Beef Stroganoff (sour cream on the side)
Chris P.

We've been here several times, and even hosted a baby shower here. It's always consistently decent in terms of food and service. The decor reminds me of an upscale sports bar. (Although the back room for events and busy nights is just upscale/nice/white table cloths, etc) This most recent visit did not disappoint. My wife enjoyed the steak frites and my daughter and I were partial to the beef stroganoff from their "winter menu". My mother-in-law got the pear salad and was surprised it only had 4 slices of pear and came with dressing on, when she'd requested it on the side. Ultimately she liked it though. We will be back as it's one of the nicer restaurants in the area.

Update: Zephyr Grill & Bar is an excellent restaurant to dine at. The service is good and they have a nice selection of fine Wines. There is a nice selection of foods on their menu. I ordered fried calamari for appetizer. The calamari was fried perfectly. It has a light crisp and was tender. It was delicious with either the buttermilk or cocktail sauce. The service was good. Our server was friendly and helpful. Chicken Marsala - 4/5 (not pictured) The chicken Marsala was good. The mushroom Marsala sauce was good, but could be much more better if the Marsala wine flavor was more robust. The flavor was a little light for my taste, and compared to the other Italian restaurants that I have ordered this same dish from. The a seasonal veggies were cooked perfectly. Zepher is a nice fine dining restaurant in Brentwood. I recommend giving Zepher's a try. Make reservations first.

Rib Eye steak cooked in perfection

This is our second time here. One was during birthday celebration party of 10. This time it is smaller for Christmas eve dinner. This place always in my expectations, great food, great service, great ambiance!! Five of us ordered Rib Eye steaks! It is so tender and so good! We ordered desserts and we were happy! May be some pies from local bakeshop would be nice like apple pie a la mode with ice cream on top, blue berry pie, tiramisu etc. More selection for dessert would be great. We will be back. Thank you

Celebrated and treated my dad here at Zephyr Grill & Bar on Father's Day. This place is huge, occupying most of McCauley Plaza. Dining areas look chic and upscale. I had their New York strip steak, Dad had a Ribeye, kids had a burger and Ribs, and my wife and mom had fish. We also had Calamari, Clam Chowder, and Cesar Salad for appetizers. Appetizers: 3/5. It was mostly okay. Clam Chowder was mediocre, the salad was alright (although whole lettuce was a nice touch), But the calamari was very good. Main Course: 4/5. Good, trumps most of the chain steakhouses here in Brentwood. They source their meats form Harris Ranch which explains why. Our New York had that rich beefy flavor which was wonderful. I wish it was a little thicker though, definitely less than and inch. Regardless, it was cooked on point. One con I would point out though, was the dining area was a bit warm, and it was not a scorcher outside. Other than that, I am glad I spent our Father's Day here at Zephyr Grill.

Mediterranean Pesto Pasta
Ciara B.

Went here and got the vegan pasta dish, the Mediterranean Pesto Pasta. It was made with coconut milk and pesto. I found the coconut milk taste to be very overwhelming and the pesto to be nearly nonexistent. It was also slightly orange in color, which I thought was confusing. Other members of the group seemed to enjoy their dishes, but I was unfortunately disappointed. I'm sure they have other great things on the menu, and the decor was very festively themed.

We went here after Mulberry picking. We were tired and hungry for non-sweet/savory food after all that mulberry picking (IYKYK) This place was perfect for a chill lunch/brunch. We had an omelet with veggies, a chicken sandwich, Shrimp Pasta and Tuna appetizer. Food was good. The portion size was good too. Staff was very friendly and service was quick. Loved the ambiance and overall vibes.

