This AMC is one of the chain's older "AMC Classic" locations, originally built as a Carmike Cinema…read morebefore becoming part of AMC. While it has received the standard AMC upgrades--reserved seating, digital projection, mobile ticketing, Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, and a MacGuffins Bar--it still feels like a theater from another era. The staff deserves praise. Everyone I encountered was friendly, helpful, and efficient, making for a pleasant experience from ticket purchase to concessions. Located inside the Myrtle Beach Mall, the theater is part of a shopping center that opened in 1986 and is now anchored by Bass Pro Shops, Guy Fieri's "Flavortown," and Books-A-Million, making it easy to combine a movie with a little shopping. The biggest drawback is the seating. While the stadium-style layout provides good sightlines and keeps the person in front of you from blocking the screen, the seats themselves leave much to be desired. They reminded me of sitting in an airline seat on a long flight--comfortable enough for a while, but not somewhere you'd want to spend three hours. With so many modern theaters offering plush recliners and immersive sound systems, this location feels noticeably behind the times. Overall, this is a perfectly serviceable neighborhood movie theater with courteous staff and all the basic AMC amenities. Just don't expect the luxury experience you'll find at newer cinemas.

****BEWARE OF TERRIBLE MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER SERVICE ****…read more My family purchased tickets through Fandango for an AMC showing, using valid promotional offers provided through Fandango, including an Apple Pay promotion, along with our AMC Stubs member benefits. We arrived at the theater on time, purchased popcorn and other concessions, and proceeded to have our tickets scanned. Only then were we informed that the showing had been canceled. We were told that notification had been sent by email. However, we did not receive any cancellation notice prior to arriving at the theater. In fact, the only emails we received before our arrival were promotional emails encouraging us to purchase concessions in advance. Had we received timely notice that the showing had been canceled, we would not have made the unnecessary trip or purchased concessions. We were also informed that our tickets had already been refunded. As of the time of this letter, no refund has been received or reflected in our account. Equally concerning was the manner in which this situation was handled by the theater manager, Rosa. When we initially sought assistance, she offered no meaningful help or solution. Only after we returned to speak with her again did she state that the matter was Fandango's responsibility. Regardless of where the tickets were purchased, we were standing in an AMC theater after arriving for an AMC movie that had been canceled without our knowledge. We expected a far more customer-focused response. As both a paid Stubbs Premiere member and an AMC shareholder, I find this experience especially troubling. Shareholders have a vested interest in the company's reputation, customer satisfaction, and long-term success. Situations such as this, particularly when compounded by poor customer service and conflicting information regarding notifications and refunds, undermine customer confidence and reflect poorly on the company. **** GO TO THIS THEATRE AT YOUR OWN RISK ****

Popcorn was fresh and warm, and you get free refills. They have Coca-Cola Freestyle machines, and there are so many options your head spins. Restrooms were clean, although a little outdated, as they had manual flushers and no paper seat covers. I do take off a star though for the cost and the dull decor. Before we even got concessions we were hitting almost $60, and had the person not worked it out, we were looking at almost $200. Candy, especially the cotton candy was over priced, although they said its the best candy to get for the value. I have never heard of sticky messy cotton candy at a movie theater, but okay. Drinks got refills, so that was great, but the almost $9 price point was not. Popcorn was $12 for a large that got refills, and it came in tacky paper bags that just were nasty once you put the NOT BUTTER in them. When I asked about the butter, the man behind the stand told me that they do not have actual butter, and when he got the ingredient list for me, I was a little bothered to know I was only putting the equivalent of Crisco on my popcorn. I keep a star for their transparency. They were a little pushy about trying to get us to buy the hot food, but after hearing the cost, and what came on it I was turned off. Also you have burgers, chicken, and all that restaurant food that doesn't fit, but don't have bottled coffee or just hot dogs at the ready? Not that I want to pay $8 for a 6 inch hot dog. Pricey Pricey! I was also unhappy with all the alcohol pushing. I don't bring my family places like this to get tipsy or drunk and I don't believe people in this area need another place for people to get wasted... I will say though finally, it was a good experience despite the negatives, and we did enjoy our double feature. Paw Patrol and Spiderman in one day! Please take off that weird family abduction advertisement though...I don't want someone stealing me in to watch a movie. What even was that, lol!

The seats were very comfortable but the cleanliness was not. Popcorn and trash all over the rugs, bathroom smelled of urine and did not seem to be cleaned in weeks, soda station was sticky, dirty and out of supplies. I paid $39 for a large popcorn, small drink and junior mints. The popcorn deal was large popcorn, m&m and large drink. They were out of large cups and m&m. Don't understand that at all. I bought 6 tickets for $16 plus each which i am fine it the experience would have been better.

I like how you are able to sit wherever. Whereas other theatres you have to choose a seat on the screen when purchasing tickets. That being said I will always choose the Terrace over any other theatre in Charleston. If you haven't gone to the terrace please support them they are amazing. The staff and everything else about this place is fantastic!!! Tip: when you are seeing a movie make sure to get there early to get a good parking spot the lot is small so they always suggest to carpool or get there early enough to find a parking spot. There is additional parking in the back and it's clearly marked it's a gravel lot. So make sure you get there in plenty of time that way you aren't stuck finding a spot. Anyways terrace theatre is a must go !!!

The seats are comfortable, the lobby can get just a bit crowded but not claustrophobic. Pick a movie from its website or on its lighted "awning" (as some call it) and you are certain to find something today, if not, then tomorrow as the films change sometimes every couple of days. I have seen and enjoyed here, every single time. Come here and ejnjoy. Down side? Looking for an extra couple of minutes to find a parking space out front or just start out back instead for sure parking.
