THEY DO NOT STAND BEHIND THEIR WARRANTY!!! On October 31, 2024 my wife and I bought a Beauty Rest Black Series Mattress from here based on a friends recommendation. We were very excited to get a top of the line Mattress to replace our 20 year old current one. Sleep is top priority to us because we both have demanding careers. We splurged getting the 2nd best mattress they sold. We paid $3,399.00 plus tax just for the mattress alone. After about 6 weeks, we noticed the mattress started forming a hole about midway down on the left side. I reached out to the Sales Manager Chris Kelly and they said it would be replaced. I went ahead and upgraded to the BEST mattress they sold hoping we wouldn't have the same problem. Another $400! On March 27, 2025, I reached out to Chris again to let him know we had another failure. SAME EXACT SPOT!!! He was quick to apologize and offered another replacement. We discussed what would happen if the new mattress failed. We can't continue this process every few months. He said that if the 3rd mattress failed they would issue me a refund and we would part ways. Well, on July 1, 2025 I notified the Sales Manager Chris Kelly that we had another failure! I assumed per our previous conversation, they would come get the faulty mattress and issue a refund as we agreed upon. Instead, a shell game commenced. Charlie Wilsons passed the baton to the Simmons Rep Brookes Gardner who has been completely unresponsive to my communication. It's terrible to expect a customer to deal with your factory rep! I bought the mattress from you. You extended the 1 year warranty! Charlie Wilsons totally dropped the ball in standing behind their product. So much for supporting a Small Business! We are average size people. My guess is these mattresses are not meant for an adjustable frame (which they sold to us as well $899) Meanwhile we are sleeping on a slant. My back hurts when I wake up. Toss and turn all night and get stuck in the hole. Have to roll uphill to get out! I've given them more than enough time to make this right. Dozens of emails and phone calls. I am a special education teacher and was in need of a fridge for my classroom. My students cook various dishes and we need a place to keep our cooking supplies. Unfortunately, our fridge broke and so I reached out to local appliance stores to try and have one donated that was dented or scratched. Eddie reached out and told me that the ones they had were already purchased but he would let me know if any more came in. More than a month went by and I was unable to get a fridge. Imagine my surprise when Eddie contacted me to let me know that a customer had a fridge they were replacing (the icemaker was the only thing that didn't work) and after hearing our story, this former teacher said we could have her old fridge! Eddie and his kindness in remembering a teacher who needed a fridge says a lot about the customer service at Charlie Wilson's. I bought an LG refrigerator from another appliance store 3 years ago. The water and ice tasted nasty. The other appliance store and LG said it was my water source. Even though never had a problem with water before we got this refrigerator. Went to Charlie Wilsons for a microwave and talked to their people and they sold me a $15 hose and told me what to do and I did now we can use our water and ice from a very expensive LG refrigerator. UPDATE July 9, 2022: Against my better judgment, my wife and I gave Charlie Wilson's a 2nd chance and purchased a new washer, dryer and microwave. A much better experience this time around. Fast and efficient delivery and installation of the washer and dryer. A couple of days later, fast and efficient delivery and installation of our new over-the-counter microwave. Very bad experience and conversations with the store owner were very confusing and difficult. We bought a dishwasher, but the pump motor didn't work (the manufacturer's repair representative said the dishwasher had been dropped, most likely in the factory. We asked owner Dave Wilson to allow us to return the dishwasher or replace it, but he refused, saying in one conversation that returning the dishwasher would put him out of business (though I would consider returning it to be reasonable customer service). Mr. Wilson said all dishwashers are fully inspected before they leave the store and the damage must have occurred after it left the store (either by us or by the plumber who installed it). His assertion that dishwashers are fully inspected made now sense as I wondered if every dishwasher is unpacked and inspected to see if it works, yet he argued they are all inspected. And, even though the manufacturer's representative said the dishwasher most likely was dropped in the factory, Mr. Wilson focused on our handling and how we should contact the plumber because we overpaid the plumber. Ultimately, the manufacturer was very helpful, but the local store owner leaves me with a bitter taste, after years of imagining that Charlie Wilson's was a hometown store with hometown courtesy. And, I will know not to shop there again. read more

