Thet do not pay attention when ordering, they make ordering confusing. The do not even know what steak fries are, the lady even said yes when I asked her steak fries please, what did i get? regular fries topped with steak and cheese. when ordering a sandwich I always ask for a plain steak with cheese, but know i am asked do i want cheese on that? and onions? The staff is really kind and polite. They do accept tips which is a plus in my book :) their sandwiches are really good definitely a runner up to cheesesteak shop, I'd say they're a really close 2nd. It's ok at best. The cheese steak is unseasoned.. the guy at the register was helpful. I ordered the bacon cheese fries as a upsell. It came with hardly any cheese on it I asked the lady if she could put a little more on it was told it was going to cost more. Well I ate dry dry fries for a 1.50 more. This place is in a somewhat large shopping center. Parking is a hit or miss but not too bad. This place has been there for a while but this was my first time. The place is a little small so big groups won't work here. The bathroom was ok but a little dirty I only think it's because customers from the ice cream shop come here. The sandwich was pretty good. The fries were the best nothing like those skinny fries you get at fast food restaurants. Their lemonade was also pretty good. Definitely worth trying if you want a heavy meal. read more

The Philly Cheesesteak was good, while the Chicken Teriyaki was less amazing. They have "Gourmet Fries" which looked interesting for the next visit, but we only shared one order of plain ol' fries. Ordered online through their website for 5:45. New I would be 15 mins early, so I called phone number just to see if I could move the pick up time a bit. Female on phone said sure, confirmed the new time and name on order. Get there and they say, there's no online order at all and that the phone has not rang!!!?? Had my boyfriend show screenshots of call log and order confirmation (and our bank has been charged). Order doesn't exist still, offers to make the order, but to cancel my online order... Which I can't on the site. Been here many times, food is great, they are trying to "figure it out". Usually I go to the Cheesesteak place on Century Blvd but yesterday I was in the area. My boyfriend and I had some coupons so we decided to stop in and try to use them. The issue here at this store is customer service. We walked in to an empty store and began looking at the menu because we had never been. The guy, who I'm assuming to be the manager, asked if we were ready and we asked for a few minutes to over look the menu and decide what we wanted. He didn't greet us with any type of a hello or even a smile, he just looked miserable. We even let the one person who came in after us go before so he wouldn't be waiting long. I observed his demeanor and it seemed like he was in a rush for some reason. He quickly took the guys order and then proceeded to try and rush us. mind you, it had only been about less than 5 minutes from the time we walked in. When we had finally made up our mind about what we wanted we asked if it was possible to use both coupons we had in two separate transactions because we're probably not gonna be in the area again. At first he said yes. Then quickly changed his mind when a couple and a family of 4 walked in as we were about to order. He went from saying "yes, no problem" to "the coupons have specific instructions that say one per family so you can't use both." That immediately annoyed us because it's not a huge inconvenience, we're bringing them business, and the guy was being rude. We ordered anyway because at least we got to use one coupon and then we sat down and waited for our food. When our food was done, he called out a number and everyone in the restaurant at the time was confused as to who's order he was calling. He made eye contact with me and pointed saying, "this is yours." Funny, he never gave us an order number. I told my boyfriend to give the unused coupon to someone and let them use it because we're hardly in the area to use it and we definitely weren't coming back because of how rude the manager was. When another person walked in we politely said to them that we weren't going to be using the left over coupon and offered it to him. He was happy about it and said thank you but because the manager saw us give it to him, knowing we weren't going to be using it, he refused to let the guy use it as well. I started observing him more and realized that his annoyed and impatient demeanor was brought on by him trying to leave. When we got there, it was the manager and a girl making the food there. Between the time we got our food and the time we left, two male employees arrived and as soon as they showed up, the managers demeanor got even more impatient. All because he wanted to leave. The entire staff looked extremely miserable, they're not even welcoming at all, and I think it's safe to say that it's because the manager is miserable. read more

