There was no sugar-coating, which I greatly appreciated. In all, he was very confident and made sure that I was fit and ready to move forward with each step. For example, there was one time, when my body wasn't ready for one of the procedures. Dr. Levrant informed me that I would have to wait a few weeks. Though I was frustrated with the delay, I was grateful that he didn't rush the process. He wanted to make sure that everything went smoothly. And it did! The nurses and staff made a challenging reality bearable and doable. I actually loved visiting the office just to say hello and give them updates! We will definitely be back when we're ready for baby #2! I cannot recommend Dr. Levrant enough. Thank you for helping us bring our baby into the world.

Dr…read more Weizner seems nice enough, but he perhaps implemented procedures during that check up that were unnecessary, because the next thing I know, my insurance is billing me $400 for what should have been a completely free check up. Mind you, I'm in perfect health and have no complications that would require non-routine procedures (like the ultrasound was not covered for example... I'm not pregnant.. I'm not totally sure what the ultrasound was for). When I contacted Dr. Weitzner's office, they contacted the BCBS office for me, but to no avail. I've had other check ups at other offices and never had a bill to pay at the end. When I explained my situation to his office (and spoke with him directly), they wouldn't budge on any of the billing or give me a break of any kind. Dr. Weitzner should be more up front when he is implementing procedures that aren't considered routine, so patients have an idea of what to expect in terms of billing.

Colleen was very nice, professional, and thorough. She went over my extensive lab work from my first visit, my ultrasound/sonogram data (@12 weeks) and recalculated my due date based on my known ovulation date (vs. LMP). I also appreciated that she explained what my Level 2 (and 20 week) ultrasound will entail, and talked with me about optional testing. I had my belly measured for the first time (!) and finally heard Baby's heartbeat on the fetal Doppler (@17 weeks). Not as exciting as an ultrasound, but so reassuring to hear s/he is still doing okay in there! I know it probably sounds like a bizarre sticking point, but I'm still so happy to go to an office that does testing (i.e. at least urinalysis) at EVERY appointment! The nurses were all nice, as was Colleen, continually asking if I had questions, and making sure they were answered. The receptionist was also friendly. She helped me make a follow-up appointment that works in my schedule. Yep, I definitely love this practice!

Hard to say how the actual practitioners are because I was denied the opportunity to receive care…read more Based on the incredibly rude and short-tempered receptionists who were reluctant to help me when I was having a miscarriage, I'd say go elsewhere. I made an appointment and supplied my insurance information, and received call two hours later saying my appointment had been canceled because they couldn't get in touch with customer service at the insurance company! We verified the phone number and it was correct. No apology for the confusion, and still no offer to get me in to see a doctor right away. In healthcare, the people who answer the phone are sometimes as important at the physicians who treat you later, especially when their incompetence means your care is delayed. There was no concern displayed for the fact that I was pregnant and bleeding - no offer to have a nurse call, no advice, zero help. My insurance policy was current, and it covered my care which I received on an emergency basis from a different, much more compassionate OB group - a group I still see three years later.

Whether it was phone calls late at night or during planned office visits. She was so very thorough and professional during my pregnancy, that we had no worries with her as our doctor. From the day I met Sarah, around my fourth month of pregnancy, I felt I found the nurturing "mother" that I needed. I appreciated that she wasn't "taking over" my birthing journey, but was there to support me and my partner. Sarah is in high demand and cannot predict or expect babies to be born on schedule so appointments take a back seat to birthing mothers. Midwives make every effort to schedule births so they don't overlap, but babies are often on their own schedule. I would add that I appreciate that Sarah empowers women to remember how powerful they are. Reminds us that we are capable of more than the medical industry has led us to believe, where birth is treated as a medical issue, versus a beautiful and natural miracle.

