LOL Now that I read some of the reviews, it's true it didn't say "Asian" Night market on the flyer, but it almost seemed like one, having most of the vendors being Asian, which I was totally fine with! Although, I wasn't able to find any Asian vendors that were shorter lines, so I ended up eating mini burger and fries at Food Truck Mafia, which was like the only short line. LOL. The sliders were really good. The lady that helped us though, was really rude though. Honestly, I just wanted to eat something & not waste my time in the 1+ hour lines. At least I got to have Milk Tea at Bubbly when it got darker at night, when it surprisingly got shorter lines. (hello, night market, surprised it died down quick.) People are saying they didn't get Boba in their drinks, I was OK with grass jelly, which I got to get! So cool these bottles were & a keepsake. I also got to visit my friends booth, "Simply Lovely Catering." Those Hawaiian donuts though. Yummy! Sam's Matcha was worth getting too, because it had green tea AND red bean inside. #HEAVEN It was really cool to see a booth set up for karaoke. Also a booth set up for children's reading/telling stories. My least favorite was the merchandise vendors, I just skimmed through, nothing interesting to see. I would definitely come back.

They served the best Hawaiian Malasadas with a banana filling. These balls of warm dough were generously showered with sugar and cinnamon and served with a side of goat's milk caramel. Price: $7.50. Haven't had malasadas this satisfying since my most recent trip to Maui this year when we dined at The Mill House. We were served with an identical version which was just as satisfying! With each bite, I was transported back to my trip to the islands. I looked at the list of vendors on the Bay area Night Market website and could not locate them. Would anyone know who this vendor was?

Individuals kept wondering if the flea market will ever be back... And it did come back! EVERY 2nd/SECOND SATURDAY OF EVERY MONTH, March to November, 9am to 2pm And now FREE PARKING! It used to be $2 to park! I gave it the rating I did because/ 1. Since the re-opening, I never purchased a single thing 2. Vendors are all pretty much the same (and it's hilarious some of the faces are familiar and seen at estate sale hunts) 3. Love how they attempt a theme and have added old school cars to the mix! 4. The vendors are not the nicest... they don't budge and are not willing to negotiate (I mean that's the fun of flea markets!) 5. Kind of pricey. Pretty much all antique and used items. A couple of vendors sell new but very "made in China" items 6. Products are often repeated aka the same 7. It's not huge... you could probably walk the entire thing in less than 30 minutes Would I come back? I just love estate sales, rummage sales, flea markets, etc. It's great to walk around especially when you don't have the mindset of "must have to buy"

For summer break we decided to start the day here and find lunch close by. It was much larger and busier than it was in Winter. The great thing is free parking and free admission, the walk from parking to the fleamarket is very close. If you want to sell here the pricing per spot is low and you can pull in easily with your car. I believe each spot is $20 and this fleamarket happens the 2nd Saturday of every month. They do a good job of attracting vendors with that sell newer items in bulk, more classic garage style bring your old junk, plants, antiques, and some food trucks. The coolest thing we did was probably the train ride that goes through the fleamarket and car show. The car show area did smell like something peope like to smoke though :) It does get hot later in the day in Summer so best to come early. We ended up leaving with some nice snacks and old books for the kids.

As a regular in this area, I've noticed a few red flags that are hard to ignore: Zero Visible Permits: Most legal food vendors are required to display their Alameda County Health Department "green placard" and a city business license. This stand has neither. Hygiene Issues: There are no visible handwashing stations or proper refrigeration systems for the raw meat and trompo being served. In a 2026 climate where food safety is increasingly a concern, eating from an open-air tent with no running water is a major gamble. Unfair Competition: Our local "brick-and-mortar" restaurants pay high rents, city taxes, and regular inspection fees to keep our community safe and fed. Unpermitted pop-ups like this one operate with zero overhead, which directly hurts the small businesses that have been the backbone of Hayward and Union City for years. If you're craving authentic Mexican food, please consider supporting the shops that actually follow the rules and invest in our neighborhood. You'll get a safer meal and help a local business stay afloat: Taqueria Fronteras 1 (just down the road on Whipple)--Reliable, inspected, and consistently great. Don Julio's Taqueria--Incredible quesabirria and they actually follow health codes. Taqueria La Placita--A local staple that has earned its reputation the right way. Let's keep our community healthy and support the people who actually pay into our local economy!

