Cafe and dessert place and bar all in one by the International Village. This place has everything. Parking is pretty atrocious here. Guess there are some T&T spots in the underground lot. The inside is pretty modern. Nice and quiet too, which makes it great for chatting. The owner is friendly and chatty. The place sells a bit of everything. Sandwiches, soups, pastries, desserts, and more. I was in the mood for something sweet, and went for the signature (award winning) apple cheesecake. I must say this is pretty freaking good. Not too sweet (most other places add way too much sugar), and good texture and consistency. Special mention. For a few dollars more, one can also add upgrades such as ice cream, though I didn't try this time around. I'd gladly come back to try more of their food. Recommended. read more

I got a black tea with grass jelly and almond milk to go. It was self service, scan the QR code, send in your order, then the guy takes your payment. It felt wrong that it still prompted me to give 12% tip when there is virtually no service. The bubble tea was over $10 which feels outrageous even for downtown. It was one of the worst bubble teas I've had. The tea base wasn't that good, and the grass jelly is definitely the worst I've had in Vancouver. The texture is really firm and tough, and it tasted terrible, like it's straight out of a can. I love grass jelly, but I could not eat this one. read more

Top notch service. I work in customer service and appreciate those who take service to the next level. The gentleman who helped us was great. Very friendly and helped us place out to go order. He proactively brought up the free drink with minimum purchase. We got a lemon drink with boba that was very good. Our dinner included 2 soups a burger and the lobster grilled cheese. The boba drinks were ok. I can barely taste the jasmine green tea in my boba, it tasted watered down. We will probably not go back.

