Growing up in New Jersey, and frequenting down at the jersey shore, I have been playing miniature golf for a large portion of my life. This course leaves A LOT to be desired. It is not in good condition, as the "fairway" and multiple "greens" are torn up, and the "carpeting" is coming up. Also, it is almost 18 individual holes, no common theme running through everything. I will give them the positive that the pricing is OK. It was 28 buck for 4 of us to play 9 holes of golf. After wards, we did play some games inside. 20 bucks later on games, we walked out with some gummy cheeseburger candies, and a pair of fake teeth. I don't think I'll be back. read more

It's OK. I've been twice with my son. The jump castle area has 2 inflatables, there's a play area as well but it's really small. The arcade has plenty of games, & they are pricey. We haven't tried the other activities they have there. If you don't mind spending $20 to $25 for an hour of video game play, then check it out. read more

Best putt putt and video arcade location in MTP. Two putt putt courses provide a selection of different layouts. Provides good customer service and willing to be flexible on any party issues you might have or need. Food is not all that great and would recommend only getting something to drink. Several of the hole designs were very similar but there are many water obstacles. There weren't any extremely difficult holes but the greens were in good condition. Last night had an enjoyable time playing putt putt with three generations. What made this visit stand out this time was the staff. I lost a wallet and there was a good possibility that it was someplace on the course or among the games. The staff went above and beyond to help me look for it. Even staying after closing to let me finish looking. They are friendly, professional and compassionate. The place was busy, which was understandable on a Saturday night. When we went to order food, my kids wanted the main thing they have on their menu. Pizza. We were told that they weren't serving pizza tonight because they weren't sure that they had any dough ready. When the employee checked after I asked her to, miracles of miracles they did have the means. She simply didn't want to do it. And that attitude is disappointing. And then, the order was wrong. Macaroni Kid Charleston review: Blackbeards Cove was our family fun day away from the beach... The children and parents alike had a fabulous time... You walk in the door and are immediately greeted by very friendly staff and kid friendly environment!! The decor is so much fun, and the building, grounds, and bathrooms were extremely clean!! We had a blast racing the go-karts (what a race and we got our daughters to drive by themselves), put-putting on the glamours fun filled courses, climbing the rock wall (yes I climbed and wow you feel so much further off the ground than you really are), then we went over and allowed the little ones to bounce in jump land, then proceeded inside and played one of the many arcade games.. I want to give a very special THANK YOU to Blackbeards Cove for allowing my family and friends get together for a very eventful fun filled day that left the most amazing memories.... Went there with my 2 sons 7 and 9 with a birthday cake. When I went to order their extremely overpriced pizza which is not good pizza we were told we could not bring outside food in. We of course were not going to stay there without a cake and they of course would not have a way to provide a cake for us. All and all regardless of the price they could not provide what we wanted and when we took it on ourselves to make the place work while still spending lots of money with them we were asked to leave. If I could give Blackbeards no stars, I would. I traveled from Pennsylvania to Charleston to visit my daughter, son-in-law, and grandson, and we planned to spend a fun family day at Blackbeards for Mother's Day. Unfortunately, that didn't happen. It had rained earlier in the day so my daughter asked the manager whether they were going to discount miniature golf because many of the greens were wet in many places. She answered they were not, so my daughter commented, "Perhaps that's something you may want to consider in the future." The manager snidely replied, "Yeah, maybe." As my daughter was walking away, the manager turned to a coworker and began laughing. Now, where I come from, you don't laugh at your customers. The, when my son-in-law went to the counter to purchase tickets for the arcade instead, he told the manager his wife was pissed about the way she was laughing at her behind her back. The manager told him she had been very rude to her. I ask you, since when is it rude to ask a customer service person a question? Isn't answering questions part of their job? I went over to find out what was going on and the manager said she laughs when in uncomfortable situations. Wha the f*** is so uncomfortable about having to answer a question? When I asked her that, politely, I got no answer. She then said she laughs when she's in a "scary" situation! Scary? Really? She answered she was scared because my daughter was "looking" at her. Aren't you supposed to look at someone when talking to them? She finally apologized but it was only to get rid of us. My son-in-law asked for his money back and we left. What a shame she cost Blackbeard's so much money because we ended up going to Frankie's Fun Park where we spent at least $55 today, and will spend more each time they go. You can be sure we will tell all my grandson's little friends' parents how rude the manager was so Blackbeard's won't be getting their business either. I guess the woman never heard the phrase, "The customer is always right." You don't act rude to your customers. You don't laugh at your customers. You do treat your customers with respect. You do everything in your power to make sure your customers enjoy themselves so they will return and spend even more money, something that will never happen. Not a fan of these type of places even though my kids love it, but have to say that overall Blackbeards does it right. It is very clean, extremely well run and we always go during spring break. Reasonable rates and plenty of picnic tables, rockers,etc if you want to just hang out while your kids play. Kids love the mini golf and go carts. Decent but limited spot to cool off with indoor video arcade and a neat indoor climbing apparatus for the younger kids; my 3-yr-old son enjoyed this. My husband and son also enjoyed the go-carts. The price was right but as another reviewer has said, staffing was uneven; with no one supervising a group of kids roughhousing in the climbing thingy which my 3-yr-old did NOT enjoy. Though there are signs posted telling you to behave there was no enforcement. Son was too young for mini golf and he might have liked the bounce castle if it wasn't outside in the baking heat; he exited immediately. Which is the trick in August when we were there, you need to be able to keep cool and those inflatables were enjoyed by no one when we were there on a 95 degree day. And the whole point of us going there was so he could enjoy the "bouncy house". Next time... Which is to say, we would totally go back, it was fun enough. read more

