I like hitting up thrift stores to find some vintage/mcm items. The place is a bit messy. Prices were a bit high and the check out line was long with just one cashier. I did take my time and found a few things but a plate for 2.99 is steep. They do have discounts on certain color tags so if you're lucky you might get 25%, 50%, or 75% off. I did find a vintage glass dish and it was 75% off but I couldn't take it on the plane with me back home. Found some other things but the marked prices was not worth it for a thrift store. I did score some bowls with the 25% off but that was it. Eventually they did have another register open up and she was very friendly and sweet. read more

I had a problem with a jacket that they no longer carry and he went over and beyond to solve the problem and keep me happy. Charleston Outlet thrift store is just a shadow of its former glorious self. 20 years ago this place was the best thrift store in Las Vegas but sadly in 2024 it's pitiful and unrecognizable. Charleston Outlet is not even close to what it used to be in terms of selection and value and here are all the reasons why. All the sizes are mixed in together so you have to sift through every single item to try to find your size. They've also done away with the fitting rooms which is a total bummer if you want to try clothes on before you buy. And some of the prices didn't make any sense at all. A used black forever 21 light weight puffer jacket selling for $14.99 when it costs $19.99 new. Ridiculous. Then a very expensive pair of jeans that could've been priced for $20-25 selling for $7. Overall the store was very disorganized and a pain to browse through. I think this was my very time walking out of a thrift store empty handed. In all my years shopping at Charleston outlet never have I been more disgusted today. Purchased items adding to $22.34 and gave them cash $22.34 exactly she said no it's $22.35 no it's $22.34. We don't accept pennie's any longer we charge up i.e if it is 32 cents we'd charge $.30. YET, I gave the exact change and she said that it's still $22.35 and I said NO register says $22.34 and I gave you the exact change. Went round and round with this woman until I demanded the manager. He proceeds to say we don't accept pennies... unbelievable that's total bullshit. in all the argument I'm certain she's going to be $22 over. I was just done with the BS. Update . I went in as a customer haven't been here since I've worked here . The prices are through the roof crazy for it being a thrift store . I bought an items from the glass container (electronics) turns out it won't work and the worst part is they don't accept return or exchange policy. As i was checking out i had an items that had no price and i was told i could not buy it till the next day because it needed a price tag . It was very disappointing not being able to buy it especially since it was on the shelf's . I saw old worn out shoes for the price of a new one . The Charleston Outlet itself as a business is commendable. The idea of helping the community out by collecting and selling donations at reasonable prices is a blessing. They work closely with the Vietnam Veterans. Awesome! However. Upon having worked there and resigning after coming across a better paying opportunity ended up a nightmare. Their General Manager Amelia (Hispanic lady who speaks with a European accent. Long black hair and white roots) I was rehired after having left on a rehireable status. I put my two weeks in and left in good terms. Came back. Had some personal issues I was dealing with and she ended up letting me go. 2 weeks have passed and I have yet to receive my final pay because she hired me WITHOUT a current Drivers license. (Kept my old) and didnt ask me for a copy of my Social. Iam behinf aon my car note and nor corporate, or Wisely (paycard company) have showed understanding or compassion toward my sistuation. All they tell me is send me your new documents and once your identity is proven you will get your money. I lost pay card, whoch os how this issue started, found it after I lost wallet and became the ugliest, most triggering situation. Funny how when you have an emergency people judge you based on how you look and push you deeper into the ground instead of caring about you and appreciating what you have done to help grow their business! I don't normally leave reviews, but I don't want anyone else to have to go through the stress and aggressive cleaning I just experienced. I bought a fur vest at this store and it had bugs! I'm not saying don't shop here, but just be careful! And inspect your clothes more than I did in this circumstance. I got home and realized the vest had carpet beetles! I'm not sure how I missed it in the store because I thought I had looked through it, but apparently I didn't do so thoroughly enough. I went early on a weekday when I expected it to be less crowded. It was still crowded. The bad: The moment I walked in, my throat closed up and I started coughing due to all the dust. Which probably looked bad due to all the Covid. The housewares/clutter section is an absolute mess. The aisles are thin but that didn't stop the moms from barging through with thier strollers and carts. Only one cashier was working and the line was super long. The good: Prices are cheap. They keep it cheap unlike Savers a block away who raised the prices. This place is an actual thrift store with thrift store prices. I walked out with a bag full of nice tops and a pair of jeans for $17 I did buy a CHI flat iron a few years ago for $9, it's still working to this day. It's on the seedy part of Charleston, and bags are locked up while you browse and there's a turnstile entrance. Electronics section is from the 90s, and is behind a locked gate. I'll let you draw your own conclusions. Selection reminds me of a garage sale, most of stock is dated. They do have a counter area with jewelry and collectibles. Street parking and lot available. Lots of signage about how items with "tampered tags" won't be sold. My dislike for this place is more related to their uncomfortably over-the-top preventative measures than their stock. read more