Not to mention that in a previous interview I mentioned I do not like students to work on me/ learn on me and at my first true visit was greeted by an unknown student. When I mentioned my discomfort I was told "I think you should keep in mind this is a wonderful learning opportunity for her". Then without asking or permission said student used a doppler on me to listen to our baby's HB, and wound up pressing so hard prior looking for the fundus and during the listening that I yelped, and later had bruising. I was very disappointed too with the unknown (what I guess were teenage family members) walking through during our meeting, the lack of professionalism (no paperwork/medical forms prior to our first meeting - during our initial consult were given to fill out which later led to a problem since I am latex sensitive, and a mix up in scheduled appointments), took 2.5 weeks to get my bloodwork after we left her care - all in all I found a far better midwife who from minute one showed a profound and marked improvement in professionalism and listening skills. I may have just caught this midwife at a bad time in life, I chose her partly from other's reviews online, but I honestly would not recommend her based on my experience.

Always answers our questions leisurely, the kids love her, and we can usually see her upon short notice or else her associates see us - also good. Her nurse practitioner, Joan Hofer, is outstanding. My insurance no longer covers routine physicals, which the baby still has often, and Dr. Eckberg was cool enouh to reduce her fee which really helped. Nice nurses and receptionists (great phone skills!). You never feel like you're talking with clock-watchers.

And she is so warm, kind, and reassuring, just having her in the room brings everyone a sense of peace. I absolutely recommend her as a doula. I first met Anna as my hypnobirth instructor. My husband and I hired her for in-home private classes because he had recently had Achilles' tendon surgery and it was more convenient to to it in home. I was so terrified of labor that I was almost in tears when I opened the door to Anna. She answered all my questions and her peaceful and wise words calmed me. I wasn't sure I wanted a doula before the class, but after meeting Anna, we decided to ask her to be our doula. She just felt like a wise and comforting friend. The thought of having her there for our birth was very reassuring. During the rest of my pregnancy, she was always available to answer questions and offer supportive words. My son came 11 days late and I really did not want to induce labor. Anna encouraged me to go with my instincts and suggested I discuss it with my doctor. Anna never pushed an agenda or opinion, but encouraged and supported me to be a confident parent who listens to my own parenting instincts. I postponed the induction twice and ended up going into labor naturally. Anna had great advice on natural induction ideas and in the end, it was one her suggestions that finally helped to jump start labor. During labor, Anna was awesome! She came prepared and even brought me chap stick and a ponytail holder, two things I needed but forgot to bring. She even made me a rice sock that we could heat up and use for pain relief. She rubbed my feet with peppermint oil and pushed on my back during contractions and talked me through the surges. Her calm, wise, and comforting presence was soothing to both my husband and me. At one point, after 10 hours of labor, I was not dilating and the doctor wanted to manually dilate me with a catheter, she suggested instead that we try to shift the baby's position first through a series of squats and other exercises. The baby moved his position and I dilated to 7 centimeters in an hour. In the end, I ended up having an emergency c-section due to the baby having the cord wrapped around his neck, but had I induced or done the manual dilation, he may have been forced out too soon and died. Anna's wise advice likely saved our baby's life. During my c-section she helped my husband cope with his anxiety. Afterwards, she stayed with us and helped us with first feeding, breast pumping, and getting settled. She stayed in touch after the birth answering questions about breastfeeding, newborns, and recovery. Then she came to visit us for the postpartum follow-up bringing food, gifts, and tea to help with milk production. I can't imagine a better experience with a doula. Anna has not only an amazing amount of knowledge but is truly a loving, strong, and empowering person. She made me feel more confident as a new mom. The hospital staff kept remarking that they had never seen such an engaged, active, and all around good doula. I recommend her without reservation. She is a gem!

Her voice is always calming and she stays cool and clear-headed in even the most intense situations. During my labor, she intuitively cooled me down with cold compresses. She listened to my body when I couldn't find the words to say "I need counterpressure on my lower back." She pressed tirelessly for hours, a job which required major exertion. She was my guide in labor and I can't imagine having accomplished a natural birth without her. Anna has a deep respect for all human beings, and a true awe with the birthing process. She epitomizes selflessness. I feel honored to have Anna as my doula and I'm sure she will bring her many gifts to other laboring women in her fitting role as a doula.
