I actually had an excellent experience with the doctors for ob/gyn for over 8 years, which was terminated by the office staff in an office I have never been to or had an appointment with who got in there via computer system, actual relationship unknown other than the office she works in is probably 20 minutes from where I live per Google Maps. Demanded cash under the table in large amounts for further appointments that evidently had included terminating my insurance at appt dates, only for Naperville at one point, and false statements about accepting my insurance that when I went to the insurance company finally they did remedy as well as make sure she no longer was able to withhold records and for cash only for that either. But that is the one criticism I have, which is that office staff are able to and there was nothing I could do about it or the disturbance she was conducting for a good two weeks. At one point she went on at length about how the patients must learn all of their computer systems per office, and its evidently become somewhat like that with and via office managers in general at least at that point. I would actually recommend not returning any manager calls or emails that start like this and instead going straight to the insurance company to get your records and terminate the disturbance. In the long run HRD can sue the companies about staff vs us, but on this basis, ending the disturbance and stranger danger bullying and worse, is all you can do. There is law separating us from them with annual training course training required by HRA, but beyond that, you are being dragged into a war only they benefit from unless forcibly terminated. Licensing almost always also does this, but its also a long drawn out nightmare potentially while they keep going, vs insurance company vs to enforce the law to be on their provider list as clout being waived, able to complain on your behalf if they feel they should. Its pretty much all you can do. Also per insurance co as the only people who will and can protect you from them. And having the same problem reaching anybody who would provide mandatory licensed instead of the office staff. You have a computer system database invasion of your regulated info access by a practitioner unsupervised stranger danger when they do this highly illegal thing to patients and customers. Almost always anonymous due to illegality known to the employee. In banking at one point in the 90s, people like this were "borrowing" savings account deposits as 'free loans' to invest and return that got caught when they couldn't put the money back. The federal court issued a ruling allowing supervisor arrest for not monitoring the employees in that kind of case and theft "under their noses". Here they would need to block employees from unlimited access to our information and supervise them to stop them, and set computer system alarms and triggers notifying practitioners, but so far I know of nobody coming down on practitioners or other entities when staff do this but at US Bank also banking industry. In an analagous in that misuse regard, we now have to go somewhere else also for that much safety from the persons involved, of unknown relationship or what provoked this. But you can get your records out of them which are actually in turns out are supposed to be available on demand for free from the electronic portal but you have to know that and locate them. It was very sad in some ways after that kind of a very positive experience with the doctors who made a real difference vs what it usually seems or can turn into causing nasty problems that shouldn't be there., for years and years, and the office in Naperville or Lutheran General a couple of times. But it seems to be a coming plague with office employees and the public with licensed regulated services that aren't per regulation when the staff can turn them into this with a danger to you if they successfully entrap you into more than terminating the anonymous office person and getting your records, etc. Appears to be computer system office management system created as a problem in general potentially anywhere you go that could happen any time. Always licensed services are immediately out the window when it does. There is so little on practical basis that you can do about it and your safety, with your medical services out the window entirely, that its important to know how to at least get your records so you can get timely care somewhere else if at all possible and the insurance company can address what is supposed to be 30 days notice required also for services with a covering physician and refills, if you can't do it fast enough to go somewhere else in time for any reason. read more