The Gonzalez regular burrito is the tastiest I've ever eaten in Fremont. It is likely the best burrito in Fremont. The tortilla prep is unique and is tasty, browned, and (buttery). The carne asada was fresh, perfectly spiced, tender, a generously portioned. The pinto beans were whole, not overly cooked, and added a nice layer of flavor and texture. Spanish rice was perfectly cooked, not mushy, not bland, not too much or too salty. The spice blend, fresh leafy bits, and crunchy onion bits, set this typical burrito apart from the rest I've tasted, ever. In totality, this burrito is a multilayered flavor and texture experience. I recommend. Well done Grill Los Gonzales! Caution, the roasted chilly are experienced high level chilly eaters only.

If it's a weekday and between 10 AM and 6 PM (call to check as they sometimes close early when they sell out), go to Amelia's and try the Amelia's Taco Dorado (crunchy taco shell in a soft taco tortilla with the works of meat, guacamole, cheese, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream and her own salsa). She also has regular street tacos and Tacos Supreme (comes with guac and sour cream). Hefty portions (she doesn't skimp on the guacamole or meat) and all of her prices are listed out. Best part? Call ahead to give your order to Juan and they'll have your order ready. We've ordered ahead while a few exits away on 880 and also at the start of the Dumbarton bridge. ============================== This has been on my radar since my colleague told me about the best tacos he'd ever had in the Bay Area including al pastor sliced off a trompo, but then Tacos Grill Los Gonzalez disappeared for a while from the Apex used car lot. They're finally back so we did the long trek over to try them twice. I might come back if I happened to be in the area and saw zero people in line, but otherwise, the wait time is too long. They are not lunch time friendly as orders take a while to come out. First visit, there were two people in front of us and we ordered four tacos. It was a 28 minute wait. Second visit, two people ordered in front of us plus one person who picked up their order right as we got there. We ordered six tacos and waited 37 minutes. That is very long for a food truck. The people in front of us were getting impatient and repeatedly asking for status updates. There are no prices listed anywhere so you have to ask about each item or order off of blind trust. The trompo seems to be gone and it appears they use bulk bagged "al pastor" now, or at least it looked and tasted like what you see when taquerias order large plastic bags of pre-sliced, red-dyed meat to grill up as needed. The paper wrapper around each taco is a must because the fresh made tortillas fall apart after one bite, even if you are eating within minutes of being handed your tacos. Other options nearby are Amelia's Kitchen Taco Truck on Decoto with plenty of parking before Regan Nursery, Tacos Sin Fronteras (another food truck) a block down on the same side of Thornton and Mi Lindo Sinaloa (sit down restaurant) on the opposite side of Thornton.

The Yelp information doesn't reflect that the location that's listed ( 27812 Loyola Ave, Hayward…read more ) is not where the actual shave ice is sold at. This address is a residential house. The restaurant or food truck or business is not at that location selling anything. That would have been nice to know ahead of time. As for the hours that Yelp lists (12:30am to 5:30pm) , we were at that location (27812 Loyola Ave) at that time (2:30pm) on Sunday 11/12/2023, and there wasn't a anything there that was selling shave ice. My guess is a food truck is only for special events at an arranged place that are planned ahead of time. I see that this business has been "claimed" on Yelp and "Verified by business owner over 3 months ago", so it would have been best if the owner updated the company's information on Yelp to explain where exactly this business/restaurant/food truck is located or if it's for special events only. It does say "Shaved Ice, Food Truck" but I thought that meant it also had a food truck in addition to a physical location/restaurant ( 27812 Loyola Ave). I give 4 stars because detailed information is missing and should be added by the business owner.
