Went for dinner and then the show at the boardwalk. We had bought tickets in advance online. I typically like to be seated in the center for shows to see everything straight on and upstairs was the only seats left that were in the middle. They have a concession stand on the first floor with popcorn, candy and drinks. The view from center balcony was pretty good and I can say that no secrets of how they do the show were revealed. No "oops I saw the trap door". The show itself was entertaining with a few "wow! How did he do that moments". My husband likes doing magic card tricks and was impressed by a few of tricks, and he's a hard critic lol. The kids loved it. read more

The show is great. Getting there is not. Ticket pickup is well over a mile from the theater. Customers should be told it is a very long walk, not conducive to anyone disabled. I would suggest driving to the ticket pickup location and then getting back in your vehicle and driving to the venue. This show is very enjoyable and provides many great surprises. Rating the show, I would give it 4.5 stars. Vacations Made Easy (the ticket agency) does not provide any information that the venue is a mile away. You have to manually pick up the tickets while the agents try to sell you other experiences. Charles Bach is a great entertainer. It might behoove the producers to offer an online ticketing experience which would make the whole experience enjoyable. Walking over a mile when the heat index is 104 is not pleasurable, especially for folks who have disabilities. read more

The show began a little late , probably to let all the people get in out of the rain and seated. The concession popcorn looked to be the popcorn used for the 7pm magic show. It's now 9pm and I asked if they'd make fresh popcorn and they not only said yes, but they also brought it to my seat. That's great!! The show started with music playing and the face on the screen was singing the songs. It then changed to funny videos from social media/youtube. Finally the Vegas star appears and does some comedy (mostly talking to the audience) before explaining how the night will go. Once 16 people made their way on stage the fun began. I was laughing so hard at some of the things he made them do. It was really hilarious to watch the actions and reactions. Some people you could tell they were not under any type of mild hypnosis and he escorted them off the stage. After the show, I asked one lady if she had fun and she said yes but she knows she was doing stupid stuff. I wish I could have asked others or see their reactions when after they purchased the video and watched themselves. For a funny night, for adults only, this was definitely something different to experience. read more

We frequented the Magic Castle in Los Angeles and let me tell you Charles' show is better than a full night at the magic castle ! We have seen a TON of magic shows and this TOPS them ALL! Saw a candle light concert here. So cool. Always wanted to go to one and this one didn't disappoint. Talented musicians and a cozy, small venue which made it feel really intimate. Only thing I was bummed about- I didn't realize the music list is just an "example" of what they could play. Was so excited to hear "greensleeves" live and they didn't play that one. I also feel like there was maybe a little too much talking between songs... kinda broke up the magic of the set to me since it seemed like he was kinda just reading off of his iPad. That's just my opinion. I did learn that Motzart composed over 800 pieces and died by the age of 35 tho! Wow, already bought a ticket to the Christmas one. read more

Last night we had the pleasure of seeing Charles Bach perform his awesome show at the Wonders Theatre at Broadway at the Beach. The show is non-stop from beginning to end with comedy, mystery, excitement, and wonder. There is even an aerial hoop act performed by his assistant. The concessions were great also. They even offer pizza. Over all Charles is extremely personable and generous with his audience. He even does a meet and greet after every show. A must see!!!! Truly an amazing talent. I saw his show in Hawaii with my family. We were so impressed with his athletic ability as well as his ability to keep the audience attention. Saw Bach. Wouldn't go to his show again. Tried to leave halfway through and exchange tickets for another show and was denied. Bach was really enjoying what he was doing, and I wish him well, but the show was pretty bad. I understand that all "magic" can be explained, but a lot of his acts were easy enough for me, a lay person, to see through without much thought. A pair of magic dancing socks had strings attached to them that were spotted by my mom. A lot of the "ooh this object suddenly vanished!" was because the majority of the acts took place behind a screen a mere foot from the stage curtain behind, allowing for easy passing. One of the most terrible bits involved a panel with five large mirrors in it. It seemed immediately obvious that they could likely be removed to allow for items to pass through. Bach did his whole bit magically passing items through the "solid" panel (behind a sheet), then paused for applause. It took about five seconds for people to start, a lag not seen during any of his other acts, presumably because everyone else was as unimpressed as we were. Some other parts of the show that failed to stick the landing: a portion with an animatronic pair of tourists. Their jokes didn't even manage to break free from flat to cheesy. In the last 20 minutes or so of the show Bach showed us how to do a few simple magic tricks (cool!) but also followed up each with saying "and you can get further instructions and materials by buying my kit right after the show!" We already spent decent money on tickets, didn't really appreciate the extended ad pitch. A single shoutout at the end would have been plenty. Now I will say there were some impressive acts, especially near the end. Summoning sand out of a bowl of water and balancing a woman on almost nothing but air were my two favorites. But they couldn't save the rest of the show. Would suggest you spend your time and money elsewhere. read more

Visited Myrtle Beach while on a trip to South Carolina. The side trip to Myrtle Beach was primarily to see Charles Bach magic show. We were not disappointed, Charles was a charismatic performer/entertainer who controlled the audience from start to finish. The magic, complete with large scale illusions and smaller card tricks held attention of audience from start to finish. Also very funny with many jokes. This was a 90 minute show with a combination of magic, dancing, and acrobatic. Parts of the show were entertaining and fast-moving whereas other parts were slow and very basic magic. Seemed more oriented to families with young children. Sat near the front and 4 or 5 times the spotlight was blinding when turned on the audience, making it difficult to see.