Unlucky for me, my washer and dryer started to 'go' at the same time. Consumer Reports recommended machines that my family & friends did not or didn not the hottest reviews on store websites. While I had some ideas of what I wanted, I wasn't keen on any machine. I also wasn't keen on taking my laundry to my boyfriend's house. Time was ticking, looked at big box stores inquiring about "white good." (Apparently, I'm an old soul.) A friend recommended Charlie Wilson's and I decided to check it out. Wonderful. Walked in thinking I was just looking, came out with a purchased washer and dryer to be delivered, installed and old set hauled away. The delivery time was 24 hours!!! I had new my set less than 24 hours later. There was one hang up on the install - the hose that came with the washer machine wasn't long enough to reach the pipe contraption for rinse/drain. However, the installer told me exactly what I needed for this to be successful, explained how to fix it myself with additional parts. The customer service person I worked with was FANTASTIC! He wasn't pushy, he taught me the bells/whistles of my new washer and dryer set. The price was less than Costco. I highly recommend checking this place out. I will definitely be back to buy other white goods and the like for my home. read more

We basically walked into a big box store and randomly made a purchase. 10 years later and we were looking for a high level of personal involvement from our sales representative. What can you say about a company that is a Louisville landmark! Charlie Wilson has been around forever and there is a good reason why. They have excellent sales people who possess knowledgeable information when you are inquiring about buying. I've purchased a new washer and dryer and fridge from the Clarksville store. The salesperson asked all the right questions and made suggestions that saved us money. Why buy a large appliance when there's only two people in the house. When I bought my black steel French door fridge I was hesitant that it would not look as good as the shiny steel version. After further discussion with the salesman he assured me if you don't like the way it looks, I'll change it to stainless! The delivery on both purchases was on time as promised. They did a follow up call to ensure the delivery went well, those guys were in and out with no problems! You need an appliance or anything else, you go see Charlie! read more

I needed a new refrigerator. I felt the salesman, Eddie, was knowledgeable about refrigerators. After buying my refrigerator, he told me it would be delivered on following Tuesday, then didn't schedule the delivery! I called to find out why I had not gotten word of 3 hour window for delivery, then found out I wasn't even scheduled as I was told. Jim, the salesman I spoke to about this was very helpful in scheduling delivery in a timely manner for a couple days later. The delivery itself was handled extremely well by Jerry. Jerry was professional, courteous, very careful in removing my old refrigerator & setting up new one. He measured first to ensure selected doorways were wide enough, etc. for the moves. Can't say enough to compliment Jerry. It's unfortunate this buying experience was tarnished by Eddie not completing sale correctly & more importantly, not calling me to apologize he made an error... Stay far away! Ordered over $6000 in appliances in March, was told it would arrive in 8 - 12 weeks, kept being delayed, the dishwasher finally came in and it was damaged (the door was smashed in and they tried to get me to take it anyway and they would repair it, no thanks!!!!), so it had to be re-ordered, both appliances finally arrived in the middle of October!!!! (Nobody called to tell me they had arrived, I had to call and ask). They told me they would have it at the store, when I arrived, they told me it was still at the warehouse because it was too heavy for them to lift so I had to waste another day (they left a message on my home phone when I told them to call my cell phone so I never got it), After all of the trouble, they didn't even offer to deliver it, such pathetic service, do yourself a favor and find anywhere else, you can do no worse! read more

As we walked out of the store the stove I wanted was sitting there in the store. When we went back and ask about it was told they couldn't sell what was on the floor. Unfortunately I have had a fifty fifty experience here. I know their manager from where I work as we have accounts with them and she is awesome, Patrick is awesome but he was busy tonight in a wheelchair no less, working his customer service magic..Whereas there were three other people sitting, one of them one of their assistant managers and no one greeting us and even remotely interested in the return customers.. The gent who finally greeted us was named Keith (we think) who seemed to be dismayed that we knew what we wanted, an LG fridge and a matching stove. We wanted it for just a bit under 2000. I had to look it up on my phone vs him finding it for me, and when I inquired on getting a price match for the matching stove, he said they do match but then backtracked and said they don't. I'm confused...do you want the sale or not? I had cash in hand. We left Menards to come here because no one could set up a delivery date for delivery of two items we really wanted that Charlie's also had. However the issue tonight was that the customer service person we had was just not that into offering us options and we were having to ask things he should have been mentioning to us. If you cant deliver on a day when I need it, can't you offer another day? And why do I have to show you the items online that are marked in your ad? Should I also ring your sale up for you? I thought we were the customers. I do not think we will be back for hit and miss service. read more