this place re-opened recently. The whole place is a mess. everything is cluttered, Over priced-used clothes. Employees are rude and very unprofessional including the Hispanic "Manager" that is Also not properly trained. I went Oct 20,2022 and a young lady was looking at the bracelets. as she was getting ready to pay with her card, the employee asked her for her IDENTIFICATION TO PAY USING HER DEBIT CARD that requires a PIN, as she was trying to explain its a replacement and that's what the bank gave her as a temp card. she told the buying customer she CANT SELL HER THE ITEMS BECAUSE, the card was not under her name. because of fraud, at the thrift store? young lady then ask for a manager because getting asked for identification using a debit card is not normal. The hispanic Manager than comes and explains that its a new policy, to ask for Identification for DEBIT CARD USERS, Absurd right? neither did the untrained Cashier, or Manager bothered to ask her if she had another form of payment. instead the manager took it upon herself and take the items she was trying to pay and told her to have a nice day. the customer than proceeds to explain to the manager that just because that particular card didn't have her name on it, that was an actual moment you use you managing skills to train your employee ABOUT USING OTHER FORM OF PAYMENTS! Like cash. or another card with her name on it. and the customer indeed did have another form of payment, Policies Also have to be written there was no policy that mentioned anything about requiring ID for debit card users! neither on receipt or around the store Moments later another cashier rang me up as i used my debit card and no ID was required. if anybody in that store that needed training was the manager herself for not being able to manage, to come up with a solution. and not providing Good Customer Service. to people that actually attempting to go in spend money the whole store needs to better organize and properly train All employees equally. read more

Found some new tote bags from Victoria Secrets for $4. Other reviews I read before going were not favorable - but I went any way! You might have to dig your way thru the many items- but isn't that the joy of bargin hunting? Small appliances (blenders, toasters, microwave ovens, hair styling tools) are $3 to $20. In excellent working condition. Clothing is clean, you dont have to use a bottle of Spay & Wash to get spots out! Small toys/children's selection. But what they have is organized. OMG! I loved this store (but I'm definitely biased since I found my new favorite purse there. lol) Here are the facts... PRO - They have an awesome collection of "stuff" behind a glass counter. This is all the really cool stuff. I bought an authentic LV white leather purse in very good condition for $50 CON - No Dressing Rooms and it's pretty small PRO - Staff is very friendly. Me and two other ladies had the poor lady behind the "secret glass counter" running back and forth letting us look at all the awesome stuff she had back there and she never once got snappy (even when we wouldn't end up taking any of the items she brought out for us). After three bunk yard sales and attempting to go to a super-crowded Estate Sale in our neighborhood (most items were priced at $1- this was on the local news, so I should've known, right?), we went here on a whim on saturday morning. My husband calls this place "stuck in time- like the one Napoleon Dynamite shopped in." Yes, it still looks the same, there is that same turnstile in the front, the posted signs for the store policies, up at the front, the clothing categories, boutique section, electronics, and other housewares are still located in the same exact places. You must purchase boutique items are the boutique register- this lady was super busy with customers inquiring to see certain items (health & beauty, jewelry, accessories, and higher priced items like handbags- saw Coach). Yes, it is small, and yes, the parking lot is small, and then you follow the signs to the street side parking, haha, how funny. It's packed with shoppers, though. All Sales Final. The downside is there is no dressing room. The upside is my husband found some Speedo swim gloves (improves your stroke strength) for me priced at $4.99 (mine broke recently and I hadn't gone to the sporting goods store). This new package was from Big 5 and originally marked $19.99. What a steal! This was such a find, that I might make this a regular stop every month. read more

All the fake Burberry and Louis Vuitton so sad all the people paying 100 dollars for a knockoff backpack. And 15 dollars for a used pair of Levi's you can go to Kohl's and get them BRAND new for 20 bucks... And for the girl who chased me out of the store and accused me of stealing the jacket I walked in there with. What I like: -they slash the prices after every week until someone buys it. -extra parking lot so you don't have to park on the street -there's a 99 cents rack for certain items What I don't like: -clothing isn't separate by size. It takes me forever to look through a rack of clothes due to this. -no dressing room -they have 1 tiny mirror in the store I like coming here when I want to pass time, but I usually don't find much in my size or to my preference. I was so excited being able to shop here. I loaded my cart up with over $200 in items. The last item to ring up was a curling iron. It did not have a price. She says sorry I can't give this to you store policy. I said hold on I think there is another one up there. I went back and there was but no price. She said sorry I can't give to you. I said can I speak to a manager I am spending over $200 you can at least try to price it. The lady (blonde hair and had an accent) came over and said NO I'm not giving to you. The prices are ridiculously higher then usual here. For beat up old high heels I see $9-10 prices on them. Customer Service has left me thinking who hires and trains the people here. I had to put a chubby cashier in her place when she claimed I had an unpaid item in my purse, so like b*tch I dumped the whole back right in front of her right on the counter in 2.5 seconds, others were in line and looked at her like the thot she was called out to be when nothing was in my purse. This store has got bargains if you want to be diligent and come everyday to see any new stock. Most things are priced too high to move so you get a lot of stale stock. Very little room for furniture and their no return policy makes it even less of a deal if you buy a dud so make sure it works or is not broken beyond repair. Is nearly always crowded and if you do not speak Spanish you may have to wait longer for service. The Goodwill is my store of choice and the proceeds go to the community. read more