!!!ROCK THE BOAT!!! Happy Hour FUN FUN FUN lively atmosphere bar was crowded with lots of happy go'ers. The bar atmosphere is a party going strong. Lots of laughing, conversations happening and plenty of drinking going on. We stopped by for the food and the amazing view of San Joaquin River. I always request to be seated near a window. I enjoy watching the cargo ships, barges and freighters floating by transporting all the colorful shipping containers. Zephyr (da bar) is inside of Smiths Landing although they market Smith's Landjng as a seafood grill. The menu is limited on good seafood options. My favorite dish is their fish and chips always fresh and crispy with a side of seasoned fries. While you wait for your food to be brought out they serve this complimentary super fresh bread slices with 3 different flavors butter. The bread is a joy by itself. Don't miss out on this fun, fun, fun place !! It's beautiful inside it's like walking on a ship deck. Banquet Room Plenty of space in the bar Good drinks Good food Plenty of parking

Zephyr Grill & Bar is one of my favorite spots! The pasta is always flavorful and comforting, the steaks are perfectly cooked every time, and the appetizers come in generous portions -- perfect for sharing. Their cocktails are delicious too, well-balanced, and creative. The cozy atmosphere and very helpful staff makes it an easy place to relax and enjoy a great meal with friends or family. Great food, great drinks, and warm vibes -- what more could you ask for?

Food - 2 out of 5 Ambience - 3 out of 5 Service - 4 out of 5 Cleanliness- 2.5 out of 5 Price - 2.5 out of 5 happy hour was good everything else is to expensive for the quality you get Really a 2.5 and only rounding this for the service, one good dish, and complimentary bread Nice restaurant but there was a lot that could be improved. We were sat in the back with nice tables bur there was an obvious prep area that wasn't cleaned so it felt like a messy kitchen beside us. The menu and happy hour had good choices. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. It started nice with complimentary warm bread*salted and 3 options of butter. We placed our order for appetizers. 1st problem - we ordered the grilled pear salad with shrimp. Instead we got the squash salad? Both were mediocre lacking dressing or nuts to balance or highlight out flavors 2nd problem - The waiter came back with the pear salad but pear was not grilled. Nor were there any pecans. Sad because people had recommended this salad. 3rd problem - ordered the Burrata and it came out without any balsamic vinegar 4th problem - pasta piacere the sauce was so watery .. the flavor was okay we added some acid (the side of balsamic that finally came for our Burrata lol)..there was a little on the meat but bit a lot to balance the gorgonzola 5th problem - we saw them pack up a to go order and some of it spilled on the table the waiter used his bare hands to pick it up and out it in the togo box . Yuck .. 6th problem - Squash soup was lukewarm and lacked flavor... who brings barely warm soup??? Drinks were ok but tool awhile to come out. The sole was good but the side potato corn salad was not good not enough seasoning. The only highlight was the Tips Diablo appetizer - the sauce was great we kept dipping our bread and bread with appetizer came were pan seared with parmesan. We probably won't be returning here .. I hope the kitchen can improve their quality checks on the dishes. Feel they need a new cook and whoever checks the plate. We spent roughly $50 pp including tax n tip for 3 appetizers, 2 cup of soups, 4 drinks, 2 entrees. We only liked 1 dishes is sad.

Seared Ahi Tuna

We sat at the bar for happy hour, but there was plenty of seating around and in the dining room. Our bartender was so sweet checking in on how we liked our drinks and what we would want or would change for next time. The drinks were great, and so popular that they ran out of proper glassware lol. We ordered the tuna appetizer which we've had before, but this time it seemed seared more / a little smokey which we both liked a lot more! Delicious.

Although people post pictures of the food-- the menu is constantly rotating and changing on a day-to-day basis and a seasonal basis so the food you see might not always be the same menu. I really like that because it makes it a consistent date spot because the food is constantly changing and it's a new experience every time. The food itself was amazing because everything's handmade and farm-to-table. Everything is seasoned so nicely, presented, with super fresh quality ingredients. You can tell the kitchen staff are highly trained and have exquisite taste buds. Would recommend for anyone looking for a new date spot, cocktail bar, or special restaurant for a special occasion!