It was a bit of a trek to go downtown to this store, but parking was not a problem - they have a free parking lot behind the store. The staff were knowledgeable and helpful. The selection was good, and the prices were very good. I received a AAA discount from the prices shown on the website too. After comparison shopping prices on my selection, I decided to go with Charlie's. Their installer was very professional. After 2 weeks of using the dishwasher, I am very pleased and I plan to purchase further appliances to match it for my kitchen remodel. I would definitely recommend this store. read more

I recently purchased a stove and refrigerator. The salesman told me the appliances would be "set up and ready to go" when the delivery people left. Maybe I should have asked more questions but my definition of "set up and ready to go" means I can start filling up the frig, their definition is plugged in and, for the frig, the ice maker was hooked up. For any more "set up" than that, there is a charge. I will refrain from mentioning the female who called to set up the second delivery for the refrigerator. read more

My daughter and son in law received all of their appliances as a wedding gift. When I was their for their wedding I cooked on the stove and said that it was not leveled. They didn't know that was a thing. So after honeymoon they contacted Charlie Wilson's and they said it was past the 24 hour window and they would have to pay for someone to come out to level it. Ok, son in law didn't know but the installers SHOULD HAVE!! Seriously, poor customer service and poor instillation! PLEASE BE CAREFUL! On February 21, 2019 I purchased a dryer from Charlie Wilson's for 767.15. I previously purchased a washer and wanted the dryer to match. The dryer paint started peeling one week after I had it delivered. Charlie Wilson sent a very rude repairman to my house and he said I must have spilled something on the dryer to cause the paint to peel. I did not spill anything on the dryer. The absolute worst experience ever buying appliances for our new home. We were recommended to Charlie Wilson's when we moved to town and decided to build a home. We experienced issues from day one with Phil our salesman trying to get the appropriate information for financing. We had to call and email multiple times over the course of six months and submit our information 3 times. Then when we finally closed on our home and I called to check confirm on the delivery date we had agreed on, I was told that they had on on the schedule for a week later. The did "squeeze" us in on the correct delivery date, only to get a call from Phil as the delivery guys were arriving telling us that 3 of our pieces were not included - 2 were "accidentally" sold to another customer and one was on back order. We had order the items over 6 months ago!! Then upon arrival, after a email trail specifcally asking if the items would be delivered and INSTALLED, we were told that they don't install items. Worst customer service EVER! DO NOT GET YOUR APPLIANCES HERE! **We purchased at the Market Street store, prior to knowing they were closing and the deliveries came from the Clarksville store.** read more