I unfortunately have never experienced Dr. Miller, but I did experience his associate, Dr. Sasaki. Please avoid her at ALL costs!!! I suffer from endometriosis and received a laparoscopy from Dr. Sasaki (2021). Going into the surgery, I was confident I would come out feeling like a completely different pain-free woman. I WAS SO WRONG. I woke up in excruciating pain! I was told it was because I just had surgery, but I knew something wasn't right. Day one post surgery was hell. I was in the worst pain I have ever experienced in my life. Existing was complete agony. I called the 24 hour nurse and no one called me back. They NEVER called me back, and there are bogus rules about calling more than once (you get put to the end of the line). When I was finally about to make an appointment with Sasaki (MONTHS later), she told me there was nothing more she could do. She scheduled an ultrasound and the TECHNICIAN told me I need to "re-think" my pain because she didn't see anything wrong. I lost all hope with this practice. It's the worst bedside manner I have ever experienced in my short amount of life. After my surgery, I must have had 25-35 doctors appointments to figure out my pain. After flying across the country to help mitigate my pain, my doctor noticed something VERY UPSETTING!! Sasaki TORE my LABRUM DURING MY LAPAROSCOPY (proven by 5 different doctors). Sasaki, you took away my life by putting me in excruciating pain. For almost 2 years, I walked around with my labrum torn 75%. I lost friends, jobs, education, and my chosen career. For the longest time, this avoidable mistake made me want to die. What young woman wants to get dozens of surgeries and/or injections into their pelvic floor? This surgery was supposed to change my life for the better. Instead, my life was robbed in an irreplaceable way. Please, for the love of god, avoid this "doctor." Wait for Dr. Miller if you have to go to this practice. Do not settle for the butcher. read more

Because of Dr. Miller, I am now infertile and I have pain and problems everywhere. A little background about me first: I have 3 children, back to back, all conceived naturally just after 1 try. I was always extremely fertile with normal cycles and no pain aside from just normal mild menstrual cramps. My cycles were always between 30-31 days long. Everything functioned normally. When I was 34, my husband and I wanted one more baby to complete our family and again, after 1 cycle, we were pregnant again with our 4th baby and ecstatic to complete our family. Sadly, because my other 3 were all c-sections, I had a scar defect that I was unaware of and this baby attached to the scar defect and was not a viable pregnancy. I had no idea I even had the c-section scar defect (called an isthmocele) and was told that if I wanted to try to have another baby, I needed to get this isthmocele repaired. This is how I met Dr. Miller, who was supposed to repair my isthmocele so that when I conceived again, I would not have to worry about my fertilized egg attaching to an isthmocele again. I was relieved to learn that he could repair my isthmocele and ready for him to do the surgery, as we wanted to have our last baby before I turned 35 and my husband turned 40. Right before the surgery in June of 2023, Dr. Miller's assistant came in the room to explain surgery and mentioned that they would also *maybe* do a uterine uplift. I had no idea what that was. When I asked her to explain that to me, she just told me that it "lifts a saggy uterus after having had children and helps with fertility." It sounded great to me, even though I never had issues conceiving before this surgery. I had no idea it also required permanent sutures. When surgery was over, they told me they did indeed do the uterine uplift as well as repair the isthmocele. During recovery, I was in the most pain I had ever been in (and compared to my three previous c-sections, the pain I had now was 100 times worse.) I had pain that radiated from my lower right groin all the way up to my right hip and around to my back. I also had left lower palpitations near my ovary. Both of my hips would lock in place and feel sore. I called the office about all of this many times in the beginning and the on-call doctors, but they said it's because of the uplift procedure, so I just felt like I had to wait it out and let it all heal. The right sided pain never went away. My hips always locked up. The palpitations by my left ovary grew stronger month by month. I saw Dr. Miller in September, November, January, and March to look for help and answers. At first, he was patient and told me the pain would eventually go away, but my symptoms and problems became worse. In February, I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion on my left side (which explained the palpitations) but still no answers for my right side. 4 days after I was diagnosed with pelvic congestion, I started feeling excruciating pain on my left side near my ovary. This is because when he did the uplift procedure, he changed the anatomy of my pelvis drastically, which caused my veins to fail, and now I have pelvic congestion and blood back flow. I have swelling and pain on my left side now, too, in addition to my right side. Dr. Miller said he'd never heard of any of this happening before and suggested he can take the sutures out or I can try physical therapy. He was also very rude at one of my appointments that I had to travel at 3:30am to Naperville for (I live in the city). When I went