Sloppy work and expired licenses. While getting my cuticles trimmed, I was cut and started bleeding. Let's back up though. I was assigned a guy who had his earphones on the whole time. He never spoke to me, and I couldn't communicate with him because he clearly didn't want to be bothered. After he cut me, he wiped the blood with a solution but didn't acknowledge it or apologize. My nails are sloppy looking -- polish on my skin, visible bubbles, and uneven application. I paid but didn't tip because $45 was a waste of money. Oh, and the "massage" at the end was literally a pea-sized amount of lotion rubbed on my hands for a few seconds. To make matters worse, I later discovered licenses displayed in the salon were expired. Overall, the experience felt unprofessional, careless, and unhygienic. I will not be returning. read more

I first tried a pedicure and the experience was really amazing. Tom, who was my nail technician, did wonderful at first. He gave hot water to our feet which was soothing, then he put in some wax to my feet which make my feet more cleaner then ever, as if it almost brand new. Not to mention that they use massages chairs which was relaxing throughout the whole time. Not to mention they have a mini sauna with hot water, probably the best out of all. I absolutely used to love coming here, even though it was nearly 45 minutes from my house. I loved the pedicure options and I always walked out feeling great. My last couple of visits haven't been so great and I've decided to find a new nail salon. My last visit I came in for a mani/pedi - regular polish. My pedicure massage was not very good, more like rubbing and less like massaging. My finger nails were in rough shape when I came in, so some extra buffing was in order. Instead of doing that, the manicurist didn't buff at all and tried to paint over the mess. I had to ask her to redo multiple nails because the polish was "grabbing" on to the unbuffed portions of my nails or was bubbling up. I was going to a wedding and just wanted a nice neutral pink. I always go to Charlie's and they are always very consistent. You know when you come here you will get a quality set of acrylic nails. They are also pretty friendly and the vibes are good. After recently relocating to the area I am looking for a nice, clean and friendly nail team. Yesterday was my second visit to Charming and like the first time, I wanted to love it- but I am still on the fence. The Pros: -The front desk assistant Mikayla: She is amazing and hands down the most friendly front desk person I have ever encountered at a nail salon. -Their playlist: I am not sure who is in charge of the music, and my first visit I thought it was just a fluke, but my second time around revealed that their playlist, despite the day, is indeed LIT! -Their decor: The shop is clean and visually appealing with the contemporary decor. -Charlie: While he appeared to rush through my nails because of an off-site appointment (even though I had an appointment with him too) the outcome of my nails was nice. The Cons: -Aside from Mikayla, everyone seems to have the personality of paint and there is not even the illusion that they want to engage in any type of conversation. And while I am not there to become besties with anyone, I patronize and pay my money where I am made to feel comfortable. Unfortunately, after 2 visits I do not have this feeling. -I had an appointment with Charlie for 1:30, I was seated at 1:50 and then he was rushing to get to another appointment outside of the shop. Now while I am happy with my nails, the experience is not what I am accustomed to With so many other nail salons within a 10 minute driving distance, unfortunately the customer service (Except for Mikayla) wasn't good enough to make me want to be loyal to them. I went in and asked for a full set of acrylic nails, was told by owner another GEL was better. I explained that I wanted to lengthen my nails since they were so short. She explained that they could "make my nails longer" with GEL instead of acrylic tips. I agreed to go with her recommendation. Wrong Decision. The quality of work was POOR. The GEL wasn't smooth; it had ridges and ruts. I asked to start over and get the service we originally requested. The owner wasn't happy, but said okay. Once the GEL was removed, I assumed they would start the acrylics....nope. Once the GEL was removed the owner told us we were done. The owner refused to do the acrylics that were originally requested when we walked in the door. AS we were paying for our pedicures, we were informed that because we paid with a card there was an additional fee. I have never experienced such horrible customer service. The latest was NYE and after two days, my nails chipped in the middle of the nails on three fingers on the left hand and one on the right hand, three days after getting them done. I've never seen anything like this before. I do not do anything strenuous or excessive that would cause these chips, as I work from home in an administrative position. I didn't bother to go back or call them to address the issues, frankly because I'm over the sub par work and exhausted with businesses like this. By the way, there must have been a name change recently, because the name on the wall still says Charlie's Nail Salon and Spa, however, the name on Yelp is Charming Nails & Day Spa. My first visit was pleasant and the older woman who did my gel manicure and pedicure was efficient and personable. Second visit was the total opposite. Before I tell you all about my not so great experience I first want to say that the front desk lady is very nice and professional, Although, we were not offered a cold beverage though we saw other customers get offered something to drink. Sorry I don't know her name (white lady with glasses). Hana was very rude and rushed through a simple manicure for my teen daughter. She failed to paint the entire nail and got even more upset when I asked her to correct it. She pushed and pulled on her hands, and kept stopping in between service to go outside to talk with a man. Went here for a girls day with my daughter and nieces. When we walked in, the receptionist was very nice and friendly. We were immediately serviced with no wait. I got a gel mani and pedi, my daughter a pedi, and my nieces mani's. The pedicure area was really nice and we were served drinks (we opted for the strawberry lemonade). My pedi was amazing and the lady who did my feet was very nice. My mani was alright, I've had worst. Th girls were all pleased with their nails and toes. Only thing that was disappointing was that my nails and toes didn't last very long. My nails were chipping within a week as well as my toes. The gel polish should last at least 2 weeks. But the way the lady applied the polish was weird as well as the way she had me placing my hands under the light. Nancy did an excellent job. She offered me a beverage to start before my pedicure and I have to say, my feet was screaming for the pampering. It's been so long since I've had a good pedicure and it looks like I'll be back more than just on my birthday. Had gel manicure done on July 2 and within 5 days severs nails had chipped. I was on vacation so I took pictures. I also send a message via their website and received no response. When I returned from vacation, I went back to talk to them. They only fixed two nails despite the pictures that showed 3 nails in particular that were chipped. I was basically told that they would only fix the two worse chipped nails, if I wanted them all done, I would have to pay. I would have paid a reduced rate to get them all done, but that wasn't offered. I felt the technician that fixed my nails was rude. I won't be spending money at this salon anymore! read more