What a colossal waste of time! I called and got a gentleman who told me he was too "frazzled" to help me so I would have to come into the store. Drove all the way over there. I was one of 2 people in the store yet the two Associates standing by the mattresses continued their conversation. When the woman finally stopped talking and asked her coworker to help me he said in a minute. Seriously - there was one other customer in the whole store!! A third gentleman offered to help me. He took one list of the appliances I wanted to buy and told me they didn't carry any of the brands I wanted. If the idiot on the phone had taken two minutes to chat with me I could have saved an hour of my time and not written this review. Take your business somewhere where they want it. This used to be the place to go for appliances-- but no more.Several stores now cost less,offer better service and have much nicer people you have to deal with. I bought many things from them over the past 40 years but no more. I ordered a refrigerator from them awhile back and it came damaged and the installers said it wouldnt fit anyway-- well I got same one cheaper and it fit perfectly. Last week I ordered a washer and they said delivery people would call me next day to say what time and day delivery would be-- 3 days later no call then at 730 am they called and said theyd be there in 30 minutes- luckily I wasnt working till later that day. They came and soon after found out on opening box the washer was broken badly. They said it would be 4 days till they could deliver a new one. I then called the store and told him the story and asked when I could get delivery and he said he needed invoice number which was never emailed to me ,I then said I would think they would check appliance before delivery -- he then lit into me saying we cant do that among other things-how should I know when it will be delivered- I then asked who he was and he said Steve Wilson the owner" is that high enough for you"-- I was flabbergasted never been treated that way by a merchant and believe me I thought of some things to say but hung up figuring they would call me back and appologize.. no call so 2 hours later I called and cancelled the sale. I then got same washer from somewhere else and saved 100$ and got delivery next day. Its ashame that such a good business has gone down so far. Negative stars - BEWARE. Purchased a nice common package 2/20/17, they delivered the microwave, Fridge, and dishwasher but not the range. After about a month and several phone calls, we had a Loaner delivered. Charlie Wilson's staff continued to tell us they didn't know when the Maytag Stainless Steel Electric Double Oven Range would come in, about every 3 weeks I would call, March, April, May, June, every month the same thing, July, August - "Now the factory is retooling" the sales staff tells me. Even spoke to the Manager who suggested I pick something else. "WHAT???" I finally contacted an Attorney, He said call the factory first, (I did, they never stopped making it, its like saying Ford doesn't make the F150), Call the credit card company and tell them ( I did, they disputed the charges) and write an email to everyone involved. So I call the store to get the managers email, A sales person by the name of Phil answers, I asked Phil for his email and the managers. I've never talked to Phil prior, hes a nice guy, He asks whats the problem, I told him the story, I can hear his mouth drop, he says can I look at the order for you? Sure I tell him, In seconds he says, You bought an entire package but the range model number is old, someone put it in wrong. I ask, so can you order the matching MET8800FZ Maytag Stainless Steel Electric Double Oven Range? He says oh yes, So i ask him to go talk to the manager for me while I write an email to him, the manager and my attorney explaining what the next actions would be. After about another 2 weeks, Its delivered ( Sad an Attorney had to be involved). CHARLIE WILSONS SALES MANAGER - JACK, NOR THE SALES STAFF EVER OFFERED AN APOLOGY. JUST ACTED LIKE WE ORDERED IT YESTERDAY... ****I'm not looking for an apology now and to be honest will not look at Charlie Wilsons reviews again, so if someone from Charlie Wilson's is paid to respond to these reviews, don't place a response, you're doing it for your benefit not mine, I just want those who care enough to read these to know not to expect an apology if Charlie Wilson's staff make a mistake and it takes from order/invoice date of 2/20/17 to 10/13/17(delivery date) - almost exactly 8 months, to get what they order.... Everyone makes mistakes, but it could have been fixed in so many ways... 8 MONTHS AND AN ATTORNEY. And after thoughtful consideration, I believe it was noticed by the sales manager, but he choose not to fix the issue and hoped we would choose a less expensive model to help his bottom line. And I bet there are others like me, still waiting...Crazy Story. lesson learned - pay with a credit card and if they don't deliver, your real only recourse is to call the credit card company and deny the payment and return the appliances in the stores return policy time. Do not hold on to items longer than the return date if one of the items has yet to be delivered., better yet, do not accept delivery unless all the times are being delivered. I have been a homeowner for 28+ years and have purchased numerous appliances from Charlie Wilson's over the years. Recently, I bought a dryer, but when the delivery guys showed up at my home, they refused to even try to take the appliance into my home through the access under the addition of my house (even though 2 previous deliveries from Charlie Wilson's had gone into my home the exact same way! ) And when they called their supervisor to complain about the situation, he/she told them to leave it in the driveway. I refused their offer, so they took the dryer back to the store. That same day, I bought the exact same dryer at Lowe's (for $11 less with free delivery), and when the Lowe's delivery team came to my home, they brought the dryer into my home through the access under my addition without any difficulty, and within 30 minutes, they had the dryer installed and had left my home. Due to the excellent customer service afforded me by their delivery team (Sean and Charlie), Lowe's has earned my business for the rest of my life, and I will make it a point to tell everyone about my horrible experience with Charlie Wilson's delivery crew. read more

