During a quick off-season visit, I stumbled upon this hidden gem! I was browsing Google Maps to see what attractions were nearby when I came across this spot. I've heard of the Opry before and initially thought of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, but then I realized this is just a small but super cute venue right in Myrtle Beach. While we were in town, the show "Time Warp" was playing, and I honestly thought it was an homage to the Rocky Horror Picture Show. My partner loves that movie, so I decided to get tickets. We weren't sure about our plans, so I waited and booked last-minute tickets, which can be reserved 24 hours prior at a discounted price, probably one of the best decisions! The "Time Warp" show featured songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s, and 90s. The vibe was fun, the talent was superb, and it was just a great time overall. If you're in Myrtle Beach, I definitely recommend giving the Carolina Opry a visit. You won't be disappointed

A fantastic show. The musicians playing a wide range of instruments from a harmonica, a variety of guitars, keyboard, washboard, accordion, banjo, mandolin, bass fondle, grand piano and more were incredible. The singers were great and changed into so many outfits, the dancers were a delight I loved the guys tap dancing and the beautifully graceful female dancers. The comedian was hilarious. The venue was spectacular and the seats were comfortable with plenty of leg room and room for people to pass. Great seats throughout. Bonus, go online and order folex tickets. They are about a third of the price of regular tickets. The catch is that the ticket office assigns tickets to fill in where there are spaces. They guarantee to not split up groups. There were just the two of us and we had great seats. Oh and we received a $5.00 credit for the snack bar.

We have seen several shows here and will return again. Such talented people! We saw Time Warp (my favorite) and The Carolina Opry this trip. We saw the Christmas Show last year. VERY entertaining the whole time. It's amazing how fast two hours go by when you're there. All of the staff, from the ticket takers to the concession stand are very friendly. Can't wait to go back next trip.

Carolina Opry is fabulous venue to see a show in the Myrtle Beach area. First off, the building is stunning inside and out. Your first look at the building gives off classic southern charm. The lobby has thirty foot high ceilings with a grand piano and art relating to the theater. There are two grand staircases leading up to the balcony. The concession stands offer a variety of items including some adult beverages. The theater itself is modern and there isn't a seat in the house that doesn't have a good view of the stage. Oh, as far as dress code. Well many people dress to the nines but you'll find others in shorts (this is a beach town after all). I just wouldn't wear a t-shirt because you'd probably feel out of place but I'm sure you can still get inside.

We always have a great time at the Opry! Very talented individuals musically! The staff is amazing! If there was one thing I'd recommend is your bathrooms smell something awful! It's such a nice place but that was the one thing that made my nose turn! I'd recommend the commercial grade room sprays they sell on Uline! And changing the mop head and do a deep cleaning!

It is what it is! Something Southern and different. Delvin was great. Can't believe the number of costume changes.

I really like this theater for several reasons. It is very clean and they have a nice popcorn and soda deal. The shows are pretty good , a little scattered or strange for me being a yankee. Saw the 60s,70,s,80,s show last week and it was just ok. The attempts at Diana Ross really gave my tinnitus a reason to ring and ring! The comedian was really kind of out dated , my teenage daughter had no idea who aunt B was .. It's also a different thing for us to see the tap dancers, we enjoyed that part of the show. I have seen several shows here and they always have the same tap dancers, one of them thinks he's a chicken ( Mohawk haircut a foot high ) I think it's fake? I like many of the songs , the crowd didn't really get into this show like the last one we attended. My thoughts were that the show didn't really progress chronologically.... It ended with a really long Woodstock tribute which is obviously not chronological. I think you can always say that they played the wrong songs but that's petty subjective and your never going to make everyone happy. Do not pay full price, go online and get a half price deal. If I paid full price $60 I think, I would not have been happy .Definitely a nice outing and I recommend taking in a show while in Myrtle!

Great Holiday show. Many talented musicians, vocalists, dancers, set designers. The Opry itself is an elegant setting and was decorated beautifully. The staff look and act the part for such a grand setting. Courteous, friendly, helpful.

The Christmas show was great. The only flaw was that the music was too loud. All of the performers were terrific.

I would not recommend the Christmas show ... they are using live animals ... way to ruin what could have been a good show.

The feast begins with a biscuit so warm and buttery it could only be baked by the Paula Deen of southern pirates. The main course includes tender "seagull". Myrtle Beach none of the actors sing the songs like the other locations just lip sing . The acting and acrobatics are great just the lip singing takes away so much from the show . We always pay for the vip and the other locations open the doors and seat the vip's first and then the next groups as follow . This one they opened the doors and just let everyone flood in and nobody helps you find your seating . There were multiple other VIP groups who paid for the VIP that also did not get their meet and greet . We were all told to go up stairs to a section and wait for the meet and greet , all groups waiting never got their meet and greet . We all waited until doors opened and we were told to go find our seats . Complete disaster for seating and complete disappointment not getting the meet and greet we paid for , 4 tickets for VIP are not cheat . The photos at this location were shot on cellphones and they still charge you thru the roof absurd pricing for them . The one picture was $36 (I believe )for the cell phone photo . The server we had Shaq (yes like the basketball player's name ) was an amazing server , very attentive , polite , joked , played the part and an all around awesome guy . Food was consistent like the other locations . This location was definitely better at cleaning up plates and such that both the other locations . The pre show was pretty good at Myrtle . Unfortunately, I left wondering if we were all talking about the same place. The ticket says to arrive no later than 6:15 PM for a 7:00 PM show. We did exactly that, only to be herded into a small, overcrowded bar area for nearly an hour. There was one tiny bar trying to serve a packed room, and the bartenders moved at a pace that made the wait even more frustrating. By the time the show started, plenty of people were already visibly intoxicated. The waiting area itself felt old, dirty, and rundown. Two pool tables took up a huge amount of the available space, which made an already cramped situation even worse. Once seated in the showroom, things didn't improve. The tables are packed so tightly together that you have virtually no personal space. You're shoulder-to-shoulder with strangers the entire night. As for the comedy, there were three comedians. The headliner was fine, but the first two acts were rough. Humor is subjective, but judging by the lack of laughter around the room, I wasn't the only one struggling to find them funny. The biggest issue was the complete lack of control over the crowd. The tickets clearly state that drunk and disruptive patrons will be removed. That never happened. People were yelling, having personal conversations, talking, and creating constant distractions. At one point, a guy behind me answered his phone and carried on a full conversation during the show. Staff either didn't notice or didn't care. For a venue that emphasizes comedy, the biggest laughs of the night came from the disconnect between the rules printed on the ticket and what was actually allowed inside. As a local, I won't be back, and I genuinely don't understand where all these five-star reviews are coming from.