to ask him a question at that appointment, he abruptly interrupted me, told me I am not allowed to ask him any questions at this appointment and if I wanted to ask a question, I had to set up a phone consult the way every other patient does (even though I was already in the room with him for an appointment)-- then told me he "has done everything perfectly" and walked out of the room. Which made me cry. After seeing a few OBGYNs about all of my new problems (to which they were confused why Dr. Miller even did a uterine uplift in the first place as all of my pelvic organs were functioning normally and it was unnecessary for him to even do that)-- I found a new specialist who could remove the permanent sutures that were put in (as other OBGYNs told me that I should have the sutures removed as these could be my source of pain and problems) and scheduled surgery with him. So, the new specialist removed the sutures and I have had absolutely no more pain on my right side, and my hips do not lock up anymore. The sutures were causing so much discomfort, pain, and the uplift caused my PCS, which is now something that I live with daily. I am always in pain on my lower left side, and it is always swollen. My periods are extremely heavy now and last 10 days, and my menstrual cramps are so painful. The most heartbreaking part of all of this, is we can no longer conceive, either. I originally met Dr. Miller over a decade ago as an egg donor. I remembered him taking great care of me then, and always educating me on every step of the process. This prompted me to reach out to him again recently, as I have had numerous long term reproductive issues - and MANY nurses, doctors, specialists have dismissed my symptoms over the years. Dr. Miller has been kind, attentive, and extremely informative. He has been realistic in setting expectations and reviewing options, and because of him my issues are solved. My long term pain and discomfort have also diminished greatly. His nursing staff is amazing as well. Every time I left a post op message, they usually reached out to me in less than an hour or two. They checked in on me for the first few days following my surgery as well. I can't think of anything negative to say about him, and I'll be referring others to him for sure. Dr. Miller is simply the best! I was hesitant to have my consult with him after reading a number of poor reviews online. However, all my worries went away when I met Dr. Chuck! He was so warm & extremely optimistic. This was my second consult- first with Randy Morris, who was a complete douche-canoe. So i was nervous I'd have a similar experience with Dr. Miller. He was the complete opposite. He really pushed IVF for us as it gave us the best chances. I was reluctant to jump right to IVF after not trying IUI, but I trusted him. And thanks to him, I now have a beautiful one month old baby girl! I'm so glad we trusted Dr. Miller and am incredibly grateful to him for giving us our miracle. My one complaint is there was a lot of miscommunication with his nurses not giving me some info, or they'd leave me a message after they closed for the day, and then I couldn't reach them for clarification without bothering their after hours line. Dr. Miller is amazing! This review is for his associate, Dr. Sasaki. I am very disappointed in how I have been treated by Dr. Sasaki. Last year, I needed a uterine biopsy. They did it at the time of my annual visit last year. I was informed that it would be uncomfortable and that the procedure would be done without anesthetic. It was excruciated to say the least. It was incredibly painful. After the procedure was completed, I was informed that this was a "blind" biopsy of my uterus and that there still could be areas of concern in different parts of my uterus. I was told that I needed a full uterine lining biopsy, like a D+C procedure, which would be performed under anesthesia. I was told that testing the full uterine lining is the "gold standard of care." This is when I felt violated and misinformed. Why didn't we start with the "gold standard" test?????? I explained my anger and frustration regarding doing an extremely painful "blind" biopsy when I still needed to have my entire lining biopsied. I told Dr. Sasaki that I felt misled. Dr. Sasaki explained that this was the progression of tests needed for insurance purposes. Had I been informed PRIOR to the procedure, I would have refused the procedure. I would have gladly paid out of pocket for the biopsy of my full uterine lining. I felt that the doctor did an unnecessary procedure simply to bill my insurance. She was very apologetic at the time and I gave her the benefit of the doubt. I was back at her office today for an annual visit. I was filling out forms and one of the questions asked that I consent to having a "Covid 19 screening as required by our office? (Patient's financial responsibility - $20 per test/person)." I asked Daniella, at the front desk, about this and she said that it is a finger prick test. I explained that I didn't want to have this done and that I'd sign a waiver. She had a medical assistant