My boyfriend, friends and I decided to drive up to Vancouver for a day and wanted to go out for drinks, but we're looking for someplace mellow as it was a long day. If you ever want spiked boba, please come here! We also munched on a lot of appetizers: mozzarella sticks, curly fries, and chicken tenders. What really made this a pleasant experience was the music, seating and most importantly the customer service! They were super sweet and had us leave with a big smile on our face. I went here on Jan24th for a cake fix and Yelp showed me Charisma near Chinatown. I wanted to try somewhere different other than Trees so Charisma seemed to be perfect spot. I had Apple Cheesecake ($7.50) and Lemon Tea ($2.75) and they were delicious. Cheesecake was big and filling, and I felt worried if I couldn't have dinner afterwards. The owner was friendly. This cafe is lovely inside... right when you walk in there's some plants and a small fountain, and the seating area is very spacious and neat. Ordering was a little confusing for me though - if you look at the way the seating area is structured, it's like a table service restaurant, and they had waiters bringing food to people in the booths. Not sure if you can sit down and order. I just wanted to grab a drink and sit outside, so I stood by the counter for a few minutes, but as all the staff was dealing with the sit-down customers, I began to wonder if maybe I wasn't meant to order from the counter. Eventually someone came to take my order, though, and he was very friendly. It again took a while for them to make my drink, and they apologized for the wait. Not a big deal since they were so well-mannered and I wasn't in a hurry. I got the fresh taro milk tea with pudding. Anywhere I can get a fresh taro drink is usually a win for me. I was expecting more of a taro flavour to the milk tea but I think it's just plain milk tea with fresh taro bits. The taro was great, the milk tea could have been a little stronger. If I had known it was a milk tea with fresh taro and not a fresh taro-flavoured milk tea I would've gotten a different topping since the taro and pudding is a bit of a difficult texture combination, but the pudding was still very good. The pricing for the bubble tea is so reasonable! Most drinks come out to about $5 when you add toppings, and the cup is rather large. I want to come back to try the cheesecake. My friends and I were looking for a place to do some work and catch up for the new year. Though we only shared a dessert, there were many lunch deals noted on the walls. -convenient location: right by the stadium- Chinatown station Cons: - a little pricey: can't remember what the exact price was, but for an order of the fruitopia waffles with a toffee brandy ice cream and a pot of tea ( add on of $3-4) was $6.50 each for three people. Minus 1 star for the pricing but literally that was the only con so despite that, I would definitely want to come back to try the other menu items! Got a chance to try their tiramisu and white chocolate matcha cheesecake. The white chocolate matcha cheesecake was what caught all of our eyes as we walked into this place. Desserts: guess what? This place won the best cheesecake contest just a few days before!!!!! And their white chocolate matcha cheesecake did not disappoint. It was not dense at all like a normal cheesecake but relatively easy and super enjoyable to eat, likewise with the tiramisu. The cheesecake wasn't too overpowering with white chocolate or matcha but a perfect balance between the two, as matcha tends to have a potent taste. Tiramisu felt like it was missing just a touch of something, but it was also tasty and enjoyable. Atmosphere: It was pretty dead quiet, though we arrived only 20 minutes from closing. This place is spacious and almost felt like being at a hotel with the tranquil Music, lighting and spacing. This cafe is nestled right inside the roundabout where T&T is, and I have to say that this place took me by surprise! Came here for a bubble tea & cheesecake on a Friday night and I have to say, it was really good!! I got the strawberry milk slush with pearls and they use fresh strawberry so it wasn't too sweet. The pearls however, need some work as they start to harden pretty quickly. Maybe it was a one off! The raspberry cheesecake was REALLY good. It was soft and melted in my mouth. Delicious!! The owner seems to really take pride in his cheesecakes so I would definitely recommend this place. Plenty of space inside and they have happy hour specials from 2-7PM. First off, phenomenal customer service. I've actually ordered through DoorDash, and as there weren't any drivers around to pick up my order, it took a LONG time for the food to be delivered. And they stayed open for me much past their closing time to get my order through. Secondly, their cheesecakes are amazing!! I was looking for a good fried zucchini option and this restaurant came up on my Uber eats app. It was a great price so I decided to give them a try. They were also open later than other options, so I appreciated the hours. The fried zucchini was delicious and came with a side of ranch. The cafe is spacious inside but we choose the patio to enjoy our chocolate with strawberry bits ice cream ($4 or so for a single) and tea (forgot which kind but I didn't anticipate it being so sweet so I didn't finish it. The interior is pretty nice and gives options for small and large parties. You can also get cheesecake, small food bites, and pastries here. I've passed by this place so many times and regret only thinking to try it out just before the pandemic. We were there on a Saturday evening around 8:30pm - not too many customers but our food took a while. We ordered two dessert waffle dishes. Golden waffles that were crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and in creative flavour combinations. Came here on February 24 just before 9pm. I have to say the hostess fellow was one of the best greeters I have ever had serve me. To appreciate his customers as he did was awesome. He explained the menu to me as it was my first time here. The strawberry sundae waffle was delicious. It was not superb but was good. Can not complain over a nice cafe quiet environment. Very rude, bad service, bad food, overpriced. I sat down during non-peak hours (the cafe was basically empty) and was waiting for my friend to arrive before ordering. The staff asking me if I was waiting for someone and I said so sorry yes I am, so it seemed like they were aware and okay with it. When my friend arrived, he went to the front and ordered and paid first and the staff told him they were not going to serve him until his friend (me) ordered. He was a fully paying customer and they threatened to withhold the food he paid for until his friend ordered?! Incredibly passive aggressive and rude. If they wanted me to order before sitting down, they could have just said to my face "sorry, seating is for paying customers" instead of being passive aggressive. They thankfully ended up bringing my friend his drink before I ordered but the server was being pushy and passive aggressive and asked me if I had ordered yet when I was still looking at the menu and deciding... I didn't want to make a fuss so I ended up buying a soup and it was terrible - worse than the canned stuff. And it cost $10 after tax. Total ripoff, rude staff, bad food, will never be coming back here again. Avoid at all costs. Edit: I mistakenly wrote this review while I was still at the cafe and the owner confronted me while I was there. He was very defensive and condescending and kept gaslighting me and invalidating my experience instead of apologizing and acknowledging that I had a negative experience. Their chesscakes are delicious. They're super fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth tasty. I gotta say it's one of the best cheesecake I've had in Vancouver. But don't take my word for it because I'm pretty bias toward soft and fluffy chesscake! Aside from their cheesecakes I've also tried their bubble teas - good but nothing spectacular, and bubble waffles - too hard for my teeth and lacked the chewiness bubble waffles should have. I've lived in the Crosstown area for over 6 years - I have long awaited a GOOD bubble tea place to arrive in the area and finally, it has!! We've been disappointed with the places in Tinsletown over and over but now we will always visit our friends at Charisma Cafe! Over the past few days we have enjoyed their Original Milk Tea, Passion Fruit Green Tea and the Strawberry Mango Fresh Fruit Slush. The one stand out drink in my mind has been the House Tea Signature Shake! This thing is a like a Hong Kong milk tea slush, the tea flavour is fantastic and is my go-to drink! We've also had the pleasure to experience their Signature Apple Cheesecake - I've had cheesecake before which claimed to be "apple" but they never did it for me flavour wise...always lacked. This cheesecake by Charisma Cafe is fantastic, great flavour and apple slices on top with a crunchy crust! The staff are extremely friendly and know how to meet your needs flavour wise. Really good! The place is very nice and clean so it is a good place to hang out. I ordered an Oreo shake and I was way better than I expected to be. Even my boyfriend had to buy one too cause he couldn't resist it.It did take 10-15 mins but it was totally worth it. The price of the shake with "pearls" was of 7 dlls which I think is pretty good since the size of the shake is big enough.