I'm wondering if the ownership changed in the last few years? My family eats here every now and then for the past 9 years. We love the sandwiches and the service has always been descent. Our experience last night was terrible in regards to service. A coupon for a free drink/fries with the order of a large sub was left on my car at Winco in the morning so I thought it would be a good idea for my family of four to eat there for dinner. That means the marketing worked, right? Well the cashier is not a good cashier and didn't understand the coupon. A coworker helped him apply it. Then he only gave me three cups. He and I went back and forth about it and I'm like I'm ordering four meals for four people so we each need a cup, fries and a sandwich and one cup/fries is FREE. He ended up giving me the cup. But guess what, we were short an order of fries when the order was ready. So I told the other guy cooking the food and he argues with me saying the screen only said 3 fries. Well maybe because your coupon subtracts the price for the free one. I don't know or care about the damn screen. I care about my order. And I shouldn't have to argue with this rude man. It's generally bad practice to argue with the customer! Especially when the customer was using the coupon YOU put on my car that same day!!!!! My husband just said forget it...we won't be back...he had a feeling the cashier was clueless from the beginning. There are only a couple of places I've ever been where there's such an awesome owner. Seriously this place has the best customer service, and it's really not to be expected from a franchise type restaurant. I went in on a Thursday at 830 while my wife was putting my son to bed. The sign on the door says they are only open until 8, I'm not the kind of person to just expect service if a place is near closing or in this case, closed. So I walk away and try to figure out where to go now. The owner runs out and says hey we're still open. He said they were too busy to close. Really? That's crazy awesome. I haven't been here in at least 6 months but the service is amazing. Whoever this guy is, is amazing. Not sure why there are some low scores. The food has always been amazing and fast. The customer service was terrible, 2 of the employees, Ike and Ogechi, were rude. Luie was nice though! When asked why we did not get a drink for our second meal, Ike rudely implied that we did not pay for a drink. When I looked at the receipt I realized it was because we weren't rung up correctly by Ogechi, when I asked for the same exact combo meal I had ordered first. So I sat down and started eating a bit with the intention of re-bagging it up and taking it to go. Then, one of the employee's from behind the counter rudely asked me if I was going to use the bag since I took my food out and started to eat. Seemed like he was having a bad day and already had an attitude going on. He said he wanted to save as many bags as possible, and since I was eating in and not to-go he wanted the bag back. I decided to stop by Charley's on a whim. I'd seen this place about a million times when taking the kiddo to John's next door but for some reason never really thought to go in. I was out and about with the kiddo, doing errands when I realized we hadn't had lunch. We happened by Charley's which advertised "Kids Eat Free on Monday and Tuesday" which, hey, was good enough for me. I'm not sure what I was expecting with "grilled subs" but it seems that they mostly do grilled steak type sandwiches but also have grilled chicken and deli meat sandwiches too. I happen to love a good Philly-style cheese steak so I was good to go. I ended up ordering a deluxe which had cheese, peppers, onions and shrooms on the steak sandwich plus fries and a drink.The kiddo's free meal consisted of chicken fingers, fries, drink and an Oreo cookie. I'm really perplexed at the folks that said that the steaks they had were tasteless. I was very pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the meat. They use USDA choice and it wasn't greasy at all. I know, for some folks, the fun of a Philly style cheese steak is the grease but gotta try to be healthy sometime, right? While I'd bet money that the cheese steaks over at the Cheesesteak shop are actually closer to authentic, I found Charley's to be tasty without the need of extra hot sauce. The fries were also a pleasant surprise. They were hot out of the fryer and had the perfect ratio of crispy outside to mealy inside. Loved those fries! You can also get the fries with cheddar, ranch, bacon... or all of the above. The kiddo's chicken tenders were well received. But if you were to ask her, the best part of her meal was the Oreo. (She's two. She doesn't have many expectations from her meals.) We also both liked the lemonade. There's just something awesome about the lemonade waterfall dispensing device. Nommage. When we went in, the service was perfectly friendly. No issues there. Condiments and what not are located pretty much where you pick up your sandwich and when I was there, everything was filled and orderly. Thanks to the kids eat free promo, the kiddo and I had a fantastic lunch for less than $10. Can't beat that! We'll definitely be putting this into our lunch rotation for the beginning of the week. I spent 30 minutes waiting for a sandwich made with the wrong ingredients to what I ordered- Then the Manager proceeded to tell me it was essentially my fault that I came in when they were busy and had alot of orders ahead of me. I was a little hungry after I left Best Buy "next door" and decided to give Charley's a try. I wasn't in the mood for a Philly cheese steak, which seems to be their specialty, so I decided to try the steak sandwich and fries "special" for $4.98. The steak was pretty bland and had to add some hot sauce to give it flavor. The thick unpeeled fries were ok, but were soft and flabby. My expectations weren't too high to begin with but Charley's didn't meet them. The food wasn't awful, but I've definitely experienced better and I don't think I'd go back. If I do, I'll try the Philly steak sandwich instead to see if it's any better. read more

My husband and I went there for lunch today. I got the traditional Philly Cheesesteak with cheese, onions, green peppers. I asked for no mushrooms, mayo, lettuce and tomato. My husband got the BBQ Cheddar Philly with no tomato and no lettuce. We also got fries and two drinks for a total of $18. The cashier was very nice and efficient. The wait was short, maybe 10 minutes. The food came out hot and our orders were correct. We both loved the BBQ Cheddar. The original Philly was good, but just didn't have enough flavor in comparison to the BBQ! All in all it was very good and worth the amount of $$. We would go back again. read more