come out to the waiting room and I repeated that I didn't want the test. She said that it was required in order to be seen. I had driven 24 miles, I arranged for babysitting. I was very frustrated that I was NEVER INFORMED OF THIS POLICY PRIOR TO MY VISIT!!!!!! I asked to speak with the doctor. Dr. Sasaki came out to the waiting room and repeated that this is required to keep everyone safe. It is actually a way for them to make $20/patient and hide behind the claim that they're trying to keep people safe. In the last 2 months, I have seen my oncologist, breast surgeon, and internist. These are all highly respected physicians in the area. NONE of them have a mandatory testing policy in place. I am sickened that there are "professionals" that are finding ways to make money off of a pandemic. I have zero issues with wearing my mask, using hand sanitizer, answering the screening questions, and having my temperature taken. This "policy" reaffirmed my concern that this physician places numbers over quality of care, informed consent, and not over treating and doing unnecessary tests and procedures. It's hard to even know where to start. Dr. Miller is nothing short of an absolute genius. My husband and I started elsewhere for our fertility journey to save time in the car (Dr. Miller's office was about 20 minutes further from our home) and what a mistake that was. We wasted a year and a half at another fertility clinic before my husband encouraged me to schedule a consult with Dr. Miller. From the first moment of our meeting, I was at ease and confident in his approach and his bedside manner. He clearly had read our (hefty) chart and identified four things that medically had not been investigated at our previous clinic. He suggested some further testing, and we got in within a couple of weeks. As an aside, all testing and procedures were completed by Dr. Miller himself, which was a far cry from my previous clinic, where each procedure was completed by someone I didn't know who barely introduced themselves. Everything Dr. Miller suspected was confirmed by testing, and for each identified problem he had a clear plan. He took time to invest in my health and wellness, and when my body was ready we moved forward with stimulation and retrieval. Dr. Miller's approach worked to great effect. Two previous rounds of IVF elsewhere had resulted in only one embryo and a miscarriage. In one retrieval with Dr. Miller, we got 5 very high quality embryos, transferred one, and as of this post I am almost 13 weeks pregnant. This is a first class clinic! A few years back, my wife and I began with fertility treatments at another clinic. After two disappointing attempts where we got pregnant and miscarried, we decided to try Dr Miller who we had heard about through a friend at my wife's job. Prior to starting fertility treatment, Dr Miller took a sensible approach and did a full battery of tests to determine any pre-existing factors which would inhibit conception and birth of a baby. We found out that my wife has anti-phospholipid syndrome, which is a clotting disorder. This is not an uncommon condition, and women who have this can miscarry within 6-10 weeks of pregnancy due to the embryo not getting adequate nutrients for survival due to the clotting. Knowing this, my wife took blood thinners through her pregnancy and in March of 2013 we had our beautiful daughter. A little over a year and a half later, we became pregnant naturally and had our son in August of 2015. Although Dr Miller was not involved in the conception of our son, it is clear that if he had not diagnosed my wife's condition we would not have had either of our wonderful children. Our previous clinic wanted to go straight to donor eggs which would have resulted in a similar heartbreaking result. Some clinics will bleed as many attempts as your medical insurance will pay for to get extra money from each patient. Not Dr Miller. He took the approach that helped us get it right the first time. I'm generally a fan. My experience as a fertility patient (and new mommy) can best be divided into two branches, those being Doctor and nursing/administrative staff experiences. Dr. Miller exudes confidence; he is an accomplished, clever, driven, arrogant man whose impressive resume absolves his insufficient bedside manner. He is, by many standards, one of the top laparascopic surgeons in the country, and runs one of the most applauded and effective fertility clinics in the Chicagoland area. The office itself is right next to Edwards Hospital, consistently named one of the top hospitals in the Chicagoland area and situated adjacent to Downtown Naperville (which makes navigating quite easy). All in all, if you're looking for a fertility doctor or a competent surgeon for your lady-part ailments, you can rest assured you've got a fantastic choice in Dr. Miller. Just don't expect to meet with him more than once or twice before you have your baby. Despite the obvious return on your investment, Dr. Miller's nursing staff costs his practice one star, in my opinion. To their credit they're fairly nice and (more