Waste of time. Their employee, TAYLOR, is unprofessional and unorganized. (If she responds to your inquiry, get someone else!!) She asked me what I wanted in a community and sent me a list of complexes where 98% of them were not what I asked for. After telling her I wasn't interested in visiting any of the properties she sent me, I asked her if she had any other suggestions that matched the specifications/questionnaire she asked me to complete--anyone can do a zipcode search and find apartments based on price range--she disappeared. Also, she kept asking me the same questions over and over again. Does she have a memory problem??? I'm not sure, but this seems like a useless service...or maybe I just had a useless employee. I got the impression she wanted a referral fee for very little effort on her part. FYI, I contacted this group because I thought they had special deals with complexes and/or insight into hard-to-find units. Apparently, all they do is the same thing anyone can do with a computer, internet access, and fingers that can type a-p-a-r-t-m-e-n-t-s-.-c-o-m into a URL bar. Such a disappointment! read more

I got a job to teach in Atlanta and quickly set about securing housing (before I lost out to the onslaught of incoming students). I'd lived in many major cities, but never Atlanta, so I needed a little help. As people have noted, the Charlesworth Realty Group dominates craigslist-- however I found this a godsend, I (incorrectly) assumed that they were a broker, which is fine, I needed insight into the city. Heather immediately called me the day after my initial inquiry, running down the areas of town and types of apartments I was interested in. Within the hour she came back with a list of 20 places. I would say a good six of them were a perfect fit with my interests. My only nervousness came when as my date approached for flying into town-- I had only given myself 72 hours to find a place--I kept getting emails that seemed not to know when I was coming or what areas I was looking at. They explained the referral request--I then ascertained they weren't a broker--and were probably inundated with people such as myself. Heather told me that most apartment complexes don't take (or need) appointments if seeing the property during the week. This flew in the face of everything steeled into me from years of living in NYC and LA, but she knew Atlanta, so I took her at her word. I needn't have worried. She was completely correct and I got in to see all of the places on my list. I ended up with one of the first she'd recommended for me-- and I couldn't be happier. This is a good company if you are looking for a city apartment on the higher-end and are within 4-6 weeks of moving. Maybe not for everyone, but if you are moving from out of town, they put your mind at ease and make the process as pain-free as possible. We were apartment hunting and didn't know the area well. I messaged Heather and she was quick to respond. She asked great questions to try to figure out which neighborhood we'd be happy in. She recommended several buildings and told us about their current deals so we had all of the info before we walked into a building. There's no fee for the service since complexes are eager for the referrals and pay the finder fee. Great service and very knowledgeable. read more

