I tried to schedule appointments for my three kids at the dentist on Friday, October 11. I called the office, but no one picked up. Then, I received a text from the office's virtual assistant, Sophia, who seemed eager to help. I explained that I wanted to set up three appointments, and Sophia informed me that they had slots available on Monday, October 14, at 12 PM, 12:30 PM, and 5:30 PM. I was relieved and quickly accepted all three appointments, thinking I had everything lined up perfectly. Fast forward to today--Monday, October 14--I walk into the dentist's office with my kids, only to be met with an entirely different reality. The staff informed me that the appointments I scheduled with Sophia weren't for today. They are actually for October 30. I couldn't believe it! It felt like I had just wasted my entire day, trying to juggle my work schedule and personal commitments around these appointments, all for nothing. What made matters worse was the fact that I had rearranged my work hours to accommodate the dentist visit. I could have gone to work today and simply taken another day off later in the week, but instead, I was left feeling like I had made a colossal mistake. The office manager told me that the virtual assistant "Sophia" is something new that they are trying out and they couldn't accommodate my kids today which only added to my frustration. It's one of those moments where you feel like you're putting in all this effort to balance everything in your life--work, kids, appointments--and then something as simple as scheduling a dentist visit turns into a major headache. I left the office feeling disappointed and upset. All I wanted was to ensure my kids got their dental check-ups without throwing my entire week into disarray. I won't be returning to this office. If they can't even get the schedules right, it makes me wonder if they're truly on top of their game when it comes to cleaning my teeth. I mean, scheduling is such a fundamental part of running an office, and if that's falling through the cracks, what does that say about the attention to detail for the actual dental work? It's a bit concerning! I want to feel confident that the people taking care of oral health are organized and reliable, not just winging it when it comes to appointments. It's just hard to shake off that doubt when you're sitting in the chair, thinking, "If they can't manage a simple schedule, how can I trust them with something as important as teeth?" In the end, it's about finding a place where I feel comfortable and assured that I'm getting the best care possible, and right now, that's just not happening here. If there was an option for me to give zero stars, that's what it would be.

I mean, they're always really nice and courteous on the phone when I call to tell them my son has arrived for his appointment. If you think about it, the first person a patient/parent meets is the receptionist so they can make or break the mood of the appointment. No worries here ... receptionists are SUPERB and a pleasure to deal with. My son's appointment today was with Dr. Ari, his orthodontist. Dr. Ari has always been very open and honest with what needs to be done and what can wait to be done at a later time. He is very reassuring whenever I've had questions about when my son would need to get his braces in. My son actually had his braces put in the month before the pandemic began ... but Dr. Ari never skipped a beat. I got monthly calls to see how things were going and Dr. Ari even FaceTimed my son a couple of times to do virtual appointments to check on how his braces were coming along. Obviously during the period while the office was closed, things were hard but once the office decided to open back up, I got a call requesting to make an appt (if I felt comfortable enough ... which I was) for my son to go in and see Dr. Ari in person. I always recommend Dr. Charlie and Dr. Ari to anyone looking for a top-notch pediatric dentist and/or pediatric orthodontist. Wishing Plainview Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontists continued success is 2021 .. and beyond!!!

From the minute I walked in, I was immediately in a better mood because it looks like an incredibly fun place to be. They have a huge spaceship up front, lots of cool stuff to look at and play on, and even cool stars on the ceiling! More importantly, every single member of the staff I encountered, front office to back, including the doctor, was incredibly kind and gentle with my 2 year old. She is not an easy patient to say the least, and she walked out remarkably happier than she was when she first sat down on my lap in the chair. I also thought it was really sweet that they took a Polaroid of my daughter's first appointment and gave it to me to keep as memory with a magnet that says my first dentist appointment with their info and a cutout to put the Polaroid in. That was so thoughtful, and as someone who takes tons of Polaroids at every big event (Xmas, bdays, etc) I *really* appreciated this gesture. The level of care and compassion I saw today is unmatched by any other medical practice I've been to. Every kid I saw walking out had a smile on their face and goodie bags. Maybe that's not the usual, but I was really impressed.

I never have to wait very long in the waiting room. She is very thorough and you can tell her patrons really love her. The staff is great too. My husband said to me recently, "don't you think she's a little old to be going to a pediatric dentist?" I said I plan on taking her to Dr. Azin as long as she takes her! When my daughter was very young, she received stickers and a small toy. Now that she's older, she gets a toothbrush and floss! She learned that you don't have to fear the dentist (unlike me who had a long phobia of dentists, which I've since gotten over). My friend recommended her and I've recommended her to several friends. It's a rare find to find a really great healthcare professional. She respects her clients and I have nothing but praise for her and her practice. I think she might also have another location but we go to the Bay Shore office. I don't often give five stars but I just think she's awesome and deserves praise. I usually give reviews for restaurants but realized I could have also given a review for Dr. Azin. So here you go! Good luck as you research pediatric dentists. However, if she takes your insurance, it's a no-brainer. She is an excellent dentist.