I visit this facility often, today I had a run in with the owner himself Mr. Charlie. He is very disrespectful and condescending to his employees and customers. He doesn't listen and his is always right. When you have 3 or more people telling you the same thing just maybe you should listen. My time was wasted and he had the audacity to want to waste more of my time by resolving the issue tomorrow. This is unsatisfactory I have never felt so dismissed as a consumer. Polish color says one color (503) when you put (503) on my nails it's a hot pink instead of pastel shimmery pink. I now see why he is always hiring no one can work in these types of conditions. For Christmas I got a $30 gift certificate and that's the only reason this salon was my pick.. I went and got a pedicure because I absolutely cannot stand the way the techs do nails, they're thick and they do not take time to shape them and they have always popped off within a week. It started out by them saying there was no wait, I told the man what color I wanted on my toes and that I wanted gel. He then kept assuring me it was an extra $25, I said okay that was fine. Then he said it again, and again and again as if he was pointing towards I couldn't afford it. He barley talked to me after I said I understood gel was extra but I'd like to have it since I am going on a vacation. I picked what package I wanted, the Rose sugar scrub pedicure, with CALLUS TREATMENT. He did nothing for the callus's on the bottom of my feet besides scrub them with a little brush you wash your finger nails with. If this isn't the worse part, a day after I got the pedicure (Christmas eve) my big toe is swollen and red/purple. Hot to the touch, and throbbing in pain. I go to facebook for advice on what to do and everyone is telling me it is an infection. I go to urgent care, also on Christmas eve and they also say it is a bacterial infection and prescribe me antibiotics. Seriously do yourself a favor and DO NOT get a pedicure there! Now i'm an exta $35 out PLUS $30 for an urgent care copay and $12 for my prescriptions. With all of that, I could have just went someone cleaner. read more

I love this place! Every time I come here I get someone different and I love each and every one of them! I have never had a bad experience. Anytime I ask for a certain kind of design they always do their best to accommodate! My nails this time were done by Sam. He's a pretty awesome guy (as long as you stay still ‍) and definitely a very talented nail technician. Mary is also an 'extra mile' type of technician (and she's awesome at ombré dip).
