This place is the Hollywood of Oral surgery. It may be pricey, but I promise every dollars counts and I would like to give a huge shout out to Christina, Frances, and Dr. Scruggs. They moved so quick i literally would call it a dance around the chair while you feel nothing, but if you can keep your eyes open while feeling completely numb. We agreed on removing one tooth. But leaving the one next to it alone. He waited until I was under snd took them both. Yes. Pulled a tooth without my permission. Knowledge or concert. Then forgot to put bone graft as I was replacing them with posts. I had to return a couple hours later to have it cut open again and Grafting placed. Looked into litigation. But the settlements are so minor in these cases I couldn't continue. read more

My sutures where my 4 wisdom teeth were extracted healed beautifully as they have a great post-op regimen to follow! I have been to see Dr Scruggs a few times and never had a problem until today ... my daughter broke a tooth and it needs to be pulled... she has dental insurance on herself and she is on the plan with her dad ... they told her she could not use his insurance ... they also have a credit plan for those that can't afford it... which is apparently a joke because 4 of us got declined yet we can finance 30k cars!!! The staff was very abrupt and rude to my daughter of which I referred! I do understand if she was getting a normal cleaning where there is no emergency but breaking a tooth is something more dire ... I would think that they would have done everything in their power to help my child since she was in agony...she broke 1 tooth but y'all are saying that she needs 4 pulled... y'all won't even do it if it's only 1 tooth!! I went to Dr. Charles Scruggs of the recommendation of Dr. Lisa Higgs to insert two implants. From the initial meeting my wife and I enjoyed how Dr. Scruggs explained the process, addressed my concerns, his tone of voice was confident and comfortable. Agreed to procedure the same day, was very happy with procedure performed by Dr. Scruggs and staff. Was scheduled today after delays to Covid 19, to open gums, insert plates for new teeth addition. Before going into the office, I was checked out for temperature, other questions concerned with possible Covid 19 contamination. Was brought to office 3, the nurse was very nice, answered my concerns, settle my anxieties. Xray technician took me to get my full orbital xray, return to room 3, nurse prepped me for my procedure, Dr. Scruggs comes in, washes up, has a good conversation with me speaking softly and with confidence. Dr. Scruggs lets me know what the agenda going to take place, they start and within 10-12 minutes my procedure is completed, making me very happy and very relieved. I am very happy with my procedures being completed at Dr. Charles Scruggs office. I continued my day taking care of my planned business, knowing I would have a follow up call by Dr. Scruggs later. I did receive my call to check up on my health status. Dr. Scruggs sincerely closed the conversation offering an open door to call if I had any problems. If I do need another oral surgery dental implant in the future, I will not hesitate to request Dr. Scruggs to perform the procedure or recommend to a friend due to my positive experience. I had major oral surgery yesterday, performed by Dr. Scruggs in his Texas City office. I had several visits leading up to the surgery so that Dr. Scruggs and his staff could plan the surgery. Honestly, I was not looking forward to this. Problems with my teeth, gums and jaw that had plagued me since I was a child were finally being addressed. The staff in his office were caring, patient and reassuring. Although I was under general anesthesia for the procedure, there can be no question that Dr. Scruggs is an excellent surgeon, as everything went according to plan. I expected to be in much more pain than I have actually experienced, which is a big relief. He also has a great sense of humor, which is a appreciated if you are nervous about surgery. I give him and his staff great marks for every part of the process. they are good people working for an outstanding oral surgeon. If you need serious oral surgery and don't know who to trust, by all means, visit with Dr. Scruggs first. read more

On April 20, 2016 I was sent to Dr. Scruggs office by gulf breeze dentist office. I was sent to have a tooth pulled. I don't like the dentist office. They scare me therefore I was very nervous when I went in. I was called back to see Dr. Scruggs, he came in the room, we started talking. He said I need 3 on the right side pulled. I asked him if he could just pull the one that was giving me trouble. He responded with "no, I'm not pulling just one. That would be a waste of both of our time. Don't be a damn chicken" so I agreed to do all 3. At this point I'm still in tears from the pain of the tooth and the fear of being in there. Then he said "you have really sexy lips for a white girl, have you ever heard that before?" I answered with "no." He then said "well, I am married, are you married?" I said "no" he said "I don't disagree with extramarital affairs all the time." At this point I was caught off guard and surprised that he would say these things to me. He then started asking what I did for a living and wanted to get me in touch with some friend of his who could probably use an assistant. He finally said "oh listen to me, I'm not trying to be a life coach, I'll send my nurse back in with your quote" then he left. The nurse came in, I told her I needed to step outside and I left. Later that same day "Kim" from his office called me 3 times. I didn't answer because I really didn't want to have to deal with them anymore. The last time she called I picked up. She asked what had happened, why did i leave. I told her "I couldn't pay the price of the surgery and I was uncomfortable being in the room with the Doctor" She said "why, what happened?" So I told her everything that happened and what he said. Her response was "oh shit!.....ok, let me see what I can do about that price. I'll call you right back" About 4 minutes later she called and said "after talking to the doctor he is very sorry for making you feel uncomfortable and we are going to go ahead and take care of you. We won't charge you for the service" I was excited. I never set out to get it done for free. I just wasn't going to deal with them anymore. Kim just kept calling me. So we booked my appointment for this coming Monday (4/25/16) and we went set. This morning I get another call from the doctors office and its Shelby (another nurse) who says "after thinking about it Dr. Scruggs decided he has trust issues with you and won't be doing the surgery after all." I asked what she meant by trust issues. She said "you walked out and didn't come back" I told her "I feel overwhelmed, scared and uncomfortable" She said "well, you should have told someone" her tone was very snotty. I ended up hanging up on them. I was so mad. So apparently sexual harassment, racism and a rude staff is acceptable at this office. read more

My children have both had wisdom teeth surgery recently with great experiences and results. The office DOES have new updated equipment including digital x-rays and CT scan panoramic if needed.While they both had sedation for procedures ,they were being monitored using new and advanced machines as well. I've never had a tooth extraction before, so I was incredibly scared and anxious over having to get a bad wisdom tooth out. The office squeezed me in for a last minute extraction since Dr. Scruggs would be out until Jan. 2. That made a good first impression. I went in today and I was a nervous wreck. Dr. Scruggs introduced himself to me and I was immediately at ease. There was something about his demeanor. He was professional without being snotty. He had a great sense of humor without being creepy. So, off I go for the extraction and after sitting by myself waiting and signing all of the consents, my emotions got the better of me because I was scared. I teared up a little and a minute later, Dr. Scruggs was there to save the day. He started my IV, which I seriously did not feel and that is a first since I'm historically a hard stick. A minute after that, he was giving me the meds and I was out. About 45 minutes later, I'm done and numb like you can't even imagine. I get my wits about me and they escort me to the car. What a truly wonderful crew he has working for him. They were all so kind and sincere and a little quirky too, which I appreciate. At around 7:30 (2 hours after I left the office), Dr. Scruggs called me personally to check on me. I thanked him for everything and for treating me so well. I have nothing but good to say about Dr. Scruggs and his staff members. I will have to go back in the future and I can honestly say that I don't mind one bit!!!!! read more
