    Earl Gray cream puff

Is this place really open 24h? If so, that is awesome. We came at 6pm and it was so busy, every seat taken. Other times we have tried to come there is a line out the door. They have sandwiches, every dessert you could want and drinks. The London fog was the best I have ever had and is my favorite drink. The early gray cream puff was fantastic. My husband had the London fog donut which was also good. Everything was reasonably priced and fully stocked at night.

Rarely is a bakery open 24/7. Breka is great for this & there are quite a few locations in downtown Vancouver. This shop is spacious yet cozy. Service, food, drinks, & pastries are all good. I especially love the breakfast cookies (only $1.50 CAD each!). They are loaded with oatmeal, dried fruit, chocolate. Bakers dozen gets you a free cookie. Yum! I also like their grass jelly milk tea but it's seasonal & only offered in the summer.

Good spot for a quick drink and sweet treat. The white chocolate hot cocoa was delicious (and the whipped cream was lovely). Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors as well, it was easy to grab a table to sit for a bit.

Egg salad sandwich + dates & walnut hamantaschen + sencha

This Breka cafe is large and sunny with lots of seating, including small tables, a communal table, and window counters, but is nonetheless always full when I pass by. Although the design is nice, the atmosphere was really hectic because of how busy they were; trying to get a seat was a free for all, the staff was yelling order numbers, and I felt rushed to order before I got to the front of the line which meant I hadn't gotten to even see everything in the display yet. I did manage to grab a seat at the communal table where I was able to enjoy my lunch. I got an egg salad sandwich, a date & walnut hamantaschen, and a cup of sencha. The challah bread that the sandwich was made with was very light and a little sweet and goes well with the egg salad. I would have liked the sandwich a little more if it had lettuce or greens instead of just the egg salad inside. I like that they pair their sandwiches and savoury pastry pockets with a pickle slice. The hamantaschen was also very good - the cookie was fresh and soft, and I loved the flavour of the date-walnut jam filling. Tea is decent too. I've tried other things from other locations, and in general, I think all of their food is tasty and great quality for the affordable prices. Some of the savoury sandwiches and pockets are a little oily/buttery, but they are very tasty. I've really enjoyed all of the cakes I've tried; the desserts are sweet but they come in reasonable portions so I don't feel like it's too much. The donuts are heavenly, super fluffy, but very sweet. The muffins are the only baked good here that I've been a little underwhelmed by - they're not bad but just average. This is not my usual Breka but I wanted to try this one to switch it up. I probably will not come back to this one because I feel like the other locations are more laid back and have nicer staff, but I am just basing this off one visit, so it's of course entirely possible I just visited at a particularly stressful time. I did feel like it was hard to relax while I was here though.

    Iced horchata latte

Breka on Bute Street is a busy cafe with a wide range of selections, from pastries to desserts to sandwiches. On my most recent visit, I got an iced horchata latte, along with a turkey sandwich following a long bike ride with a friend late in the evening. The food and drinks are exceptional at a reasonable price. We sat outside, however, there's seating indoors as well. Just keep in mind this location is very busy, so it might be hard to find a spot!

    Tiramisu and Strawberry Shortcake

My partner has a sweet tooth, so when my cousin spoke highly of this place during our visit to Vancouver, we had to try it. Situated downtown, the place was buzzing with people and we had to wait in queue. The interiors are well lit and spacious but the assortment of items displayed before you keep you glued and simply take your breath away. From sandwiches, cake slices, breads, hot beverages they have a lot. It can be a bit overwhelming with so many options. We decided to go with cake slices and a sandwich. We ordered: Tiramisu Strawberry Shortcake Tuxedo Truffle Black forest Turkey Provolone Sandwich Each bite took me on a delicious adventure. The sandwich was well toasted with a nice crunch, the meat was tender and overall had rich flavours of pesto, garlic spread and provolone. But it was the cakes that blew was mind. All the cakes tasted exquisite. They were soft, creamy and had the right amount of sweetness. Each bite made me to want more. My favorite was the Strawberry Shortcake -- it was heavenly. Overall, this was one of my best food experiences in Vancouver To foodies: Do not miss this place if you are in Vancouver. Must Try. To restaurant: Amazing cakes. Great service. I'll be back for some more. Signing off, CanIndian Foodie ...Stay Hungry

Cretzel ham & cheese melt. A little oily but nice quick bite

Needed to find a late night, quick casual meal and Breka fit the bill. Tons of pastries & sandwiches to choose from and everything we ordered was pretty tasty. The location we went to was looking quite run down though, with leaning tables and trash on the floor near the walls of the dining area. Still, I would come back again. Just do takeout next time.

    Kuffle

Tried two items from Breka Bakery after a long day of adventuring around Stanley Park. We tried the TikTok famous ketchup cookie (yay Canada Day) and a kuffle, which had an interesting description about cream cheese and only cost a little over a dollar. The ketchup cookie was highly overrated in our opinion. At times it tasted like we were eating barf, but the pieces of white chocolate chip were a nice touch. The kuffle was quite good! It was only two bites big but tied us over until the next meal :) I also loved their interior design and it seemed like a great place for young professionals to do corporate work. They had pretty interesting saddle-like seats which I'd never seen before and they were surprisingly comfy!

Can you spot the sauerkraut in this Reuben?

We ordered Reuben sandwiches to take home. Once home, the sandwiches had almost no sauerkraut on them and the bread was hard and dried out. Very unsatisfactory experience!

This spot boasts an extensive array of pastries and sandwiches, but alas, nothing truly captivated my taste buds.

This is an awesome bakery! There are so many options (including sandwiches, which I wasn't aware of), so it's difficult to choose. All of the baked goods and desserts look very tasty. I got a cheesecake brownie and cake pop to share. Both were very rich and decadent, which was exactly what I was looking for. Yum! I also like that this bakery is open 24/7! We came late on a weekend and it was pretty lively.

This is a cute location where the emphasis is on sweet and savoury croissants but they offer Danish, cinnamon buns, tea, and coffee options. We ordered the limited offering of the strawberry creme croissant plus got a regular croissant, onion jam & bacon, pistachio & raspberry, and ham & cheese. All of these croissants were DELICIOUS and the regular croissant brings me memories of Paris! Yes, they are pricey but at around $1.50 to $2.50 more than a croissant from Starbucks a block away, it is well worth it as a treat. I look forward to tasting more flavours and taking friends here to catch up over a delicious croissant and hot cup of tea. The River District neighbourhood needed a cute café like this and so glad they are finally open. Pro tip: if enjoying the treats at home, reheat the croissants in low heat. They taste better warm!