Before they seat you they take a picture of your party which you can purchase at the end of the show. I will start with the buffet they offered a pineapple chicken dish thats was a spicy but not where you needed to drink milk . It was really delicious. I also had the white rice which they seasoned and I enjoyed that too. They also offered a Tilapia Dish and pulled pork dish. My husband had that and he enjoyed it too. There was also curly fries and a salad offering too. The desserts where ok - they were individual cakes slices a few varieties that they offered up in pretty round holders, they were definitely store bought. They were good but not exceptional. The Buffet is all you can eat. They offer Iced Tea and Water with buffet. All other drinks you have to pay for. The Show itself was Amazing. Watching how they interacted with each other was really enjoyable. You could feel the camaraderie among them. The Dancers were Amazing and Graceful. Wish I could move like that. My folks are not the photo takers that I am so if they did this and I didn't recall the mention, there is no photo evidence to the matter so here we go. Presented at the St. John's Inn, the event takes over what appeared to be the entire inside event space. Once the line moved the crowd inside we were greeted by staff in traditional garb and handed leis. Another person played a ukelele to welcome everyone and it set the mood. Inside were all the tables, the stage of course and a small gift shop with items that had an island flare along with a pay per drink bar. The food was set up as a buffet and there was some pork, a fish dish, chicken along with a couple of vegetables and some rice. Some have balked about this being all that was set up to eat but I was actually okay with it. I admit that I thought there would be more along the lines of seafood but I am fussy about that stuff for the most part. The emcee/host was also a part of the musical group that performed a few radio hits with an island flair and I got a kick out of this and then it was time for all of the island presentations. It's difficult to describe it all but there was lots of hula being done by lovely dancers, along with a menacing Haka dance. Then a pause in the night happened while a protective netting was set up between the stage and the patrons and this was done to prevent any accidents with the batons and assorted other items that were used during the fire performance. This was a super exciting part of the night and I give credit the performers for their skills and amazing display. My high rating was mainly because I had a really fun time and had never been to anything like this before in my life. If you're visiting Myrtle Beach and can secure a spot at this show its a worthwhile event. I was able to be sitting closer to the stage which made it all the more thrilling. Thanks for reading.

Sadly, our parents have been long gone and the grandchildren are now grown and out on their own. However, just my hubby and I still made the long drive to Myrtle Beach again. We found out that Greg Rowles now had a show of his own and a new theatre-- The Legacy Theatre. AND we read that the Greg Rowles show had one of the highest ratings of all shows in the Myrtle Beach area! Amazingly, although they were rated the best, they offered greatly reduced ticket prices for all newcomers... which was great! We showed up almost an hour early not knowing the time we would need to get through Myrtle Beach traffic. Once in the lobby, we saw the employees form a large circle. They were all holding hands -- when they invited us to join them. Then they brought up individuals who were sick, or ill, or just needing prayer, Mr Rowles led them in prayer. They prayed for their show and all of their attendees. Mr Rowles offered words of encouragement and thanks to his employees. It was a very moving experience. Before being seated we were able to purchase delicious, freshly baked cookies (sold in individual cellophane bags), freshly made coffee and amazing hot chocolate from the refreshment center. Everyone on the team felt like they were our long gone family members. Watching the show, I found myself laughing, crying, praising God and oh, so grateful that we could hear AND see the talented singers and band members. Visiting the souvenir shop at half time we were able to buy a Christmas Ornament. We asked one of the employees if we could move up from the far end of the third row to two empty seats on the first row. She told me she almost came and got us to offer us the opportunity to move up. It seemed as if every employee on this team really does care about making one's visit memorable. After the unforgettable show, there was a long line of people wanting a photo with Greg, including me and my husband. There was an older woman, all by herself, who shared how much she had wanted a photo with Greg, but had something wrong with her leg and could not get up the stairs to the stage without railing. My sweet hubby helped her up and back down. Seeing how thrilled she was with her photo made us both happy. It seems everyone in attendance left with an even bigger heart of gratitude and concern for others. Yes, we thought we would just enjoy a wonderful Christmas show. . . but instead we got... A TASTE OF HEAVEN!!

Such a Fun and Entertaining Experience!…read more I'm usually more into traditional plays than musical theatre, but the Greg Rowles Legacy Theatre totally won me over! This month's performance was 80s-themed, and they absolutely nailed it. The song selection was spot-on -- from Cyndi Lauper to Bruce Springsteen, and even a fun nod to classic 80s sitcoms. The energy was great, the performers were so engaging, and it was impossible not to sing or dance along. The audience skewed a bit older, but I brought my 9-year-old with me and he stayed focused and entertained the entire time -- which says a lot! They did an excellent job keeping everyone involved and having a great time. Whether you're a fan of music theatre or just looking for a fun night out listening to live music, this place is worth checking out. We'll definitely be back!
