Tried to make an appointment (referred by my PCP) , the person who answered the phone was dismissive and rude when I told her why I was referred. When finally accepted that it was ok to be seen ( she checked with someone in the office ) , started taking my information (insurance card numbers ), decided that would not give me and appointment because my Medicare number was not coming up in their system. I have had that number for 13 years and never had an issue. She proceeded to hang up on me !!!!! Don't know her name , but that was enough for me to look for a different practice. read more

Beware-Long post But, if you or someone you know needs a Retinal Surgeon, you need to read!! I had an emergent retinal detachment that required urgent surgery to save my vision. As a doctor and surgeon myself I went into full emergency mode seeking the BEST and the BRIGHTEST. Doctors, nurses and operating room staff 100% agreed that Dr Eifrig was the BEST of the BEST. He saw me the same day, examined me and scheduled surgery very early the next morning. Importantly, it wasn't just cookbook medicine. He really listened to my story, work requirements and tailored his approach to what was best for me. The surgery went smoothly. I feared the worse (that I would lose vision in my one eye). Within the first week there was already noticeable improvement. I cannot speak highly enough of him and his team. everyone was simply amazing! When I explained to Dr Eifrig I had to travel thru higher elevations (a major no no after retinal detachment surgery) for work, that's when I witnessed his true genius. He put on his thinking cap and I could feel his wheels turning to come up with a solution. His enthusiasm and brilliance really shined as he boyishly got excited about his treatment plan. After experiencing severe pain after 2 appointments for shots in my eye with Dr Eifrig I have sought care elsewhere. The office is an assembly line for quick attention. They employ inexperienced interns to administer the numbing drops . They do not take the time to let the application take effect. Dr Eifrig is an EXCELLENT retina specialist. My sister had a blood clot type bleed behind her eye. Dr had to do eye injections which horrified me but he was SO warm , caring and reassuring that by the time he thoroughly numbed her eye with drops, she never even felt a thing. She had 3 of these 2 months apart and it cleared up 100%. He is amazing, personable and really cares about his patient.