Unfortunately, the bar and the kitchen just didn't deliver. My Gin & Tonic was a hazard; it was so completely overloaded with peppercorns that I felt like I was chewing my drink and had to spit them out after every sip. For food, the corn elote lacked balance, and the scallops--which arrived swimming in a soup instead of a puree--tasted noticeably off. The chicken parm was entirely forgettable. With these kinds of texture and flavor issues, there's just no attention to detail in the kitchen. Even with great service, we won't be returning.

Four of us ordered the prime rib medium rare, but all four came out rare and bright red inside. One of us also ordered a New York steak medium rare, and it was served rare as well. It was clear that multiple steaks were not cooked to the correct temperature. When I brought it to our server's attention, she didn't apologize. She took one of the prime ribs back to the kitchen, and when it came back, it was completely overcooked, burnt, and well done. It was no longer medium rare or enjoyable. My son said he was okay with his meal, but I wasn't satisfied with how the situation was handled. I spoke to the server again, hoping for some kind of resolution. Instead, she told me they weren't going to replace my son's meal because he had already eaten most of it. I explained that I wasn't asking for another meal--I simply felt our table deserved a discount because all four prime ribs and the New York steak were cooked incorrectly. The cook clearly needs better quality control, especially for a steakhouse that's known for its steaks. More importantly, the server should have apologized and handled the situation professionally instead of arguing with us. I don't remember her name, but the customer service was just as disappointing as the food. Black Angus is known for its steaks, but not at this location. We left very disappointed and won't be returning.

The Owners/Hosts were courteous and sat us right away. We ordered the 20 Ribeye's both. Sides of creamed spinach and Brussel sprouts and two salads, one Caesar and one house. Also cream of mushroom soup. Presentation was spectacular. The salads were crisp and garnished with edible orchids. The soup was creamy and soothing. We chose, at the suggestion of our host the Bowtie Petite Syrah from the Macaully Estate Winery. Delicious, perfect temperature. The steaks were cooked perfect to medium. The rub was spiced right, and no steak sauce was even pondered. We topped it off with the New York Cheesecake and even though one of the Blueberries sadly fell off the table during the mandatory photo session, it did not hold it against us. Blueberries are naturally sad by comedy nature, so it held it martyrdom with pride. We will go back. We will recommend. From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, inviting, and elegant. We were seated in the back area, which was stunning and provided the perfect setting for a relaxing family dinner. Our server, Beto, was exceptional. Friendly, genuine, attentive, personable, and welcoming, he made the entire experience enjoyable from start to finish. As parents of young children, we especially appreciated how quickly everything came out without sacrificing quality. The food was outstanding. I ordered the Laconda salad with salmon (on the side), which was incredibly fresh, vibrant, and perfectly balanced. The special house made gnocchi with various cheeses was fresh and delightful. We also enjoyed a cheese pizza and the spaghetti and meatballs, both of which were delicious and expertly prepared. Every dish tasted authentic, fresh, thoughtful, and full of flavor. What stood out most was how effortless the entire evening felt. Great service, beautiful ambiance, and excellent food came together to create one of the best dining experiences we've had in a long time. Locanda Capri has firmly reclaimed its place as one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We left happy, impressed, and already looking forward to our next visit. * A special thank you to Beto for making our evening so enjoyable. We didn't have a reservation so there wasn't a table big enough in the patio area to seat us, but the indoor area was just as cute! The Brussels sprouts were super tasty and the salad was refreshing after we'd been in the sun so long. I had kinda high expectations for the pizza because there are signs all over on how it's the 5th best pizza in the world(?), but maybe those signs were more so regarding the margherita pizza(?). I typically love pizza with pesto in it--this one had yellow tomatoes + burrata as well, which were both wins in my book, but it was unfortunately way, way too oily for my taste. (We wanted to blot the pool of oil out but didn't want to eff up their provided cloth napkins.) It was still tasty, but i definitely think it cookie been better. That being said, I am really curious about their pastas, so if we do go back in the future, I'll likely go for that instead!
