeds and granola. snickers is blended with banana, oats, peanut butter, chocolate and almond milk. Topped with banana, chocolate, energy balls and caramel drizzle. The second time we sat at the cafe and we ordered the tiramisu açaí bowl and the refreshing smoothie. We stopped in for a late breakfast on our way out of town. I appreciate that they had warm vegan options as most places in the area only have smoothies or bowls as a vegan option. I went with the tofu scramble with the addition of another vegetable and vegan cheese with a side of hashbrowns. We got in about 9:30am and the staff was very busy with a few larger families. After we finally ordered we ended up having to wait nearly 45 minutes for our food. The scramble was a bit grease (leaving grease on the table by the time I was done) and was a bit under salted though I could add salt from the table. The hashbrowns were cooked through but not crisp as they were obviously rushed to get cooked. If I was to go back I'd do a bagel to bowl instead. read more

Energy balls had the texture of a protein bar and tasted like the rest. It does wake you up with how bitter it was. Did not finish. * 2 Acai Bowl (forgot the names) - The açaí bowls were ok but you are better off going to the SPOT or other acai bowl places. They clearly weren't memorable seeing as how I forgot the names. * 2 Custom Omelettes with Hash browns - Omelettes were genuinely the high light of the meal. Maybe it's cause everything else was so disappointing but the omelettes were pretty good. The hash browns were fresh and crispy as well. The portions were good for being breakfast and worth the price. Keep in mind though, the "omelettes" here resemble scrambled eggs more than traditional omelettes. * Sweet Oats Smoothie - Really good. As the name suggests, it's SWEET but not unbearably sweet. Oats were good as well. If all we ordered were the omelette and smoothie this would get a five star review. Since we had our dog we decided to sit outside. There's a nice view of the sound as well as jet skier's and boaters. Since this was our first time the server instructed us to review the menu and then walk up to the register, place an order and then wait for a number to be called. My coffee came out first and it was amazing. I ordered a custom omelette of mushrooms tomatoes and two types of cheeses. It comes with a choice of side and I ordered the all grain bread toast. They brought our food out to us. The amazing the 3 egg omelette was so fresh and hearty. The other half of my breakfast is being taken home for tomorrow's breakfast. Normally I have a clever opening or something to tie the reader into continuing the review. But honestly, Freshfit Cafe is just amazing and you should go there. I have Celiac so I always appreciate places that are aware of their allergens, but Freshfit Cafe takes it one step further and can make just about anything on their menu gluten free, dairy free, or vegan. And don't let that stop you if you're not sensitive or follow any of those, they have plenty of gluteny, dairy, and meaty things as well. --Food: I had the most amazing gluten free bacon shrimp wrap from here when we came. I make no exaggeration, best wrap I've ever had, gluten free or otherwise (I was diagnosed a few years ago, I do know what gluten tastes like from the good ole' days). Everything in the wrap was fresh and full of flavor. I can't recall the last time I've felt so highly of lettuce and tomato as an actual delicious ingredient instead of a filler, but it was just all so tasty. The avocado ranch is the perfect bridge to that, the bacon, the shrimp, and the cheese. The wrap itself was also delicious, which as other people with gluten intolerance or allergies can attest to, is no small feat. (It was so good I emailed them wondering if they could tell me what brand of wraps they use and they did tell me!) You might be wondering how seemingly common ingredients can make such a delicious meal, and honestly, I have no clue. I will say if I lived or worked nearby, I would probably eat here just about every day. For a side I got beans and rice. It was good. Not wrap level good, but good. My partner was feeling in a brunchy mood and got a dark chocolate chip pancake with hashbrowns and enjoyed it as well. --Cost: I think lunch came to around $25 or $30 for the two meals combined. Given that the wrap was so good, I can't complain. --Service: There were signs that mentioned they were super short staffed, yet everyone was incredibly pleasant, kind, and helpful. If they were working at half staff and were this great, I don't think anything could break their spirits. Food was a little backed up but given their staff at the time, that's not something you can be mad at. --Atmosphere: They're located right on the water on what Google Maps leads me to believe is the Roanoke Sound. (Not on the beach, but very close!) It was windy so we ate inside but it was a really nice view of some water out the window! --Overall: My favorite meal I had during our visit to OBX. It wasn't a joke; if I lived or worked nearby, I think I'd order here all the time. I really want to try the burgers, other wraps, bowls, and omelettes. Heck, I'd probably try anything.
