The mussels on the first stop was good but it was shared and some people are gross. A woman I was sharing with used the fork she ate off of to pick mussels out of our shared bowl AND double dipped her bread in the mussel juice. Individual small portions would've been better especially considering I traveled alone. I chose this company because it was local, when I typically use the same one, thinking it would've been the best. I was fooled. This was my least favorite food tour of all my travels. As this was our first trip to the part of the USA we wanted to experience the South as visitors not rushed as tourists. After finding Kevin we knew we had found the right person to plan this visit based upon travel style. KEVIN EXCEEDED OUT EXPECTATIONS IN THIS REGARD. What I particularly liked was that in the planning stage Kevin provided pre-selected recommendations for Hotels, tour guides and dining. This allowed us to take the time to review his recommendations on line and select those that best fit our travel style. Although budget was not a constraint for this trip Kevin's recommendations were balanced including both private and very small group tours and fine dining plus the hidden places only a local would know for a true taste of the South. Although Kevin laid out the plan we still felt it was "our" trip because of the ability to choose among great options. Kevin plans allow for you a to customize your trip while still having the benefit of an experienced planner. Our tour guides ranged from very very good to TRULY EXCEPTIONAL. We avoided touristy places and had unique experiences that self-internet planner would unlikely ever find.One of the Kevin's strengths was sequencing the order of our tours in both Charleston and Savannah so that one experience built on the other something I could never have done on my own. Every tour guide was on time and never once did we wait to be seated in the restaurants he reserved for us. Kevin provides you with a detailed itinerary down to recommended entrée selections at the restaurants that have been reserved. I'd like to comment on Kevin in trip follow up to questions but I can't. Because of the excellence of the itinerary provided down to how early to leave for activities due to driving times, we never had any need for follow up during the two weeks of out travel. So the question boils down to due you want to have nice trip that you or an out of town travel agent planned on the internet or do you want to experience an EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOM TRAVEL EXPERIENCE. If it's the latter I can't imagine a better choice that Kevin for Charleston Beaufort and Savannah.

Very informative and loved hearing about the history and homes of Charleston. My kids were both born in North Charleston , but it's been a long journey to get back. It was really an exceptional tour and I felt completely safe and confident that these horses were treated beautifully. Do it! I didn't feel like anyone was sitting on my lap and I did like that even though they knew who lived in those crazy gorgeous homes, they did not divulge the names of their occupants., I could go again tomorrow. There are four different routes and it's by lottery which tour you go on , so you can really be a repeater!

Given the length of our stay we upgraded to the King Junior Suite and found it to be a delightful room. The INN being central to the City Market and offers quick access to shops, restaurants and historic churches. We were able to use it as a base for walking to dinner each night 5 to minutes to the cities top restaurants, and exploring the city center. When our car was needed IAAM museum or plantation visit etc it was an easy ingress and egress location. Breakfast can be brought to your room or an expanded version is available in the lobby or a cute patio adjacent. We alternated to keep things fresh. Room was very clean and surprisingly very quiet for a central city. location. Staff pleasant engaging and helpful when needed. Turn down service at night.
