Best Opthalmologist doctor I ever had. Takes care of patients and is concerned with their well being. Very courteous as well and makes you comfortable. Assistants are also well trained and very accommodating. Unfortunately, he no longer works in the Mission Viejo clinic and for now is concentrated in Fullerton office. Hopefully he makes a comeback to Mission Viejo and I will be a returning patient. read more

Tried to confirm an appointment I made with Dr. Krad's Santa Anna location but never could get confirmation. I made an online appointment a few weeks ago but never received confirmation. The Santa Anna office is not reachable by phone so I had to go to their 714 557 5777 number to be sure I had an appointment before I went to office. This proved fruitless and after a few tries I finally had to tell the person at that number that if I did have an appointment I am now cancelling it. Just had my annual check on cataract surgery ,20- 30 vision , Hoping to get my left eye sharper

I went to Dr Omar Krad for treatment of Glaucoma.I was in his Care having faith in his ability to perform the proper medical procedures. In place of following routine method of using drops for the Glaucoma treatment he start talking to me about unnecessary surgeries. First was LASIK surgery then I couldn't drive night time, i complaining with him and he said well didn't work but I strongly recommend for you Cataract surgery. He is a manipulator,incompetent, irresponsible and liar. I went through a terrible pain and my retina was destroyed, on his hands I got blind.I was desperate and I did go back to him try to have some answers and he said to me "Oh don't worry you going to get use to". I am impaired for life. I had an active life style which I can't experience anymore.Nobody should have to go through what he done to me. read more

Unfortunately, this is not a good review. I personally really like Dr. Krad and his staff. However, I urgently needed to be seen and since he was not available I opted to see someone else in his office. Come to find out she wasn't an opthamolgist but an optometrist. I think her last name was Pham but I don't remember at this point. The young lady who got me set up for my appt and took all my eye pics etc was so nice and did a great job. I have Hashimotos and NO thyroid issue. However, I brought it up just to provide insights with what was happening with my eye. The optometrist comes in and immediately says I have thyroid eye disease. The best part she looks at my eyes and goes to use a light to view and the light wasn't working she still used it and told me it's ok just look at it. SMH. Anyways she tells me I have thyroid eye disease and I told her multiple times I don't have HYPERTHYROIDISM and I don't have Graves' disease. She still said I had it, I immediately start crying cuz I'm freaking out she had the worst bedside manner. Didn't even tell me what to do. Just said I need to see a neuro opthamolgist and then come back to see dr. Krad. I asked how I should drive, she said with an eye patch lol. I literally had double vision out of 1 eye I went somewhere else 2 days later. The opthamolgist there suspected I have MS. long story short I ended up in the ER since I needed an MRI AS MY EYE WAS NOT FUNCTIONING. And safe to say I have been diagnosed with MS and NOT thyroid eye disease. 2 other opthamolgists laughed when I said thyroid eye disease as it was apparent this was my 6th cranial nerve. Anywho, I have to give 0 stars for the visit with the wrong diagnosis and horrible bedside manner. 2 stars added for the lovely staff and girl who did my work up. And Dr. krad is still amazing. I was so pissed tho I didn't come back to do my follow up with him. read more

I'm really disappointed and angry with Samantha and Dr.Krad!!!! Well first off Dr. Krad told me he has 10 years experience doing laser. I went ahead and looked at his reviews, he doesn't have a single review about LASIK that I could find, much less recent. He also doesn't indicate any direct Lasik experience on the company's website, which is really strange. The reviews are heavy on Cataracts care only. When I spoke to Samantha she told me he has 10 years of experience, however the lack of reviews or Website information seem to contradict this in a perception is reality world. What makes me angry is that when I had my consultation with Dr. Krad he lied to me right in front of my face!!! That is absolutely not ok to lie to a patient just to make money from me. These are my eyes and I need to make sure I'm under great care. He is a liar and I would completely stay away from him. Cause if he has experience in LASIK you need to see reviews and proof that he does LASIK!!With anything in this country you need proof not just say verbally what they want you to hear!!!! Samantha also, talked highly about Dr. Krad and saying he's number one surgeon, yeah maybe in other areas but not LASIK explicitly. Samantha obviously talked highly about Dr. Krad to make them look better, in my view they were not as forthcoming as I would expect. So be careful, wouldn't recommend them at all since they are not as genuine as they appear to be and not totally transparent with prospective patients! read more

Dr. Omar Krad is definitely one of the GREATEST doctor in his field. He is kind, patient, care, knowledge, understood and more importantly respectful bedside manner. My father who is 77 years old, has diabetes over 20 years and speak no English at all. Originally, he planned to get cataract surgery on the left side of his eye only. After the left side being done, soon he recovered good. I know Dr. Krad did great job from the beginning. So I persuaded my father get right side of his eye done as well since I found a good doctor. While I was picking him up right after the surgery, in front of all the nurse, he told us Dr. Krad spent more time, and more care with him during the surgery, he felt even better than the first time. He was so happy that we made a right decision to get both eyes done. Basically he does not need any glass at all in a very short time. I even introduced Dr. Omar Krad to my father's family Dr. Who he has been taking care of my parents over a decade. Dear Dr. Krad, I appreciated what you have done for my father. Dr. Krad is a genuine, caring man/physician. I had an eye infection unrelated to any procedure. During a weekend call to his answering service Dr. Krad returned my call within 15 minutes. He assessed my situation and called in the necessary medication to the pharmacy. At the end of the week Dr. Krad squeezed me into his booked schedule, due to the fact I'm immune compromised, to make sure my eye health was improving. Dr. Krad is a FANTASTIC DOCTOR! read more