I very rarely write a bad review. I first try to speak with the manager before even thinking about it. However, after the issues we had and ZERO response from the manager I guess its time to share. We had my daughters birthday party here and I was extremely disappointed. Even my daughter said it was the worst party ever, and she's 6! Due to a tropical storm rolling through a lot of kids didn't show up- I spoke with the manager and he said we would just pay for what weather permitted. In the end I had to pay for 10 kids when there were only 4, didn't get the pizza/drinks that I did pay for and we were kicked out of the room early. Total disappointment that we paid for a party that we didn't even get to enjoy. I will say that the party coordinators were fantastic. They were great with kids and very helpful. The lack of games were so overpriced it was sad. When we walked out all the kids said "PLEASE do not make us go back there!" My kids did enjoy the go-carts but that was an extra cost on top of the party. All in all I wish we would have just went back to Chuck E Cheese(and for me to say that is a miracle) read more

Blackbeards has been a favorite for a long time. The staff are great and very helpful. They have also changed and added a bunch of games and things recently. Must have sowed up with my kids on the wrong day. It wasa Saturday at 4:30 and we were asked to stand aside for a fork lift? On a Saturday afternoon? Poor planning! We then purchased go cart tickets for us and our girls. We walked out to track to be told that they were doing some filming and it would be about an hour before we could ride?! Why were we not told this in advance? Got our money back only to be tainted by the fork lift crew when we left. Started to call police because one kid used vulgar language. Good luck! read more

This place sucks. It should have an age limit on there on 5. I took my kids there today for a small party not scheduled thank goodness. We werent even there a hour. My 9 year old and her friend had nothing to do there but play putt putt. They did do the mining if that is what they call it. You dump sand in a basket end of story. Half the games on the inside were broken. By the way you have to pay to play inside as well. I bought a $20.00 pass for each of the kids. (This is the mutiny pass that is good for 2 hours and only 4 attractions. The sign on this is very misleading.) My son and his friend did get to ride to go carts 4 times only for this price. When I approached the manager onmy visit he was very young and unexperienced all he just kept saying "I dont know what to say". My kids had been looking forward to coming to visit this place for a long time. All I can say is a waste of time and money. I shall never return or recommend to anyone. read more
