Y'all, this place is so slept on. Super overlooked and it shouldn't be. When I ask people if they've tried it, they're like nope, where is it? It's on LoneTree in Antioch right next to Popeyes and the Vegan store, same shopping center as City Sports gym. Food is AMAZING, tons of options from sandwiches, burgers, salads and so much more. The Ambiance is quiet and set up nicely. You can see the flat top as the chef cooks and watch catch a game in their GIANT flat screen. Plenty of seating and in the 30 minutes we were there, there must had been like 20-30 people in and out picking up food and few that stayed to eat. This is my third time here and I will be back. So while searching on Yelp for a burger spot we found HD Burger and saw it had great reviews. The staff was really nice. The inside was really nice and welcoming. I see they have a big outdoor space that would be nice on the warmer days. The menu is huge! So many different options. We got the pastrami burger which was very flavorful and a good size. We also got the shrimp po boy which was also very good and a nice size. The garlic fries were also perfect with the fries being crispy and the garlic and Parmesan topping it off! The only complaint I do have is the portion I got for the onion rings. We literally got like 8 of them for 6.99 I didn't see any meal deals so you have to order the sides separate. The burger was $13.99. Best burger in the far eastern of Bay Area! I've been to HD Burger for at least 3 times now and each time I go, I always leave satisfied and impressed! First, the customer service is accommodating and very friendly, so keep it up! Then the burgers are amazing! I've tried both the mushroom and Black and Blue burgers with eggs and they are juicy and flavorful! The patties are generous and the meat is cooked medium in perfection and consistent! I haven't tried any other burgers in the area, but I have in the East Bay. Besides George's Burger in WC, I have to say this is the best burger joint Ive ever experienced! I've been here a number of times but it has been quite a while. I wanted a burger and Sis reminded me of this spot. OMG, I am so glad we dined here today. Service is always pleasant and you do not wait long for your food which always comes out hot. Sis got the mushroom burger with the sidewinder fries that she shared with me and I got the black and blue burger and substituted the meat for a beyond patty and instead of the bacon, I got mushrooms. The burger was absolutely amazing. It comes with a garlic aïoli I think should be slathered all over the burger but, that's because it's so good and I'm so greedy! They also have large, nice looking salads but I don't come for those, lol. I will definitely be back and you should try it also, HD has great food+ great service + great prices. The downside of this was that it was almost $8 for only about 6-8 onion rings, which I feel like is very overpriced. The overall food was good, but if you're looking for an affordable meal, this place isn't it. I paid for 2 people, my fiancé & I, and just the 2 meals went up to $50 for an average serving. We also found it weird that not even French fries come with the burgers or sandwiches; all the sides were extra, which is widely uncommon. I've been to this location a few times over the years and each time has been a different experience. Sometimes the food is cooked perfectly and other times it's not great. The last time I came here was a true disappointment. I ordered the HD burger with Parmesan garlic fries. The last time I had this combination it was pretty good! I like that they cook your food to order, and everything is fresh. However, when I got my burger it was a soggy greasy mess. The worst part was the bacon - it lacked flavor and was just dripping with grease. Normally you'd want the bacon to be at least a little crispy but that wasn't the case. It was flaccid and tasted similar to the bacon at Subway. Not the quality I'd expect considering how pricey this place is. I spent nearly $40 for two bacon burgers (without cheese) and a side of fries. The aioli on the fries tastes like mayo and doesn't really contribute anything to the experience. The fries themselves are pretty tasty and I enjoyed the generous portions of garlic on them. The inconsistency of this place is annoying. The last time I ordered a hamburger here it was cooked medium well, which gave it that nice juicy flavor. This time, it was cooked well done so it was flavorless. And this isn't the first time I've had an inconsistent experience here. In fact, I stopped going here for several years for this very reason. Inside the restaurant it is HOT and stuffy. They are running shop fans to alleviate some of the heat but hopefully they can get their air conditioning repaired soon. Nobody wants to eat inside a hot restaurant. Not to worry, however, as they have plenty of covered outdoor seating. I feel for the high prices they charge, they should focus on outputting consistent quality and using the best ingredients. Look to Fat Maddie's in Danville as an example of how to accomplish that. Unfortunately, this last meal was a greasy mess that left me with heartburn and feeling icky for an entire night and day. Needless to say, I'll take another long break from this place. Yesterday was a one star experience but I've had other times that were 4-5 stars - hence the three star rating. I went to HD burger and my experience was ok. I haven't been there since they initially opened and wanted to try out again. I had a Chicken Pesto sandwich. The flavor of the pesto was actually good. However, the chicken was over cooked and it was rubbery. Not my type of "grill chicken". Maybe if they had someone else cook the chicken it might be better. I also, compared it to the sandwich they sell at Costco. If I had to choose I would have gotten that one instead. I also got the garlic fries not worth the price for a small amount fries. When I asked for ranch the owner gave me the smallest side of ranch I have ever gotten. Fries were 6.99 Sandwich was 13+ I don't think that was worth the price for the flavor. I think I would prefer the Costco sandwich and get some curly fries from Jack in the box. Owner I know you're not a chef, I think it would benefit you to hire a real chef instead of untrained cooks. I got the Lamb burger and he got the Chicken Pesto sandwich. I honestly love the Lamb burger and it hits every single time and I gotta have the garlic fries. Nothing about this burger fails for me and I could honestly eat this damn burger every single day.