importantly) competent, but it seems they've taken a customer service primer from Dr. Miller. In short - the nurses and administrative staff aren't quite as interested in you as you would hope; personally, I've had better relationships with nursing staff giving flu shots, which is quite obviously less invasive than IVF. Again, my experience ultimately resulted in my goal - a healthy baby and body - so take this rearview mirror whining for what it's worth. We waited 90 minutes to be seen for a consultation. It was worth every minute. Dr. Miller was kind and patiently covered all of my questions. As he puts is he's not a "protocol Doctor" willing to throw meds on first review but rather a doctor patient and determined enough to find a cause for my infertility. I saw Dr. Miller after I suffered a miscarriage because my OB knew I potentially had a septate uterus. It was determined through blood work that the miscarriage was due to Turners syndrome. However, Dr. Miller still wanted to complete a Saline Ultrasound to determine if I do have the uterus abnormality. It was clear after the ultrasound with his equipment that I had a Septate uterus and needed to have surgery to ensure this was not the reason it took my husband and I some time to get pregnant. We completed the surgery, and Dr Miller gave us the okay the first month back. We fell pregnant right away. He took measures very seriously and made me feel confident. I will say, sometimes the office does get very busy... they are helping a lot of females out and Dr. Miller is one of the best in the nation. So sometimes I found myself worried but the office ALWAYS calls back. Dr. Miller is truly a great Dr. and I am so thankfully my OB had me see him! read more

I was referred to Dr. Miller for chronic pelvic pain. I went to ten doctors before I was referred to him. During my consultation he did not ask me about my symptoms or my history. Instead he dictated diagnoses at me and left no time for questions. Seeing as he was my last resort, I stuck it out, I was told he was the best and after ten years of living in pain I felt he could help me. I took all the prescribed tests and patiently waited as he took my case to the review board. The review board meeting was cancelled no one in the practice thought it was important to inform me, the patient. When the meeting was rescheduled and I was given a follow up call I received a phone number of new doctor and that was it. No reasoning, not even the type of medicine this new doctor practiced. I called to seek answers and because the nurses aren't allowed to discuss test results with patients I had to make a phone appointment with Dr. Miller. Five minutes after the scheduled appointment I was alerted to the fact that it would cost $250 to follow up with my doctor for what I planned to be a 15 minute conversation. I immediately asked for my records to be sent to me as it shouldn't be outlandish for a patient to want to know what "abnormal test results" mean. Dr. Miller than called me, continuously calling me by the wrong name, speaking over me and mansplaining to me that he has to charge for phone calls because he's too busy "practicing medicine 7 days a week to have phone calls with patients." I live an hour and 15 minutes away (one way) from the practice, it was not worth my gas and taking a day off work to have a 15 minute follow up. Because of his continual insistence that he couldn't have a lengthy conversation with his patient I felt I could not ask follow up questions. In complicated medical jargon he "explained" my test results. I did not go to medical school and did not know what any of the words used meant. Dr. Miller ended our phone conversation with "really, I'm a good guy." If someone has to convince you they are a good person, run! I felt like I was speaking to Trump. You do not want Trump as your gynecologist. He needs to charge $250 for phone conversations to keep up his fake tan in the gray Midwestern winters. read more

I am so thankful for Dr. Miller!! After going to a specialist who told me at 28 that I would never have children naturally I searched for a second opinion with a highly rated specialist. Dr. Miller was concerned with my AMH levels, but never once gave me the impression that there was no hope. He continued to tell me that everything would be OK and that he would get me pregnant. Based on my levels, most doctors would assume IVF was necessary. He said it may be necessary, but in the future. After a few months of blood work and ultrasounds and trying naturally he still did not resort to IVF. He wanted to try every possible route before we spent our entire life savings. After a quick pelvic exam he suggested I may have endometriosis. I scheduled surgery a month later. 2 weeks after surgery I started my period and ovulated for the first time. During this cycle I also become pregnant!! I am now pregnant with a very healthy baby!!!I am beyond thankful that I seeked a second opinion. He was truly passionate about his job and was so compassionate during some very low points. He never gave up hope and was definitely not after our money!