I bought a new refrigerator from here. The delivery men had an awful attitude upon arrival. They refused installation and pick up of the old refrigerator even though I paid for the service because it took 12 minutes for me to shut off the water. He yelled at me for not immediately knowing where the water shut off was, but they never told me to look for it the 4 times they talked to me to schedule delivery. I called the store and the manager told me I was confused and that it may have seemed like they were having attitude but they weren't and I don't know what I'm talking about. He also told me that they had many deliveries but also they had turned in the truck at 1pm so they couldn't come back that day to pick up the old refrigerator after I hooked up the new one. The new refrigerator had scuff marks, one drawer doesn't open properly and they left marks on my floor that took me 20 minutes to scrub off. read more

How Charlie Wilson Stole Christmas! I ordered and paid for a Gas Stove on Dec 1st and was told it would be in approx. Dec 10th. I informed them that this was a Christmas present. When I hadn't heard from them I called on Dec 15th and they said it was "on the truck to the store" and they would contact us about delivery. I called Dec 20th, they said the model was discontinued and they couldn't get it. No one ever called to tell me this, not to mention, how could it be "on the truck" when it was discontinued? I called back later that day and told them that the model was in fact still available on the internet. I called back again Dec 23rd and was told they thought they found one and would call me. No call came from the store. At this point, I was left without a Christmas present for my daughter. I called back after Christmas and was told they found one. Again no call came from the store about delivery. Again, I called back and they said it was coming to the store on Jan 8th and asked if we wanted it delivered that Friday or Saturday. We set up a Saturday delivery. We never heard from the store to confirm delivery so I called to get a delivery time. They told me it would be between 12 and 2 and I was told the delivery people would call 30 minutes before they came. The Charlie Wilson delivery person from the store called at 12:21 and said they would be there in 30 to 40 minutes. After waiting 1 hour and 40 minutes I called and told them no one had shown up yet. After a 10 minute wait on the phone they said there was a problem with the stove and they couldn't make the delivery. I called one last time and the manager said "I found another one, but I can't guarantee there won't be problems, do you still want it?" After all the hassle they had put me through, I asked for my refund. They held my money for 6 weeks during this whole unbelievable process, after 3 days I finally received my money. Ask yourself, would you want to deal with a company that habitually lies? And if that wasn't enough, has the worst customer service I have every experienced in my 60 years. read more

I asked to talk to a manager and the salesman, Phil, told me they had no manager there....at all. He told me the salesmen take care of all their own business. DO NOT EVER BUY FROM THIS PLACE! I was told to pick my appliances here from my builder who does business with them. It was a mess from the beginning. 2 weeks before we were supposed to move in the appliances that we had ordered 3 months earlier had never been ordered. We were told they were going to upgrade 2 of the appliances because they had been discontinued because they were never ordered. When we got the fridge it had very small rust spots up and down the doors. Two weeks later we got the oven and were told they could not install it because of the gas line and the delivery people left. We immediately hooked it up and while they were pulling out we called them to tell them the stove was not lighting. They told us there was nothing they could do. They would not take it and we were told to call our salesperson. We attempted to call and text him for 2 days with no returned calls. They eventually replaced the fridge because of the spots but we ended up having to communicate with Steve Wilson on the oven. He was very helpful in the beginning. He sent a repairman out but would not replace our broken stove even though we have been calling since it was dropped off. The repair man told us we needed a new motherboard and that it would be ordered. I told Steve Wilson that the stove sometimes works and then other times does not. He instructed me to be patient and that the motherboard would correct it. I waited 2 months and when I called to follow up I was told that I called him and cancelled the order and told him that I no longer needed it!!!!! ALL LIES! The repair man later told me that he got it in and could not reach me so they sent the parts back. Charlie Wilsons appliance has my number as well as my builders but never contacted us... They now refuse to fix or replace my brand new stove that does not work correctly. It cook unevenly and does not light at all times. I am still waiting for repairs through LG and Charlie Wilsons refuses to do a thing! The microwave also makes very loud sounds and has started not heating our food at times. We have only lived here 5 months and we have had nothing but issues!!! read more