I found out that this company monitors Craig's List and offers people searching for a place to live recommendations on where to apply. The positive: they can help steer you away from scams; the negative, you can negotiate a better deal without the commisiom going to the agent. I found a brand new apt community on craigslist and contacted what I thought was the main phone number for Charlesworth. In response I started receiving texts from a girl named Taylor. I mentioned that I'm a flight attendant, just moved back to town and needed help finding a studio with a balcony. I said that I'd already put money down on an apt in midtown that was extremely nice, but without a balcony. I explained that I was open to look at other places but really did like the community I'd already found. First. She started asking me a lot of questions about being a flight attendant. I didn't mind initially because that happens a lot- that people from other industries want to know what its like and how to get in. So I said that we are hiring, I can help..and gave her website info to get started. She came back with a haughty response that she would never leave her job to do that etc etc..(so I'm thinking, well why so many questions about it?). I dropped it, but then she started asking how much money I make, maybe she will consider it. I was confused and changed the subject. In a week or so she emailed me information of various properties around Atlanta. I wasn't sure how they worked but explained that I did not want to move for several months, as I'd just done a cross country move and needed time to save. I said, "if you can help great, but if not I understand". (I figured it was commissioned based) She stated that she could still help so I told her the 3 properties I was interested in. She told me to "put her name down, whichever place I choose - even if it is Elan" (Elan is the original apt community I already had money down on, that she did NOT help me find). I've used locator services and agents in the past, that were able to get me a cheaper rate for an apartment (than if I had called to ask about the apt myself). So I asked if she could get me a lower rate on a larger bedroom unit at Elan. I know that giving her name as a referral would result in her getting a payment. She never emailed me back, or responded....Then I'd been working for a couple weeks, just home from London..so I checked my messages and heard a call from her. I wasn't sure when she'd left the message, but she was asking what happened and if I decided to go with Elan. I returned her call...she sounded really annoyed (she seemed to forget that she had called ME) but I said I was undecided on the other places...I asked again if she might be able to get me a lower rate on a larger unit at Elan. I said I still have the smaller unit being held, but would love a balcony. I thought, why not ask? If I was using her name as a referral, that would get her money- so it couldn't hurt to see if she could help me out since she didn't actually locate this property for me. Her response to me was so rude. She said, "I don't know how you expect me to do that" bla bla bla...I ended the call quickly. I messaged back to explain, that I've used services before that were able to get me a lower rate...and just because she couldn't do it was no reason to speak to me the way she did. I guess I asked for it, because she proceeded to BLOW my phone up with text messages...denying my claim that she was rude etc etc. In all, just really childish and unprofessional. I don't know how the other representatives at Charlesworth operate...but maybe you want to deal with someone other than this Taylor person. I had the pleasure of working with Heather. I was in panic mode I had just accepted a position in Atlanta and needed to move in less than two weeks. We were referred to Heather Fremin with Charlesworth to assist us in our search for a new place in the Downtown Atlanta area. I cannot tell you how awesome it was working with her. Our time line to find a place was short and stressful..However, Heather made the overwhelming task of apartment/condo hunting in ATL an absolute breeze. She provided us with a customized list of properties based on our personal preferences. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the area properties and able to answer every question we asked. After getting an idea about what we were looking for she narrowed down the search to a very manageable list. She was available to us by phone anytime (which I thought was extra amazing). I contacted Charlesworth because they dominate Craigslist postings. You have to contact them and give them all your info in order to see what complexes they are listing. I was exhausted from my own search so I gave it a shot. At first they seemed helpful though lagging in response time. They provided a list of rental property options, more than half of which didn't really fit my specifications mainly due to price. After narrowing the list I didn't hear back from my "agent" for several days. Then he called asking when I wanted to setup viewings without addressing any of my emails or questions. Also, in the beginning, I asked for options in 2 areas of town. I only received options for 1 area. I never received the 2nd area despite requesting it a couple times. Good luck to those who use the service. If you experience the same problem, I suggest using their list and doing your own research. read more

Danna did an amazing job finding an apartment for me. I told her everything I was looking for and she called around and found every I was searching for. She always followed up with me to see what I liked and didn't like about the places I visited. She took the time to research what is cheaper when it comes to signing a lease. For example I was looking for a 6 month lease but one complex the rent went down $200 per month by signing a 7 month lease. Excellent! read more

I contacted Charlesworth Realty Group for some of the rental properties that they are constantly advertising on Craigslist and other websites. It took days for someone to finally call me back, and that was due to me calling and sending a "please respond" email. Once I was directed to a agent to help me with my search... he advised me that he would be able to help and would send over a list of properties for me to look at and for me to pick my top 3 for us to schedule appointments to view. Needless to say, he never sent the profiles over to me. Once I called and left him a few messages and sent him a few emails he finally returned my call and said that he was handing me over to another agent to work with me. UGH! Are you kidding me?? The "new" agent finally reached out to me only to ask me for money to help get started on my new home search. WTF?? Why do I have to pay for a service that you have advertised as FREE??? Needless to say, I DO NOT recommend them to ANYONE!! Horrible customer service that doesn't know how to return calls and emails and lies about being a free service. read more

In the process of trying to find a new place to live and Craigslist is COVERED with ads from this company. I'm starting to think they are a scam. Someone contacted me days later after I reached out to them and told me she works on commission and would send me a list of places to look at. From there she'll call and find out what is available. Been a week since I did that and heard nothing. I'm wondering where they stole all of the stock photos from to post? read more