I never even had the opportunity to meet Dr. Krad. I'm sure he's a fabulous doctor. Unfortunately, his front office people are not. When I first called to make an appointment, I asked if they could send me the New Patient Medical Forms to complete at home, prior to coming into the office. Eddie said, "we don't do that." I explained that I have arthritis in my hands and a fairly extensive medical history and would not be able to complete the forms in the office. Again, Eddie said, "we don't do that." That should have been enough for me, but I thought maybe he was having a bad day or I caught him at a bad time. Three days before my appointment, I called to ask if my eyes would be dilated so that I could coordinate transportation if necessary. After listening to hold music for 28 minutes, someone finally answered the phone. I asked her if she could look at my chart to see if my eyes needed to be dilated. She looked at my chart and told me that I would need to contact the Mission Viejo office, she was in the Orange office. When I told her I had called the number for the Mission Viejo office, she said, "Oh, I don't know why they didn't answer their phone. You could try back later, but I would think that there is a 95% chance that they MIGHT be dilated." Perfect! Now I've wasted 45 minutes and have no more information than I did before I called. I decided to wait a day and then called the Mission Viejo office again. I was thrilled when Eddie answered the phone. Once I confirmed that he was in fact in the Mission Viejo office, I asked if he was able to check my chart to see if my eyes would have to be dilated. He asked what day my appointment was and when I said "Thursday", he quickly said no. I asked how he could possibly answer without even knowing my name. He told me that the doctor that works on Thursday DOESN'T USUALLY LIKE TO DILATE. Great, clear as mud again. Knowing that my body rarely falls into the "usual" category, I asked if there was any way we could get a definite answer and explained the transportation issue. He told me that if the doctor said he needed to dilate, I could just refuse. I told him I understand that he can't answer my question but I'm sure that someone else in the office could. He laughed and said "you want me to ask the doctor?" BINGO! We were finally speaking the same language. He told me he would TRY to ask the doctor and would call me back IF he had an answer. Clearly, Eddie was not just having a bad day the first time we spoke. He was actually more ineffective the second time. I called my insurance company and asked for a new referral. Now the insurance company that you are contracted with to send you patients is aware of my terrible experience. I work in the medical field and have filled out more New Patient forms in the last 26 years than I care to count. I even gave your office a second chance to make a first impression. Dr. Krad, you lost a new patient before I even walked through your door. Eddie and the rest of your front office staff are your gatekeepers and may be preventing your practice from thriving. read more

I chose to see Dr. Krad because my last ophthalmologist made mistakes in my contact lens prescriptions two years running and Dr. Krad has stellar Yelp reviews . Previously, I had been diagnosed as being "pre-cataract", and sure enough, Dr. Krad told me I needed cataract surgery. It was scheduled in two sessions two weeks apart. He did my right eye first and the results were amazing. The vision in my right eye is so clear and as importantly, the difference in colors in my corrected vision was remarkable compared to the yellow tinted view from my untreated eye. Yesterday he performed the second surgery, this time at my request without any anesthesia. He explained each step to me as he completed the surgery (it only lasts 10 minutes or so), and it was interesting to hear about the extraction of the cataract in quadrants and the placement of the new lens. The results: No pain at all, either during the surgery or after. I ended up with 20-20 vision (actually better I think) in both eyes. No more contacts! It is important to follow his advice, use the prescribed eyedrops and avoid strenuous activities for at least a week, but that's a trifle compared to amazing vision that will undoubtedly last me the rest of my life. Besides all that, he is a really nice guy and you can tell he really cares about his patients. He has already seen a friend of mine who was equally impressed and I will gladly refer my other friends to him as well. read more

I went to Dr Krad (Eye Associates of Orange County) for testing for Glaucoma on two different occasions and neither time did the Doctor contact me about them. When I called the office their response was no news is good news! What an excuse! Where's is this Doctor's integrity? I don't ever recall not being contacted about any tests that I have taken where a Doctor or an assistant has not informed me of the results. In my opinion I would ask for another referral. I went into get an eye test taken and the receptionist mentioned it would be a really quick in and out visit. I chose not to bring my daughter to the appointment because of covid. When I went inside there were about 8 people sitting on the left side and I did not feel comfortable with that. I asked to sit outside and the receptionist said I will be up shortly. I waited and waited and 30 minutes passed, 40 minutes, and then I called the office to ask when I would be up and that I have been waiting for 40 minutes. The receptionist said just one moment. Then he gave me to another receptionist and she said, "may I help you?" The make receptionist is really nice but he probably shouldn't tell me I will be up soon when I'm not. The female receptionists that I have encountered there are not the most friendly. I had to explain my situation again and she said I will be up soon. After one hour I finally went inside. I was ready to just go in and say cancel my appointment and my future one and then find another Doctor. The assistant said "sorry about the wait." I asked "what happened?" She said, "it is because we have two doctors and we shouldn't be scheduling tests." I was thinking, "if there are two doctors then things should be going faster?" Only one other person was waiting in the office by that time. The assistant asked me if I wear glasses. I didn't have my glasses so I had to walk back to the car to get them. I was pretty annoyed by that point. When the assistant gave me the test she didn't even really give clear directions to me so I wasn't even sure when she was starting the test. This was probably the second time I remember coming to this office and having to wait so long. Dr. Krad is very kind and caring but something needs to change about the scheduling and keeping the appointment times. It was also really uncomfortable having so many people waiting inside with no open doors or anything like that. I have another appointment coming up to actually see Dr. Krad so hope that I don't need to wait so long again. I had to keep putting off my other meeting because this took so long. Perhaps the office can call if they are running late, etc. I will give this office one more chance and I will update you. Update 2/2- I went in for my OCT testing and didn't have to wait as long, maybe 10-15 minutes. There was only one other client in the office waiting. When I went to my optometrist office the week after I asked if they received any of my results from Dr. Krad and they didn't get any tests.
