I know…read morebetter than to believe that, but I thought it'd be a good excuse to sit in and hear how they pitch these things. I wanted to review them and I wanted them to prove me wrong. It was interesting. I decided their salesman is talented--the one who does the pitch. Their other staff is not as talented. They say there's no pressure but I'll be damned if I didn't have to turn them down a dozen times before they finally backed off and offered me my cruise certificate, which will cost almost a $1000 to go on through taxes and fees. Some gift, eh? I expected it, but I did feel bad for the poor suckers who inevitably spent money today and will end up with buyers remorse tomorrow. They could improve it by being more up front with the fees associated with their product, i.e. maintenance fees, taxes, port charges, etc. Also, though I know it works, maybe don't promise things you can't deliver. It might get people in the door, but it pisses them off when you waste their time. Be up front. If your product is good, you shouldn't have to be shady or lie to be successful. Transparency from start to finish would have gotten them a minimum of 3 stars from me, even if I didn't like or couldn't afford the product.

Here's why: 1) Equipment: pretty good selection actually. Lots of free weight options, including barbells, a squat rack, benches, a deadlift area with bumper plates, dumbbells up to 100lbs; plus many machines, including cable machines, and quite a few cardio options. The high point of this gym is definitely the variety of training options. 2) Ambiance: needs work. The whole gym is dark and a bit dingy; the bathrooms are filthy (well, at least the men's was), there's water and who knows what else on the floor and many lockers were broken; equipment is in general disarray, and some machines don't function exactly right. All in all, this gym needs a tune-up! 3) Convenience: 24 hours, close to many downtown hotels, some parking out front. All in all, an ok gym, but definitely needs some TLC!

I understand it's a big facility, of course everyone working out is going to heat the place up... so you would think they'd invest in a better unit and or run it colder. Within five minutes of being there, before I start working out on occasions, I'm already sweating. I don't remember it being this bad last summer. And that's the thing- it's not even summer yet so how much worse is this going to get? The staff remains nice and friendly. There has been no update in the equipment in the last year I've attended so half of it is new and half is outdated. That being said everything works well and there is something for everyone. Even when it is busy there is always equipment or space available for you to move. I've heard other members complain about the teens hanging around. While I haven't experienced that myself yet I can only pray this doesn't turn into another PF. That's why I left that gym- because parents used it as a daycare and instead of the teens working out they just hogged equipment to yap. I'll update over the summer.

You do need to buy their socks and they do not accept identical socks from other similar attractions , but you get to re-use them at least when you visit again. They also do adult parties, which might be a lot of fun for groups looking for some adventure

Our hostesses, Ava and Raven, were nothing short of spectacular. Our entire party was well taken care of and they were SO polite! It's not often I see teens/young adults with the work ethic I witnessed from not only them, but everyone I encountered who works there. I made a point to speak with the manager, Jamie to let her know that she was doing an incredible job with her staff. If you need a child friendly event to host I highly recommend Adrenaline Monkey. We will definitely be back!!

Parents and grandparents were included in the fun and laughter. A great time for very young and slightly older children. I suspect that kids over 12 may not be as excited as our 8 and 5 year old boys were. The captain was very personable and friendly. Made every child feel special and included in the fun.
